Some thoughts on dealing with hi-sec Triglavian recons squads

So if another player character attacked you on undock, you would be fine with it or would you then complain that you became involuntarily involved with PvP?
Beginning to think that any threat to your ship and you in HS causes an issue for you. Risk free HS is NOT in the future for EVE. Threat awareness and mitigation will always be a core aspect of this game.

and yet you asking to do pvp “only when you want” is the opposite of this game’s content.

No, please reread what i typed.

I read it ans you specifically said “you pvp when you want” .

Which is the opposite of the content provided in eve online : you may pvp whenever you undock.

Again trig is pve.

again : your sentence about you doing pvp whenever you want is wrong, thus your point that relies on this statement is also wrong.

Why are you focusing on the pvp part. This thred is about pve. If i am wrong or not about pvp doesnt say anything about trig.
And my sentence is not wrong because that is what ccp sells. Where does it say its pvp only game?

Because it’s wrong and you rely on it.
You relying on wrong ideas means you whole argument is wrong.

Allow me a different approach.

  1. Lets say i am wrong and you are right, no big deal for me really, my sub is ending and i leave in a few days because i missunderstood the content of this game. Can happen, no bad blood im going to play barbie online.
You as an eve player do you win or loose out of this?

  2. Compare eve to world of tanks. Doesnt eve offer more than wot? Because wot is pvp/pve only game. Is eve same as wot? Because i play both and didnt see anyone complaining about beiing attacked in wot. What you think why do ppl, except of me, me being dump so it doesnt count. Why do ppl complain in eve and not in wot?
My point is that ccp should deliver what they advertize. This pvp/barbie/pve mix does in my opinion more harm than good. Everything changes as time pass why shouldnt eve change?

I win.
People who don’t try to get the grasp on the game and keep spouting things like “I do what I want when I want” do not bring anything positive to the game.
Go play a solo game.

No. Just no. Go back to WoT…

I have a Battleship Guard-dog, using small turrets.

Try not to laugh.

2 webs, a painter, & enough tank. I can take out 4-wave Trigs Frigate spawns before needing to back off.

No-doubt there will be a better version of this ship with time, but for now she’s holding.

grappler maybe ?

Web plus grappler maybe. The painter does an obvious job.

After that it’s tracking. Medium Pulses?

Mad-science sure, but Trigs are tricky.

just keep at range 2000m with AB on and the rat will try to get away so you will follow it in a straight line.
You can even use large guns when a frig is grappled+webbed.
Still using lower variation may lead to higher DPS (and faction ammo for tracking)
The real issue is the lock time and slow speed.

So far they take the fight & don’t run.

its not about taking the fight or not, it’s about the AI of the rats. They try to orbit you at a given range, so if you are closer than that range they just try to get out and if you are faster than them, they keep going in a straight line and you can shoot them easy.
If you allow them to be out of their orbit range they will have angular and thus you can miss them.
If you can grapple+web them, and keep at range 2000m, you don’t even need the painter, so you can replace it with a sebo II

for the raznaborg :
npcBehaviorMaximumCombatOrbitRange(2786)=6000.0 ø

Thank you for all useful information.

Did you find any way how to effectively deal with “leave the last one” to prevent them re-spawning?

Currently there is no way to “clear the system” even for some tiny window of relative safety. When entire group is killed then they immediately respawn and quickly appear back (it looks that they are chasing players?).

Leaving the last trig alive means that it will continue shooting and ultimately force non-combat ships to warp off.

I was thinking about sort of “hostage keeper” ship, cap stable, with tank regen sufficient to tank single trig indefinitely. Apply triple webs on it that it does not go anywhere and keep it out of range.

Then other ships can continue their hauling or mining in the system…

But this means one account fully allocated to this task making entire idea quite stupid. Maybe there are better ways to prevent them to respawn?

I’d like to see some mechanism to force the recon squads / emerging conduits away. For example if you close enough emerging conduits / kill enough waves of recons in a particular system then that system suffers no more for 48 hours or something.

Exactly this. It does even not have to be 48 hours but just give some time when they system is clean from them after successful fight.

Or make triglavian recons to actually travel from somewhere like from conduit or inbound gate so you can gatecamp them and stop early. Now they appear magically just out of nowhere in random place.

Do they enter Mining missions as well?
