Skills for kills event

If you mine ore and ice, you risk getting blown up by gankers at any moment. Mining is PvP. If you do exploration and data sites, you risk getting blown up by players competing for those same sites. Exploration is PvP. If you run missions, you risk getting blown up by gankers looking for mission runners. Mission running is PvP. If you never leave the station and play the trading game, other players are constantly trying to outbid and outsell you. The market is PvP. You can’t get away from it. EVE has been like this since day one. Welcome to EVE…

I will be interested in seeing the rewards.

If it is only 10k then it is too much hassle to kill anything but my alts.

If it is more than 10k then all my alts must die! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Not this one. Just because a small minority of people who play what is thoroughly a PVP game don’t want to engage in PVP doesn’t mean that they deserve special treatment, nor is it discriminatory not to give them special treatment.

I have no problem with this.

… my ridiculous entitlement. I refuse to PvP in a PvP game and as a fool I will now complain about how I am being “marginalised” and shall be instructing my space-lawyer to write a stern letter to The Court Of Human Rights regarding this clear and unacceptable discrimination!

Of course it will be! I for one can not wait to pointlessly blow up my alts with other alts repeatedly each and every day in order to pointless squeeze out a tiny amount of SPs that will make little-to-no difference to my overall queues.
Btw - that wasn’t sarcasm. I mean yes it started out that way but now I have gone through it I have to say that if it is a worthwhile amount of SPs as a reward then hell yeah I am going to milk the sh1t out of this

Shut up Balos.

So… from the market where players compete against each other for the sales as well as the ‘getting them from data sites’ where you will often fight another player or you buy it from someone else who had to fight another player? So… there is your invention-PvP nicely pointed out for you

Shut up Balos.

Is there a reason for one to not simply gather a few friends and just blow each other up in Kestrels? Or your own alts?

soo I have not read every single post in great detail, but do I get the impression everyone so far has posted about the fairness of getting sp from pvp kills but leaving pve players cold or similar complaints. So no one thinks that sp magically acquired from the ether for killing someone else is a bad thing/ ? and un evelike. I know im beating a dead horse and that horse was called EVE but …sigh

I guess CCP has seen the last of my cash then. It’s bad enough I have to deal with ass clowns who think I am their content when all they are getting is isk, but now the game with reward them with SP as well.

I’ll stay docked for a month and let my subs run out. Whoever thought this was a good idea should be made to find a new job. Things like this is what will kill this game. Why would anyone sub when being an alpha and suicide ganking is better financially and now through bonus skill points.

Everyone who plays EVE is content for someone…

You’re aware there’s LITERALLY a campaign going on RIGHT NOW where you can get SP from killing NPCs, right?

I don’t get this mentality. PvE pilots literally have an event for them right now where they’re getting SP. Then CCP makes an announcement giving PvP players their turn. And all of the PvE players start freaking out about how it’s unfair or “leaves pve players cold” or something.

You have your event!! It’s going on RIGHT NOW!! And when someone else gets a turn, it’s not okay? You need MORE?

Nobody is magically excluded from being content for others, regardless of how they choose to play the game; this is the cornerstone of Eve.

If you can’t accept this then Eve is not the game for you.

CCP needs to change their EULA when installing the game with a huge, full-screen disclaimer that you have to read and accept before you can even install the game. You WILL get killed by NPC’s. You WILL get killed by players. You WILL get scammed. You WILL get robbed. You WILL get harassed. You WILL get trolled. Click here to accept these terms, or EVE installation will not proceed. At that point, you rescind your ability to post whines about these things on the forum…

People who PVP will still PVP. But those who wants to get the SP, will just make a deal and shoot each other’s alts in a Corvette.

Waiting for high sec business oriented players to setup a service to ‘Duel’ them for isk. Pay them isk, they duel you, you ‘skill’ them in their corvette. Both profit.

To be fair it just seems to be this one person, who I’d guess is just trolling. In the case that he’s not…

@ OP: I was running combat sites in hisec today and lost two of them to people in Gilas and Stratioses because they had better ships. There may have been no killmails, but guess what that kind of activity was? I’ll give you a hint; not PvE.

I quite often snipe rats quicker than other players while flying a Cormorant. But I do not consider that pvp, but just minding my own business, with little regard to others.

It’s not literal PvP in the fact that you’re not shooting their ship, but you’re still denying them the bounty and loot they could have got by killing it. You can consider it whatever you like, but you’re still performing an action that benefits you to the detriment of another player.

Combat sites have the potential to drop modules worth hundreds of millions of ISK, even in hisec. I’d consider that PvP if someone outgunned me to that ISK (and that’s in fact why I like running them in lowsec more, because I can shoot them without CONCORD coming to save them)

I even noticed some kind of sharing. In Jita area people sometimes come to the combat sites, kill the number of rats they need and warp off without finishing the site. Regardless, some sites last shorter than a minute because usually more than one player warps in.

There is a difference between taking what you need and openly attacking another player. Different mindset.

Not every player participates in pve.

So there’s been ‘discrimination’ both ways.

Not every character logs in every day. More blatant discrimination.
