Forthcoming.
Eve without pirates? That would be like Tampa without Jose Gaspar.
Whatever the merits or demerits of ganking, I feel youâve presented a rather disingenuous image of the balance.
Miners, PvE-ers, traders, haulers, etc, are not interfering in anyone elseâs play for their âin game contentâ. Ganking is a whole different ball game, because by definition the âin game contentâ consists exclusively of ruining someone elseâs âin game contentâ.
They are not two balanced ends of some âin game contentâ see-sawâŚthey are two completely different things.
Seems alot of people get off on high sec ganking or benefit from it. Thats the only opposition here. If you want pvp why dont you people go to lowsec more? its like all of your lives revolved around highsec ganking. Half the time you are ganking new players or casuals and just ruining their day out of spite. Its ToxicâŚ
Or in my case, do both!
For a dude who claimed to be burned out from null sec wars you seem really uninformed about what hi sec ganking really is.
He lost a badfit Paladin to a gank over a year ago and from the lack of zkill and forum activity after that itâs safe to assume he rage quit.
And now that heâs back he wants to badfit pallies again, minus the ganking. Hence his posts.
I respect your opinion, but I again say players, myself included, have ways to counter that: we are not without our own tools at our disposal. To use a sand castle analogy, I have three options to prevent my sand castle from being kicked over by a bully:
- punch the bully in the face if he tries to.
- move my sand castle building to another place where the bully doesnât go to.
- hide bricks in the castle and the bully breaks a toe (which I did to one neighbourhood kid when I was 9 years old and got in trouble for that but thatâs another story)
Itâs in our hands to decide what to do and that in turn generates player content as well.
yup badfitting paladins is what I was doing. all you people do is attack others. how toxic can you get?
Why do you get to force your idea of how the game should be on us? Itâs just as bad as forcing pvp on carebears. Truly your hypocrisy knows no bounds.
You actually have a fourth option
- use social skills and convince someone to not shoot you
I actually have a really nice disposition as part of my social skillset, but it means nothing when I am outgunned a hundred to one by an alliance. Iâd rather fly around in something less expensive to break and very easy to replace.
There is, start ganking the gankers. When ya gonna do that instead of making excuses?
EVE gives us the tools to solve our problems. You must but pick up the hammer.
Everyone is content Welcome to EVE
I spend a lot of time in low
Good to see you conceded defeat so soon. Only way for pirates to be punished in high sec is to have it where they canât dock or use fitting services after falling below a certain amount of security status and make ship kills significant.
That includes ships and mobile depots or anything else like it
Oh my, you are really leaning in into that victim role. Itâs like they made mining for you.
The system that IS in place is called CONCORD, and the only reason they exist is suicide ganking. There is no other reason for them. CCP deliberately designed them that suicide ganking is possible. This is a feature of the game, if you like it or not, itâs designed that way.
You came to a PvP sandbox game, and the sole role you picked for yourself is a victim role. That is on you. You have all the possibilities in this game everyone else has. And even for your âself inflictedâ role, there are people that successfully mine in highsec for basically decades, without having an issue with gankers, because they invested the 20min it takes to make yourself completely invulnerable to them, AKA playing the game, picking the right ship and fitting it for the task at hand, which is 1. to not die and 2. to mine ore, in that order.
The only problem that needs to be solved here is one of your own. You refuse to play the game by using the tools available that will make ganking a none issue. Something that is so easy itâs not even funny we have to discuss it once again on the forums.
Great, you are entitled to your own opinion; so is everyone else. And people have been saying this for years and it hasnât changed. Maybe, just maybe. your thread will be the one to change everyone elseâs mind.
Lol
Why local? Everyone knows itâs Icelandic law, so Iâve been writing to Icelandic Parliament.
I created NFTs of all my digital assets. If anyone touches them in-game without my consent, it is damaging my property. Not allowed. My NFT, my rules.
This one is tricky, because you have to file Icelandic police reports. I tried doing this in my home state of Texas but it doesnât work. I highly recommend learning Icelandic on Duolingo because then you can file the reports natively.
The UN Declaration of Human Rights already covers this, we just need to expand the UN to enforce their iron will with sanctions or troops so that we can be liberated from the tyranny of the gankers and any other outside party that might try to use its undue authoritarianism. To that end Iâve also been writing the UNâs chairman.
Completely agree, we just need to think bigger.
No one should listen to scumbag griefers like Karak Terrel. Remember: blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. People who play peacefully and lawfully, and are victimized at every opportunity by sinners like gankers, are destined to be the true winners of EVE. We should not waste our time on arguments with these players, who are beyond salvation, but should focus our efforts on getting CCP to change the game according to modern, altruistic ideals. Just ask, and it shall be given to you. Misanthropic âPvPâ doesnât belong in society, and it doesnât belong in video games. If we keep pressure on the game makers, some of whom still seem to be stuck in their old ways, then in time we can scrub the scourge of inter-player violence from the industry entirely, and ensure that all can enjoy and benefit from mutually-respectful cooperative gaming experiences.
Yes they are.
Miners mine rocks that I could mine myself.
PvE-ers shoot rats that I could shoot.
Traders sell stuff on the market in direct competition with me.
Haulers haul stuff that I could be hauling⌠how dare they encroach on my game content?!
Everything is PvP in EVE.
Your logical fallacies does not equate to a logical win on the debate floor.
Nice try with the trolling though.
3/10, for effort.
