YC125.12.12 // ATHOUNON VI

A new and highly virulent disease, designated RCV-25A, has gripped the state of Qucrain, sparking widespread panic and prompting the declaration of a state of emergency by the Qucrainais State Assembly. The outbreak is believed to be linked to the crash of an unmarked shuttle in a residential zone over a week ago.

RCV-25A presents as a severe respiratory illness, initially marked by coughing, followed by signs of hemorrhagic fever. The disease progresses rapidly, leading to respiratory failure, dehydration, and organ failure, resulting in fatal outcomes. Thousands are currently on life support, but documented cases have shown a grim pattern of succumbing to the disease despite medical intervention.

Hospitals in Qucrain are struggling to cope with the rising number of cases, exacerbated by severe personnel shortages as medical staff succumb to the illness themselves. The Qucrainais Healthcare Committee has deployed AIMED units to mitigate further casualties among medical staff, but the scale of the outbreak poses significant challenges.

Efforts to develop a vaccine have faced obstacles, with the ongoing conflict against Taayusaka Corporate Security hindering reliable communication and collaboration with other free states on Athounon VI.

The timing of the shuttle crash, particularly its similarities to a previous incident caused by members of the Free Cieléclat Garrison, has raised suspicions and accusations of bioweapon usage. Many are pointing fingers at either Taayusaka Eskeitan or the Free Cieléclat Garrison, fueling a tense atmosphere in Qucrain as authorities grapple with both the outbreak and its potential origins.
