Correction: you can’t use them from the same launcher.
I think CCP has the ability to recognize virtual machines, but if you have multiple computers running EVE, that’s technically legal. Now of course no one will buy a dozen or so cheap notebooks just to farm EVE with alpha accounts (I hope) but if you already happen to have access to a network of computers, that’s something you can abuse.
Can you cite that one way or another?

The text translation of this binary text from the intercepted JQH0 message is interesting to say the least.
It is a breach of the End User Licence Agreement, regardless of whether it is technically feasible.
You may establish more than one Account for each copy of the Software licensed. You are however not allowed to play EVE by using more than one Account at the same time, unless you pay a subscription fee for each of the Accounts you intend to use for that purpose.
Okay, maybe “legal” isn’t the correct word to use (even though it’s only illegal if you get caught), but playing on different computers, using different e-mails for the accounts and not using some trickery that obviously gives the same input to all clients at once, it becomes really difficult to detect cheating. What if I pay a beer to 10 people who aren’t interested in the game to do exactly what I say? The farming would still work.
Anyway, the point is: whatever rewards we’re getting from the events, it needs to be tweaked around the potential abuse of alpha accounts. This is why half of the stuff auto applies instead of being something you can trade.
Also, no one ever reads the EULA, it’s so long!
And that, m’lud, closes the case for the prosecution!
My 2 cents… it’s not about difficulty or other players robbing my loot
It’s about your collectable rewards…
Combat site solo= 10 points— 45 sites to get to the Nestor skin(doable)
Hacking sites= need 2 for 5 points— 180 sites to get to the Nestor skin (WTF CCP)
end rant
Assuming you can farm the events somehow, but you can’t. Sites are random and spread, and need time investment plus active play to complete.
There is no excuse for CCP to make the point rewards soul-bound. Especially because you get much more items of the same kind from drops while hunting points.
the events are desiged to waste your time.
Corrected for you.
Are cruisers allowed in the drone sites?
What encoding is that? I can’t decipher it in ASCII apparently.
Apologies if this has already been answered - with my severe vision impairment, I was unable to be certain searching this thread:
Can I warp to one of those AIR Drone Outgrowth (or whatever it’s called) combat sites in a cloaked ship at 100km and have it count as entering the site for the awards? I’m currently in nullsec and don’t want to risk my covops frigate by being forced next to something that will decloak me. Thanks all!
The sites have a gate, so no.
I thought simply warping to the gate pocket will give you the “enter the site” accomplishment, I guess I wasn’t paying attention to when exactly it was completed. But that one is only available once, so I couldn’t check it again.
You very likely be right. As it’s only once I can’t remember. I got one site completion by shooting a player who warped out and came back. Never took the gate myself.
Would be pretty awesome if CCP could extend the event for more 24 hours, if i remember correctly, the data sites were bugged in the first 24 hours, since they were classified as combat sites.
Edit: also the duplication of sites …
Another nice event is coming to an end. Was able to refill my PvP war chest with a couple B from data sites and loot, and had fun with the cat&mouse game.
One point I missed from the previous event. The Minmatar event was much more intense because people were flocked to a rather small lowsec area leading to more competition. This time you could avoid any encounter if you wanted to.
One more, making the point rewards soul bound is annoying and unnecessary cause it can’t be abused. The market and speculations were always a part of the game. I personally have no use for the scan boosters, but others may like it?
Same, made some good ISK, got some skins, filled the bar to max. Thank you, CCP and whoever was behind the design of the combat sites in particular, this one was an exercise in minimal solutions - a 47hp/s tank worked fine.
I managed to complete the event and get 3 SKINs for the SoE ships. I earned about 1.5 B by operating only in high-sec space. Not too bad for a few days grind. In the process, I didn’t lose an Astero or Worm while completing missions, something a few unlucky Kikimora/Skybreaker owners can’t say.
And all this without selfishly stealing others’ drone overseer. Kind of something I’m actually proud of, in a way.
