Rumours of Amarr's death have been greatly exaggerated

Probably the missing trades in Jita are simply the goods that are not getting moved to Amarr anymore.
As some people said, it will take a lot of time to actually understand the “fate” of Amarr, but even now if you don’t just look at general numbers, you can see that some stockpiles are starting to get sold, and items are no more in the market, or with very high prices.
Selling in Amarr is probably still fine for now (even if way slower than Jita) till more goods will get sold out, and people will get tired of not finding what they need. Buying as an industrial is different, because to me it looks like a lot less materials are arriving in Amarr recently even now, and it takes a lot longer to get what you need, compared to Jita (talking about buy orders)

So… is Amarr dead? In my opinion not now… but it doesn’t look very promising…

First, you would have to check the traded volume and prices.

What if in Amarr you have less traded stuff, but its more expensive because not enough competition and long routes to it from Jita?

Also what if in Jita there is a lot more competition and stuff is really cheap?
I see Amarr have some ludicrous prices on some items.

From customer point of view, Amarr is expensive. A lot better (cheaper) choice is to be close to Jita.

For Amarr to start thriving, it needs lower prices than Jita. Not low volumes of overpriced stuff. Whats worse, the buy orders in Amarr are underpriced. It is not very developed market that is really only for people who dont care about ISK when they buy stuff from sell orders…

Stable market with competition guarantees the best experience when buying or selling, and its Jita, more then ever perhaps. The pragmatic choice.

For investors who are not afraid to risk, there is Amarr.

From customer point of view, Amarr is a worse trade hub due to high prices, yes. For a trader it’s the opposite, especially if prices are going down in Jita.

But anyways, it’s true that if whatever activity you are doing doesn’t at all care how crowded the space is, it’s better to be close to Jita. But a lot of activities aren’t like that, for example DED sites or mining. So for people doing those activities moving to Jita is just not an option. And this means that Amarr does not need to have lower prices than Jita, it needs to have a bunch of space around it that has no alternatives for shopping, which is exactly what it does have.

But if you dont have customers because they will go to Jita, what you really gain, when you cant sell? Its a risk to invest because of that.

it needs to have a bunch of space around it that has no alternatives for shopping

People are not tied to a location by some law. If things cant be convenient enough, they move.

I’d say that was much more of the case before fall of Niarja, not the other way around.

For people living in Amarr space, there is no longer an easy alternative for Amarr. So they have to buy from Amarr, or move to Caldari space. And for a lot of people, the latter is not an option due to reasons I mentioned.

If you are doing DED sites or mining, what are you going to do? Go near Jita to compete with all the scrubs living there? Or just take the small loss, and shop from Amarr? It’s not like you lose ratting ships all that often in hisec.

I always did DED sites in Aridia and Amarr space, and selling everything in Jita. No matter the routes. The items are expensive and have low volumes. Cloaky cruiser is enough to move stuff fast enough. The selling of items there is convenient and I get constant and steady supply of ISK.

I think what may be the ONLY thing that is keeping some peeps around, they have bad standings with Minmatar, then what they would have to do is get enough standings with Minmatar to safely pass thru their space.

Exactly, you can move the loot yourself to Jita with a cloaky ship, or just hire Red Frog to haul them for you for the low price of 50 million (collateral up to 1.5b). There’s no need to live near Jita yourself.

How does that make sense? It’s not like just moving your stuff to Caldari space is such an impassable hurdle, especially with Red Frog around. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

But I didnt say its impassable hurdle.

I see people flying to amarr thru minmatar space and they are enemies of minmatar. But its inconvenient more than with safe passage because faction police still deals damage, and webs.

This things take time to change.

I already moved all my stuff to Rens…

… like years ago

Can you tell me what stuff is sold out? Iam happy do provide it

October economic report is out. Looks like trade in Domain has again risen about 10% or so.

EDIT: It’s 57.46T in October and September was 51.63T. So 11.3% to be exact.

then show us how much cost T2/T3 ships and modules in the same timeline

I mean surely someone will buy a little more. Just all the wormholers if the hole RNG doesn’t fit. Why not. But I don’t know if it’s good for the buyers. Most of the time everything is a bit more expensive.

Hmmmm …
… okay.

Yep, we do seem to be seeing the start of a trend.
It looks like you might be right about Amarr doing ok from this, as I’m not seeing the other smaller hubs having a similar movement, so it’s not prices on stuff going up.

The day will come when Amarr dies…when EvE dies…

What are you talking about? The whole point of removing Niarja was to encourage independent regional economies and stimulate growth outside of Jita. Nobody with a clue thought that was bad for Amarr.
