They just need to remove the entry fee into the event (800k per filament now). In theory it’ll cost 800k per site, assuming 10 NPC’s per site each player will need in effect around 70-100 mil prior investment to reach the reward cap. It’s a shame, cause the previous event had no such entry cost.
You would think that computer systems in 2018 would have programs that run and store analytics about the running processes from a clean running system of processes that is then correlated against a new build.
Obviously there is no such thing.
Feedback: After opening almost 500 triglavian cache data vaults, I’ve found no compelling reason to continue working at them. There is a minimal loss / gain of isk using the survey sheets, but at the cost of slower site running time as you orbit the can spamming the exchange button. I suspect there will be diminished participation in that aspect of abyssal site running as the day wears on to the point it isn’t worth the time CCP took to include it in the event. I suggest putting something else in the can besides survey sheets and lore items that have no apparent use. If there is a use for them forthcoming, it would be nice to know to keep us hamsters on that wheel.
really not too happy with this event, putting aside the loss of time and our work being discounted, and the rewards we didn’t get, because it wasn’t giving them, the more serious issue is that there is a considerable cost in running these, and there’s risk even at the lower levels, the rewards just seem to be completely out of balance. the trig data caches just don’t have anything other than the data chip and a few replacement surveys. the standard abyssal drop rate seems to be in play which means they just aren’t worth doing at the standard rate, and there are NO mission rewards dropping in site. I know we will be told they are “rare” so rare we never see them?
I have wasted a lot of time today, I will have another look tomorrow, but As it stands, this one has been an abject failure and more likely to put people off the abyss, rather than draw them in.
Thanks for priceless feedback , I planned to run them but then I read this . Back to the Havens then
The abyssal sites themselves are worth running in my opinion. The new mechanic of opening the loot can with survey sheets appears to be worthless. I just blow the can and scoop the loot as I head to the gate now.
The abyssal sites are just as rewarding as they are without the event. Being as the jury has already answered THAT question, It’s a shame to bring more people into it to discover exactly the same answer. The risk/reward is just the same, there’s nothing added here.
event is now showing since hotfix. However, tasks are not working for me, just completed 3rd calm dark and it still shows 9/10 for kills, and the last two sites have not triggered completion for the delve into the abyss task.
it may be worth another restart, I had the same issue
good call…
hehehe, are we re logging after each abyss site then?
Actually, today’s release was supposed to come out last Tuesday, and today’s event was supposed to start today. They weren’t supposed to be on the same day originally, but the patch got delayed 7 days.
Yeah, that happened to me once in July. Finally after 2 or 3 minutes of trying and trying to get the gate to work, it finally did. (I burned away from it, then back within 2500 meters, then tried to jump it again… took a few more tries but finally worked)
Eh, just avoid t4/t5. t3 would be bad to have the issue in as well. I think I had it in t2, so I had plenty of spare time for the gate’s failures for a few mins there.
…and this after an extra week to get the release sorted. Probably last week’s version made the hamsters cry blood tears…
it boggles my mind that theyre still pushing the agency when almost everytime they launch an event or do something with it, the thing is completely broken. the agency interface was a terrible mistake and whoever came up with the idea and forced it down everyones throats should be fired tbh.
I open the can, insert the sheets that I have, THEN I blow up the can for more loot.
Well, there was the agency EVENT window that was just for events (The Shadow of the Serpent event when it was called the SCOPE window… and then whatever event it was the next summer that began the Agency events)… and that was… well, good enough.
It’s when they started trying to throw everything else in the game into the same window with it (from mining/ratting/missions/epic arcs/incursions/agent finder/resource wars/event/etc.etc.etc./broken escalations, almost forgot that)… and decimated the old journal and agent finder… a cryin’ shame it was.
That’s when they went wrong.
I haven’t tried a site since the patch/event start, but… was wondering after reading other people talking about the two ways to loot if you can do both. HmmmMMMmmm…
Understood to grab the loot, but there is no apparent reason to insert the survey sheets. Minimal loss / gain in the exchange. Tested numerous sites. Obtaining 50 data caches per site. After opening them all there was a gain / loss of around 500k isk average. Time to profit will yield better results by just blowing the can and scooping it without stopping on the way to the gate. The Trinary datastreams appear to be worthless.
Lol sorry, but it’s hard to take a post serious if it ends with a random “should be fired”. Also the Agency is just the overall framework, Events are one part of it. The first Event ever, the Blood Raider thing back in 2016 was still the best. There were some very rare, but extremely worthy drops which led everyone to go mental. So many fights around those sites, it was really good. The mechanics of the Events themselves have been diversified since, which is good, but the pressure to compete went mostly down. That’s not good.
This specific Event, knows absolutely no competition. It’s like everyone grinds the same old Abyssal sites and gets a few extra things for doing so. Not very exciting.
On top of that, this Event is supposed to be the only source for Ancillary Mutaplasmids and as it stands now, the droprates seem to be low enough to have a good laugh about it.
October 2015, actually. And then Oct 2016 and then Oct 2017… Assuming they do another one this year in October (and I saw a video during AT16 with an event dev talking about them working on a September event AND an October event after this August event, so…), that’ll be the 4th straight Halloween/Blood Raider event.
Oldie but a goodie.
Because they are brand new, they don’t have a value yet. Time will tell how much they are worth.
