LUTESSE, MIES – Residents of the suburb of Roideron in the city of Lutesse in the Mies system were awoken in the early morning hours of Tuesday to the sound of low flying drop ships as a targeted cyber-attack left their local powergrid offline and unable to contact emergency services or access GalNet.
The drop ships converged on an industrial park where datapad footage taken from neighbouring apartments show black armoured figures armed with rifles disembarking or rappelling from the craft before assaulting a warehouse building.
The sound of automatic gunfire and explosions rocked the local area as figures in civilian clothing can be seen fleeing the warehouse before falling to the ground either dead or wounded.
The entire incident is believed to have taken approximately ten minutes before the black-clad armoured figures can be seen embarking their drop ships and then exiting the area into the morning darkness.
Services to the suburb of Roideron were restored within an hour of the attack and the site was cordoned off by local police who conducted their own investigation assisted by the Special Department of Internal Investigations who in a preliminary statement have uncovered that the warehouse had been used as a front for the Gallentia Primacy movement.
The local Lutesse Coroners Office has confirmed that 34 people have been killed in the attack all of whom are suspected to be members of the Gallentia Primacy movement who had entered the city under aliases and false identities.
The Intaki anarchist group the Zefil-Keram Compact has claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement released to Crux District anti-fascist GroupNets:
“We are the Zefil-Keram Compact and we are the martyrs of liberty.
Today the brave soldiers of our movement have struck a blow against the vile fascists of Gallentia Primacy and have spilled the blood of the scions of the hated Duvailer.
With daring and the songs of freedom stirring in our hearts we descended open the nest of tyrants hiding in Mies who dared thought themselves beyond the reach of our retribution and cut them down.
Do not look towards your government and the corrupt politicians who desire only to cultivate their own power and wealth or the police and military they keep on their leash to protect you from the hateful and vile movement that is the Gallentia Primacy.
The power is in your hands, join us, for only through violence do we break free from the chains of tyranny and fascism.”
The claim by the Zefil-Keram Compact has been corroborated by the Crux office of the Special Department of Internal Investigations who released their own statement today:
“On the 12th of December a warehouse facility in the city of Lutesse in Mies believed to have been used as a logistics hub by the Gallentia Primacy movement for attacks on government, military, and civilian targets in the Crux District was attacked by members of the terrorist group, the Zefil-Keram Compact that has left 34 suspected members of Gallentia Primacy dead.
The attack carried out by Zefil-Keram was initiated by a cyber-attack on local power and communications infrastructure that delayed response by authorities. This was then proceeded with by a kinetic assault conducted by armed operatives of Zefil-Keram of the warehouse used by Gallentia Primacy. Zefil-Keram were able to exfiltrate successfully after the attack due to a failure in orbital traffic monitoring made possible by their cyber-attack.
It is the belief of the Department that the attack was carried out for ideological reasons and the successful manner in which it was conducted within Mies is due to the financial, material, and training support received by the Zefil-Keram group from the Guristas Pirates over a months long period.”
The Zefil-Keram Compact has its roots in Intaki ultranationalist and anarchist movements present in the Solitude region and has seen a resurgence in recent months following the Federal intervention in the Intaki system.
Retired Federal Marine General Juilliam Tomincou who now works as a lecturer at the New Eden Institute for Security Co-Operation has his own opinion after seeing the footage of the attack:
“Whoever carried out this raid knew exactly what they were doing. They setup a security cordon and snipers to take out runners from the building. The kinetic breach was carried out with surprise, violence of action, and speed. These were professionals. I find it hard to believe this was carried out by terrorists or anarchists even if they were funded and trained by the Guristas. This operation reminds me more of corporate kill teams or Black Eagle Disposal Units.”
