The problem would be one of ccp if the expectations for a daily player count would be 25k and it would be 12k in reality…
We are two months into PvP quadrant, and playercount did not drop. Anyway, Skilling Spree in any form will lead to a rise in number of players.
LOL…
Sry but if you really believe that you surely don’t know the composition of the playerbase…PVP is minor but loud and thats all…
And pve in its majority simply dislikes pvp…
As I already said, you overestimate the connection between this event and PvP. Previous Skilling Sprees did not result in a market crash because of overabundance of loot, since playstyles did not really change.
You are like two cavemen clubbing each other over the head.
And this changes exactly what about my statement?
This only says if ,as i said ,pve will boycott this event and even pvp guys will ignore it ,even LESS players will do it…so what is your critique about my statement?
It won’t.
And how do you come to this interesting conclusion?
I don’t see any participants of this boycott, except of you. And miner strike over their changes did not happen.
This is a normal conversation without taunting or insults…we all know you are not used to this civilized way of talking
Just more ways to support cyber bulling fuktards like code. And did they bother to explain if this new spree will override the ccpd blowing up your ship if in HS?
Of course it won’t.
Far from trying to downplay the importance of some of the pve aspects (mostly the industrial part), your statement may hold true only on character level, not per se on player level. There’s no easy way of telling …
Many players hold several accounts (like OP, btw), with specialty characters. Many if not most die-hard pvp’ers have a pve source of income to fund their main activity or are in organizations that marry both competencies and redistribute goods like ships for their organization’s purposes.
If you’re not into pvp, that is perfectly acceptable. Denying that pvp is equally important is not reasonable.
I’ve played for the better part of a decade. I still look with amazement at the old MoMA video we had on display and wonder how much I really now about this game. I suggest you take a look and try to place yourself in that universe. Then consider if this pvp event is really so important to you after all or if you have new things in the game to discover.
But having a constructive discussion about “how” to include everyone in an event comes with the supposition that including everyone is good and desirable and, in this specific case, the group you’re trying to come up with ways to include is a group that has effectively opted out of inclusion.
Where’s the line drawn on making events accessible to “all” playstyles? Some playstyles don’t PvP. Some don’t PvE. Some don’t even undock.
Maybe it’s just okay if some content is not available to some people, especially when the barrier to entry is self-imposed.
You heard it here first, kids.
IF theres a 70% drop in numbers during this spree, hes right
If not, what then?
What makes you think it would?
Yeah, that’s what I said a few weeks ago and a few supposedly know it all posters disagreed with me.
Basically they said the increase is negligible and doesn’t impact the player log-in numbers since those Skilling Spree tasks are usually completed very quickly.
No, it is just an expectation by a wellknown idiot. There is absolutely no reason for players to not login or cancel their subs because of this event. No player by its right mind at least. There is combat in this game and this event will not cause all of a sudden an increase in the number of players participating in combat. The carebears will continu to carebear and the combateers will continu to combateer. And the combateers will gather some extra worthless SP. So it goes.
FFS Balos your level of stupidity is astounding.
I find the suggestion that a bunch of PVE people would not log in or would quit due to this event ludicrous.
First off as many already said, a hardcore PVEr has the choice to not participate.
But then they whine that this will necessarily subject them to increased unwanted PVP. That idea is a load is crap because the event doesn’t say “get sp for killing whiny carebear PVEr” it says the event is for PVP kills in general which includes the huge amount of PVP that is mutual or expected due to location, war etc. Most PVP is not suicide ganking and there are plenty of easier ways to get sp from PVP than suicide ganking.
The whiny carebears can rest easy as the only thing that will likely happen to them is just them not participating but not an increase in how PVP effects their daily lives. If they were killed by PVP during the event likely it would have happened anyway even without the event.
It would be nice if it got more people trying out something new for a change. Honestly the spree of sprees was getting very stale and boring, I like that this one may spark some players to get out and shoot something, even if it is only duels with friends. I doubt very much the rules will constrain people to only shoot at the unwilling.
To be fair, the previous sprees were already forcing pvp only people off to shoot rats, so it is not as if the sprees didn’t already force people out of their comfort zone.
