Let us not forget the possible loss of earnings during that period. Not everyone will get paid holiday or time off to do CSM things

Um, no. International corps pay for people to physically relocate so they can have face to face time. Even when their jobs can be done remote, they still prefer them on site. They do conference calls, yes, but even the smallest of international corps do quite a bit of international travel. For the record, I’m talking about corps as big as GE Aviation, and as small as a tiny concrete bagging company I know. International corps do international travel. A lot. In addition to everything else. Not unlike CCP and the CSM.

Sure, it costs less. That’s obvious. As for separating a person from their family, do you believe that CCP is forcing the CSM into leaving their families? Did the candidates not know this before they ran for election? They chose this. You’re grasping.
CCP clearly believe otherwise, or they wouldn’t be flying CSM members to Iceland.

There is no requirement/obligation in CSM terms of candidacy/office to travel to Iceland for Summits.

Nobody has to travel to Iceland for Summits.
They just need to attend online.
Salvos, you have stated multiple times in this thread, that ccp’s opinion on your candidacy is the only one that matters. and that our opinions on it are irrelivant. well its also ccp’s opinion that the CSM is worth the time and expense of flying them out for a face to face meeting. if our opinions on ccp’s decisions are irrelivant, what makes your opinions valid?

In my platform I’m not representing CCP, or CSM, in this candidacy.
I’m representing the playerbase that want the CSM program changed, and if necessary, disbanded.
There is a requirement, however, that you provide CCP with a copy of a valid passport, or documentation indicating you have applied for one.
That requirement seems superfluous if all aspects of the CSM can be done remotely.
and you have a portion of the playerbase in this thread, telling you that your platform is bad and that ccp is unlikely to even allow you to run. and your response has been that our opinions do not matter and that only ccp’s does. so since you are also just part of the playerbase right now. and by your own admission, the opinion of the playerbase doesn’t matter. why should your opinion be more valid than CCP’s?
