LAMADENT III, SINQ LAISON

Defrocked Amarrian priest Balash Kavad presided over the opening service of the first temple of the Amarrian Orthodox Church, Sedevacantist in the border world of Lamadent III today. Reverend Kavad performed a variation of the Amarr liturgy before about 30 congregants, omitting the usual prayer for the sitting Empress and adding a prayer “for the Restoration of a True Emperor to the now-vacant Throne” in his own words. The temple, far and away the most lavish building in the depressed town of Roussillon where the population of Matari immigrants has doubled in just five years while unemployment tops 30%, was like the Sedevacantist Church itself funded by controversial capsuleer Nauplius, who announced the founding of the Church last week, although the lead time necessary to build the temple suggests Mr. Nauplius may have been planning the Church for some time.

During his sermon, Fr. Kavad left little doubt regarding one point of the Sedevacantist Church’s doctrine. “The Minmatar have taken your jobs,” he thundered, “trashed your streets, and seduced your womanfolk! They should be prostate, at your feet, chained, collared, and whipped — your eternal slaves! Come the Restoration, they will be!”

The words of Fr. Kavad, who had been removed from the official Amarrian Church a year ago following a sermon in which he praised the work of Mr. Nauplius, caused alarm among Roussillon’s Minmatar community. “They are going to kill us,” cried Sebiestor community organizer Sverker Knutsson. “Just look at the paintings and statues in that Temple — it is all Amarr murdering Minmatar.”

Reached for comment, Fr. Kavad replied, “Our statues and paintings depict scenes from the Scriptures where Amarrians do battle with Udorians. Only a godless heathen would confuse Udorians with Minmatar; any similarities between the two are entirely coincidental.”

The office of the official Amarrian church’s bishop for Aeman constellation refused to comment on today’s events.
