you wouldn’t have time to press the button, or we would force you to press the button and just gank you on the other side of the gate when you think you are safe again, buttons like these have a cool down in game so they cant be spammed, so in the end you will still die.
Cilla came first, but Altara is now the main account…having hugely more skill points and engaging in combat with increasing frequency.
I like how people’s memory is soooo short.
Solution to what? CCP did it by themselves boosting artillery/hybrid and reducing shield/armor resists in one deploy.
It’s the game design, it’s working as intended.
FFS stop whining so much, at least troll a little for the fun aspect of it.
This same statement could be said about the miner. “Miners are lazy and stupid and reap the benefit of others with no effort”
Assuming that the people here complaining about highsec gankers are serious, the best thing to do to avoid gankers is understand the perspective and play style of gankers to know what annoys them, and what blocks them.
I recommend watching MacGybo’s youtube channel. I have learned tons about ganking game play from watching his channel.
The “solution” to being ganked is not an “I win” invulnerability button, but understanding how ganker’s play, and how to avoid them, and make what makes you less of a target.
But, but, that takes time effort and work. Why should I have to increase my knowledge base for a game that I play for entertainment purposes. I shouldn’t have to put in any effort, and I shouldn’t have to pay attention to the screen when mining or hauling. I should be able to turn the game on in the background, ignore it while I watch Netflix and expect it to reward me.
So, I disagree. What we need are account settings that when aggressed in high sec, activates an invulnerability field that makes it impossible for gankers to ruin my inattentive gameplay style. Hell, I’d even pay CCP $11.99/month to have that setting unlocked.
I’ve been in the game 8 months in 3 toons and in that time I have been ganked once…6 weeks into the game. And that was my own fault for not paying attention.
These days I travel all over the place, highsec, lowsec, and nullsec, mine in various systems I consider safe, attack flashy people, take part in corporation fleets, and have billions of ISK. I have over 100 ships in several dozen systems, and regularly pass gankers at gates and wave to them. As for skills, this toon is Level V on many. It is easy to ‘get somewhere’ in Eve…but I think a lot of people are afraid to and blame the game rather than stepping out and taking risk.
You are playing the game wrong if you are cowering away from gankers and seeing them as some all-pervading threat. Just add them to bad standing so you can spot them in Local, and if you have some particularly important stuff to transport send a scout in advance ( in a shuttle for example ). In fact it pays to do lots of scouting trips all over the place anyway…so you familiarise yourself with different systems and who is likely to be there.
None of which guarantees you won’t ever get ganked…but you’ll see them in the rear view mirror more often than not.
The idea that one almost inevitably ends up poor and huddled in the corner of some station gibbering about the ganker threat is just nonsense.
Indeed. Whilst some gank for lolz…groups like Safety operate on a cost/benefits basis. They are unlikely to waste a dozen Catalysts on some 5m ISK destroyer. Their targets are mainly Retrievers or haulers with expensive cargo. I usually sail right past them in my high EHP Gnosis…even when carrying cargo ( the ship is actually good for hauling small expensive stuff ), knowing that even in 0.5 Uedama it would take 7 or 8 of them to defeat me…and of course my scout will have checked in advance whether there are 7 or 8 of them there. If there are then I just park at Sivala and log in another toon that can go mining for a bit. That is how to avoid being ganked.
I somehow find this comment not true,
EG;
“whenever you have thoughts of going turncoat on us lol i’d prefer to keep you in the friend catagory rather then the try to make your gameplay so miserable that you uninstall catagory lol”
Thread #10,482,912 whining about gankers.
/yawn
Mean gankers. Somebody should round them up and give them a slap on the wrist and tell then how awful they are for blowing up pixilated spaceships in a spaceship oriented game centered around pvp mechanics.
Very naughty people.
CCP, you really should get on that.
I could ask a hauler for his ship and he would give it to me and then people would complain that conversations are broken and CCP should nerf typing
Worth a read: http://www.tnellen.com/westside/harrison.pdf
Stop giving them ideas (even sarcastically), based on their recent track record they might actually do it.
I’m very concerned that CCP hasn’t been bothered to contact local and international police investigative services to track these horrible people down.
These people should be held accountable for all the undo stress and heartache they cause in a completely optional and elective activity.
Unsure what number of conclusions you were attempting to extract from that context-less excerpt, but while you figure all that out I’d be happy to provide such context, and well, given the level of tantrum you appear to be having about us of late makes your response all the more hilarious…
They don’t blame the game on their ineptness. They blame other players for it, and expect CCP to come in and coddle them and pander to their self importance and entitlement mentality.
Pretty sure ganking is a myth.
The only ‘entitled’ persons i encountered in the game are gankers. And they always seem to think their gameplay and enjoyment is more important than anyone elses. So shut it with those dumb arguments.
They could even make a plug-in big red button so you can just smash down on it say for £19.00 from the eve store.
With a long cable you don’t even need to get up from watching Netflix
