If you gank someone in high sec outside of there being a reason, such as a kill right or they being a full on flash criminal, Concord WILL get you.
Or did I miss yet another weird game mechanic switcheroo.
I recently found this amazing out of game tool:
highlight local, ctrl-c it, ctrl-v it into the tool and it does the homework. Fantastic.
To someone hauling on autopilot, gankers are less dangerous then gate rats. Just earlier today I saw some Battlecruiser get blown up by an EDENCOM gatecamp thingy in Sasta, after it had autopiloted all the route up from Providence… including the 160 CODE dessie Esescama.
I lost more mining ships to rats then to gankers, too.
A retriever is less expensive and provides more afk-yield then a hulk. AFK-ability is more important then yield. And price is important because when you’re not afk and want to mine elsewhere, for the price of one hulk you can buy you 4 retrievers and a travelceptor/condor/slasher/… , which enables you to leave some barges in the other system(s) and travelling between the mining systems with the frigate, saving you quite a bit of actual playtime over attempting to travel with a Hulk.
Eve has it’s arena PVP, too. It’s called PVP filaments
Rorquals aren’t going to die fast in an 1vs40. The difference of facing 40 blops, t3c, bombers, anticap dreads, …, and facing 4 of them is in fact insignificant to the amount of time it needs them to wreck the Rorqual as it’s defined by it’s invulnerability window rather then edps-to-ehp figures.
Safety doesn’t gank things that won’t refund their lost destroyers. All “law and order” talk is just talk. Fit some blue or green modules on the venture, and you’ll see how quick they can come for you.
Eve is a sandbox that among other things allows PVP.
No belts = no miners = no ganked miners
No escallations = no blingy escalation marauders = no expensive marauder killmails.
No income from market divergence trading = no greedy autopiloting freighters = no loot pinata
The more CCP nerfs the non-pvp elements of the game, the less pvp will remain. Other then PVP filament arenas with login-reward ships (Praxis/Gnosis/…) and/or cash store ships (destroyer/cruiser/frigate bundle pack) of cause.
True - you can play it for free - you can also pay to increase the rewards you get from playing or pay to buy planes, tanks, choppers or ships.
But it IS possible to play the entire game for free - it just takes longer to get ahead.

When a ship piloted by a human player attacks another ship that is piloted by a human player then that is PVP. What do you do with what you mine?
You did choose to play PVP because This is EVE Online. an MMORPG where everyone is occupying the same space and can be interacted with.
I am an “industrialist” in game I Mine and build ships for me and I get ganked every now and then just like anybody else in the game but that is because i wont be paying attention to what is happening in system. the vast majority of ganks can be prevented by just paying attention and reading the situation.
Who are more often than not my adversaries.
Economic warfare is valid.

What challenge? To play en entirely different game from the one they are interested in? Why would we do that? EVE is the game we enjoy, and has the types of player vs player interactions we enjoy. If you prefer arena PvP, that’s fine, but that’s not the only PvP out there. Your lack of interest/enjoyment of gameplay doesn’t make it non-existent or false, nor invalid for others to enjoy.

If you want fair PVP in EVE head over to the Abyssal Proving Grounds.
If you want to avoid being ganked while mining , then mine in a tanked battleship.
If you want to play War Thunder then go and play it.

EvE is a pvp game, plain and simple.
Also, play a real tank game, like world of tanks. I’ll meet you on the field with any tier.

War Thunder is not real PvP - it is arena combat, like professional wrestling.
Real PvP is unscripted, with the potential for permanent loss. In such situations, it is natural for the strong to dominate the weak.
Reminder that locator agents are a thing. Use a representative alt to protect your main when speaking on the forums
