Games dont run for free. Devs and other staff all take wages and prices of everything has gone up.

Pretty much, the cost of operating the game hasnāt stagnated, hardware is expensive especially during the chip shortages, not really surprising that the sub price has to increase

i am something like 1 year in and first half i was playing as Alpha. And I was thinking a lot about Omega sub. Reasons were:
- I do not have a lot of playtime, in general i am stealing from my sleep.
- As everyone in house is sleeping i cant go on voice coms and this partially leave me out of fleet fun partsā¦
- 15eur every month isnāt much but also its not considered i dont care money as at the end of year it is 180eur
Now i cant just say that 20eur month or 240/year (yeah i know there is 3months and so onā¦) is somethink i will just wave out.
Last week i read at news that expences in our country got up by 100eur per head. I didnt do the math but yeah at the end of the month i can see that i spent moreā¦ dont feel like i got moreā¦ so probably i will keep 240eur for my family.
I dont know about EVE before if it was better/worse, mostly just because i didnt know that such game existed! I am gaming for last 30 years and i just stumbled upon EVE last year! How do you expect to get players when someone who basically spent life playing something (ok not always space games) never heard of EVE :))

Cancelled 4 accounts, players since 14 years or so
15e a month was already huge in my mind for a 15+ years MMO, i would have think they go to F2P mechanism at some point but CCP prefer to hit the wallet in a bad period for a lot of us.
I was thinking to sub a 5th account lately, but instead i prefer cancel them all

People, embrace the challenge of playing as an Alpha. Im sure all you multiboxers can survive playing one account at a time for a little while?
Then we get to unsub, meaning we can play and protest at the same time.
I have gone from running the Abyss in an Ishtar to a VNI and having the same amount of fun, with slightly higher difficulty and longer runs.
We can push the envelope of what can be achieved on an Alpha account.
And I tell you this, the moment CCP nerf Alpha capabilities, is the moment that the protest is a success.

For multi-boxers this will actually be the hardest part. They get a lot of utility and efficiency out of playing with at least 2 ships at the same time.
Alpha is a really good alternative for players already down to one account (unless they are really into exploration). They wonāt lose out on much more content than they already do.
If budgets are tight, multi-boxers can skill farm. If they still want more skillpoints for themselves instead, they can grind more or cannibalize accounts. Failing that, they can downscale, potentially all the way to dual-boxing.
Not as a protest per se, but looking critically at recurring expenditures is always a good idea.
I mean, wonāt they just get richer then if the rewards are increased? And, what do you consider ārichā anyway? 5b 12b? more?
Here you go, you can protest the prices, so CCP will revert it but now youāll need to go back and pay for all the free expansions you got so the system is the same as WoW and FFXIV, seems like a fair compromise
Because people seem to forget how many expansions we got for free and how much other MMOās charged for that content, do you really want to have to pay to unlock access to new ships that get released because you donāt own the expansion?

I can live with prices risesā¦but the thing I think is really absurd is thisā¦
I pay for Omega for an account. That account has 3 toons. I can only skill one toon at a timeā¦so I have the entire skills queue on Altara, which means my Cilla Cybin toon is stuck on 3.8m SP, and CCP want some absurd amount for me to skill both toons.
On the other hand, I have an Alpha account as well, which totally for free can reach 5m SPā¦without me paying CCP a penny.
That is just absurdā¦that my free Alpha account can reach 5m SP, yet a toon I am paying for cannot reach that same level for free.
You can lapse to alpha and then switch to free training to your alt. Saves money too.
Sure, but it would make a good deal more sense and fairness if all toons within an Omega account were automatically allowed to reach 5m SPā¦as Alpha accounts can do. This is an absurdity that CCP really need to sort out.

Yes, generally it makes a lot more sense to just start another account.
I agree it makes little sense, but you can also exploit this to your advantage.
Iāve been trying to buy a Raspberry PI 4B 8 Gig for over a half a year now.
I was trying to think of what they could announce that would offset a price increase.
If they enable all, or at least 2 toons from the same account to log in simultaneously, that would āchange everything.ā And MCT would increase dramatically.
They do things all the time. you get 4 major updates EVERY year for FREE.

I cancel payment method for my accounts all the time and type in the box āWant to decide which account is active and when thanksā
It is not in anyway to protest just putting that out there if they read this thread and try to link who happens to be managing payment options currently. The coming price changes has no bearing on the way i play EveOnline. I think you have a good game that offers hours of relaxing enjoyment and thank you for that.
