I do not negotiate mining permits. First that is extortion, its a mining racket and there is no true protection against anyone, but, the ones that you are paying to leave you alone. That is not isk positive. Additionally, no one crowned those people king. Next you pay one alt to stop then you have to pay another alt to stop. It actually encourages bad behavior with positive reinforcement. Technically speaking the people that do this in game are probably doing something on the shady side in real life and most likely should be in jail. Nothing saying they couldnāt play the game in jail if they had the means. But, no, I do not encourage children to bully others.
The problem is that they are protected by poor mechanics, bumping at speed XXX should get them suspect, at least then I can give them a taste of neutron blasters as well, the docking mechanics of allowing criminals is dumb, I will be their the first to admit that I stink at PVP but chasing them around only for them to be docked, that just bored me and a waste of my time as you canāt get to them, itās boring chasing them, at least if one of their alts is hanging at udema and bump I know where to go look for some action, then they in turn can blast me in turn, but, that bump mechanics only favor carebearish behavior.
Not likely. Lowsec already looks after the bots on its own. In the absence of CCP removing the bots (and bot aspirants through AFK play), CODE. police highsec as there isnāt anyone else too.
Itās pretty selfless when you think about it. They sacrifice their game time to make the economy better for us all and to ensure that the bots and AFK bot aspirants donāt eat all the rocks for active players.
They sort of deserve some thanks from highsec.

I agree, this would be a lot of fun. I hope one day CCP actually implements this and also OPs idea.
Yeah itās one of those issues that people have pretty strong views on, in very opposite ways.
Personally, I generally fa our players taking responsibility for the things they face and using existingme hanics to deal with problems, rather than asking CCP to extend mechanics further, or develop new ones.
So in this debate, over the years Iāve always fallen on the side that argues:
- The bump ship can be ganked (and they do get ganked)
- Counter bumping is possible (with another Mach, to get the Freighter/etc. moving to a warpable Target (Upwell structures are great now because of how many there are)
- Freighter Pilots should take more care to begin with (risk and or laziness are the root cause of the situation they end up in, and they donāt deserve to be protected from themselves).
I can totally understand the other side of the argument, and Iām glad itās there. It constantly challenges us all to continue to think through issues. So that is good, though I still at this point, donāt want to see this suspect change introduced.

Two flaw with this statement, they target all miners, not just Bots. Additionally, bots, do not buy permits. You are well aware of the twisted thinking here.

Hmmm, Iāve never looked closely, but Iāve never seen evidence of them killing compliant miners. CODE. are pretty transparent and straight forward about what they consider to be bot and/or bot aspirant behaviour, and from all the cases I have seen posted here on the forums since 2012, itās always involved something that was clearly against what CODE. believe in.
So Iām not arguing with you. Itās not for me to defend them. They seem well enough able to do that themselves. Just an observation from what Iāve seen.
However, this is beginning to drag the thread off topic, so Iāll get back to the issue of the thread and leave the side discussion alone.

Guess you have not hung around Kalorned and his crew. They kill nothing, but, active players. More specifically MRM miners. New bros litterally day old characters. Then they simply quit.
As stated before, there are ways this could be used and manipulated and that is the point. I would love to see what CCP could brain storm on this topic. So hence the reason it is being discussed here. The reality is none of us can make those changes. However, we can discuss the possibilities. Looks like all the CODE people just want to berate it so it would not happen. But, they should not worry, because it could work in their favor just as much as others. Thats the point a win on both sides is a Win and creates a crap ton of content. I never said, I wanted to get rid of the bumpers, just change how both sides play the game. Itās called innovation, which is what people keep saying, āADAPTā.
The easiest way for you to stop getting bumped is to leave highsec, as youāve been told multiple times. It is my firm belief that since you have not yet done so you should seek help.
