[SoERR] Assistance in the current Empire crisis

I assure you that I can supply the pancakes.

When you become CONCORD you get to tell us free Matari capsuleers what we can and can’t do.

You are of course welcome to TRY stopping us but, that would be most unwise.

Will you commit to delivering them personally, on demand?

Status update

Due to interference with communication beacons by PIE, I have now resorted to putting up an Astrahus on Thebeka III orbit with the official EM banners and beacons. This Freedom’s Gate will, I hope, help us keep available the information where individuals who wish to find their way to aid and freedom can go.

As to accusations in this thread, it is of course the case that an operation flying in Electus Matari colors will draw individuals wishing to join the rebellions. It is also natural, that we do know of some parties to send them to. It is, I hope, also obvious that I do not consider this a problem either personally or professionally.

It is our policy that people coming to our shelters are not asked questions or proof of origin, but transport will be provided to anywhere in high-security space that is willing to take them, and we are sticking to that.

I am aware how this will indeed seem like a “freedom fighter recruitment drive and pancake breakfast” (thank you for those words). So be it.

The humanitarian bases are well stocked for supplies and the influx of refugees is at a steady, manageable phase. Our sincere thanks to all who have participated so far.

PS.

I can consider that offer when you clarify to me what you think pancakes are code for.

I thought they were just actual pancakes. I usually just say what I mean.

Personally is a bit tough. I’m fairly sure the Republic police would attack me even were I not in an enemy militia.

Then no.

Then could somebody please explain what the hell a pancake is?

I think it’s code for freed slave.

I don’t understand how that makes sense, but okay. Thanks.

It’s not a code for anything as far as I know; it’s a dessert.

But after seeing this thread, multiple people have approached me thinking it is code for something, so before discussing the offer, I had to check.

I would pay to see this

Captain Rhiannon,

In light of The Ghosts of Kahah Raitaru in Thebeka being reinforced and in the face of the obvious corruption of the Empire, a number of nonessential Raitaru personnel—both Ammatar and some survivors from Kahah—have expressed interest in seeking asylum in the Republic. Would you accept these evacuees?

Well, see, I’d be willing to commit to taking no hostile action against PIE[1] if you were to commit to that. And my citadel’s not in the Republic.

  1. ‘Hostile Action’ is defined as the activation of ship-based modules of an aggressive or destructive nature against vessels flown by PIE, and does not include activation of modules such as shield boosters in the event of PIE taking aggressive action. I mean, I’m not gonna let you kill me… or my crew… or passeng—you know what, let’s just go with ‘people’—just to demonstrate a lack of hostility.

Absolutely. We do not ask for origin nor reason for needing shelter from anyone.

Everyone would have to be unarmed while in our premises, though. We can securely store any weapons on station and in transit and hand them over after the fact.

Why are you so interested in me personally delivering pancakes to you, Director Culome?

What’s the difference if I have somebody else drop them off?

Having them delivered just seems so… insincere. I mean, next you’ll be saying you’d have someone else make them.

What’s your definition of “neutral parties that are actually welcome in our space”?

Asking for a friend.

Technically, she’s only committed to providing the pancakes. She’s made no promises as to the provenance, components, quality, or method of delivery of said pancakes.

…and I’m defending her logic. Brb, need a very long soak.

Technically, she hasn’t even committed to that, only asked if that would secure certain parties’ non-intervention. My own statements were a counteroffer, which I am in the process of clarifying.

Well, individuals and groups who don’t a have a more than decade long history of violent acts against Amarr targets like EM does would be a start.

In general, organizations that have committed acts of war against Amarr at any point in the past are not going to be treated as neutrals by PIE.

In general terms, we wouldn’t care if a foreigner disapproved of our culture and institutions, so long as they never acted on that disapproval by committing illegal acts against Amarr.

I seem to remember there being a whole lot of cryin’, wailin’ and gnashing of teeth when I made it clear I would consider Imperial loyalists in Muttokon hostile targets. I guess it’s suddenly completely different when it’s Minmatar among Amarr.
