Slave 1, or Spit in the face of nanny corporations to support Boba Fett!

This thread is like Hotel California. You can check out, but it seems like you can never leave.

This is probably the smartest thing you’ve said in this entire thread. An even smarter move would be to contact ISD and have them lock this thread before you embarrass yourself further.

Ah… here we are… the left censoring commentary… I knew that was going to come up sooner or later. It was just a matter of time. By the way, you should know you brought up fascism in your OP. Fascism is a right wing political ideology. Which brings us to this comment:

Its not just you complaining about the name change. Its the other terms you use. Its how your phrase things. Don’t make me go all Hotch on you. Seriously, you can figure out a lot about people based on the language they use. And frankly, you’re easier to read than most.

Going back to Sisko and Janeway, these characters were already being attacked before the first episode of their respective shows were even aired. And the complaint always came back to “the hiring is a diversity ploy”. Never mind these people never looked into Avery Brook’s extensive theater background. Before his run on DS9, the man had some of the best acting credentials one could ask for… but a certain group of people only talked about him being hired for the sake of diversity…

To answer your first question: yes, I can blame them. They had not yet seen one episode and they were already complaining about the hiring; just like they did with Star Trek Discovery. They had already judged the hiring of Avery Brooks and Kate Mulgrew as “diversity hires” without seeing one episode. And I’d bet most of them didn’t know about Brooks’s background in theater either… but they had judged him a “diversity hire”… so, yeah, I blame them. As for Janeway and Sisko being accepted, the keyword in your statement is the last word: now. They had to prove they were worthy of the roles… Stewart’s hiring wasn’t really questioned other than the huge age difference between him and when Shatner played Kirk. But no one really complained about it, they waited to see how the character turned out. And that’s the difference, Stewart was accepted without having to prove himself.

Yeah, and Khan supported principles. So did the Founders. Going back to the word you used incorrectly: fascists have principles. Just principles most people claim they don’t support or agree with.

So, let’s talk about intellectual capacity. An example of having intellectual capacity is the ability to provide evidence to support your argument. In an intellectual discussion, the person who asserts something is expected to actually provide evidence to back their assertion. So, let’s talk about one of your assertions:

You’ve said this before. And I asked you for a citation… and you didn’t provide one. You just went on with your argument fallacies. So… to show my intellectual capacity, I’m going to counter your assertion with actually evidence. Because I don’t need argument fallacies. Let’s go to the Star Wars subreddit. Let’s search for “Slave-1”… and let’s see what comes up. Well, here’s the two biggest threads about it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/comments/o946wf/the_slave_1_is_still_called_the_slave_1_in_canon/

https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/comments/o90s6y/so_slave_1_is_no_more/

When you go and look, there are very few people who are actually pissed about it. Most of the discussion is “they are doing this because its a toy for kids, who cares?” And a bit of discussion about how often the name was actually used… and all of those references go to the Clone Wars cartoons.

Again, be smart… ask ISD to lock this before you say something else and I have to correct you…
