Maybe they’re just limited to Hacking sites because I haven’t encountered any of them in combat sites.
I’ve had that happen in a data site as well as
According to my observation those Triglevian ships only appear in systems near Triglevian invasions. So my question to you: Have you ever considered to move your mining operations just a few systems away if a Triglevian invasion is near?
Furthermore, it seems that the invasions are more frequent in densely inhabited high-sec space. Maybe you should also consider moving to less inhibited high-sec (e.g. Minmatar space) to reduce the Triglevian pressure on you?
Tbh…i have a good HS 0.5 Moon in my alt. And if my mining Char in 0.0 cant mine in a Rorq (because of high neut activity or) i Clone Jump him into HS and he mines my Moon or in a normal belt.
I use my old, self proofed, Null sec mining fit.
And i dont have any problems to tank or kill trigs.
My Orca is dealing a little over 600 dps and can shield buffer until they are dead.
I can see the problem in smaler mining ships with less tank.
But on The other hand…we have a guy here in 0.0 with a procurer and he can alone tank and kill a belt spawn with 3 battleships and 2 destroyers. And he is just properly fitted and i bet that spawn is more dps and takes longer to kill for him than a trig spawn in hs
So i just Think much frustration comes from bad fitted barges and orcas. And not so much experience.
I discovered the Triglavian recons quite by accident. I had returned as an alpha and promptly had my Venture popped by them. I saw them warp in, but I didn’t pay any attention to them, figuring they were belt rats, first volley I was in structure, no chance to warp or anything.
That being said, I set out to mine properly after that. They are a fair challenge, but if you are properly tanked and use t1 light drones they can be defeated pretty easily.
I suggest using a skiff, with a passive tank, load it up with t1 light drones and you should be ok. Perhaps you will have to warp out once but they are not going to insta gank you.
There are a lot of good tips in this thread, set your shield alarm to go off as soon as you take light damage, which order to kill the spawn in, etc.
Cmon guys, no reason to leave EVE, you just have to adapt.
Cat.
What’s the difference from PVP gankers, the Trig Recon is more or less the same. They use similar tactics as gankers, but tend to see the fight out if engaged.
These fleet as i understand it were designed to take on BOT miners, and its a players own fault if they appear to be like a BOT’er by being afk.
Lot’s actually.
For one, actual player ganks often end up in some sort of communication. Probably many times it is salty but it is an interaction. Trigs are mindless NPC’s They don’t say gf. They don’t explain to a new player why it happened, or give them pointers on how to be better. They just tend to frustrate.
Beyond that, unlike real player gankers, the trigs instantly respawn when killed. You can get a reprieve from a player if they take a break, wait out their timers etc. The trig spawns are never not patrolling when they are active in a system.
Did you see that from an Official source?
I believe it was implemented to encourage group play. A proper Mining Fleet should be able to easily deal with Trig scouts. And when I say proper, I’m talking about having boosted defensive combat ability, either from their own Drones or from a support group of combat ships.
Since those Trig scouts only appear in systems containing an Emerging Conduit anomaly site, the support group of combat ships for the mining fleet should be working on removing those sites right from the start.
nothing official.
there was a comment made by CCP about cracking down on BOT’er and that they were going to be doing something about it. and not too long after that we started seeing the Recon Fleets.
I believe the Emerging Conduits were released after the Invasions and the Recon Fleets (in that order)
Oh I don’t doubt it, CCP also keeps saying they want players to form fleets.
I know one thing is for sure, CCP usually does the exact opposite of what they say they’ll do.
In a small Corp. you can not always be in a fleet, my Orca is ganked tanked, with 2x mine reps and one shield rep for my fleet. Every one knows it is not safe unless your docked, even in high sec.
A paying customer should be able to mine in high sec and tank the rats, with out having to totally sacrifice out put of a Exumer.
There are some game mechanics that are sacred and should not be messed with.
I am not in to bad mouthing CCP, I am only posting as it is hurting newer players that are going to say F___ it if I cant even mine. Like I said before if some one is willing to pay you to target a roid and keep doing it, you might want to keep them happy as they help to pay the bills.
For veterans it is content, for care bears it is a deal breaker and they will leave.
Balance
There is room in the sand box for all of us. I can adapt, they will leave the game.
I am Not like the people that are always posting in the forums and threatening to unsub accounts.
They will just disappear, that is when I will BLAST CCP in the forums for poor customer appreciation. Retain my mates!
Make a place where they can have a corner in the sand box, and continue to learn how the complexity of this game keeps it’s fans coming back to learn new things every day.
Or is this a game that only caters to the elites, simple people that just want to crack a roid cant play in our box? Can not play Solo?
I do not get that vibe from the people that I have played with and can not imagine it is a Corporate policy.
Good job CCP on getting rid of Botters, leave the rookies alone!
Other problem is more basic. We know what mean “emerging conduit” and many times that systems are not able to mining, but is not intuitive or clear for beginners.
BYE! Thanks for the memories!
just lost my vargur at undock… after a few Moments of loading the game my marauder was dust duo the 30 trigs outside the Station they killed me bevore game was even loaded for me… could ccp Change at last that Thing?? i mean UNDOCK!!! not warping not mining not Fighting… some have longer loading times at undock then others and they just die without beeing able to do a Thing.
First it sounds more like an invasion system than the random roaming trig groups referenced in this thread.
Second, maybe you might want to look at upgrading your potato if you are lagging that bad on the undock.
If you are an alpha in a venture then I have some sympathy, but if you are an omega in a barge/exhumer/porp/orca then presumably you know what you are doing and can adapt.
There are opportunities for alphas to mine in peace, trigs do not go to ore anoms and also you can handle the easier combat sites in a venture and often mine the roids you can find in them. Both have opportunities for loot/salvage and faction drops.
Even better, alphas can gas huff, even hisec gas is on average better isk than even Dazzling spod and just one venture load of lowsec gas is worth better than 30 mill, not to mention the gas in wormholes.
Demanding that your AFK gameplay should be protected cuts no mustard feller.
The one common element I’ve noticed from this thread are people switching from Retrievers\Covetors and their T2 variants to Procurers, Skiffs. Myself included. This seems to be a problem from a logistics stand point.
These recon groups have effectively lowered the usefulness of 5 hulls. Unless your in a system without a Emerging Conduit these hulls seem pointless now. Venture\Retrievers\Covetors\Mackinaw\Hulks Not sure about the Expedition frigate class but as they are frigates, I bet they are just as vulnerable. Makes you wonder where this is headed.
Well it is an invasion. They are generally disruptive.
I don’t do serious mining now but if I did I probly would use a skiff + MTU and/or jetcan rather than my trusty Hulk and the same technique for solo bulk mining. I have used all the mining ships (except Rorq) and choice is always situational anyway, there will be times when its safe to use a ret/mack such as ore anoms and cov/hulk are really best for fleet where u’ll hopefully have some cover anyway.
The Endurance is a fantastic ship, often overlooked, I used it a lot for solo ice mining in null, agile + cloak and nice dps with T2 drones and a DDA. U could certainly adapt it to hisec mining in belts with the ore laser that uses crystals, can’t remeber its name.
Prospect is really just a gas boat IMO, can’t handle rats except by hiding under cloak. Only time I’ve used it for mining is raiding moon belts in lowsec.
All great advice, but missing one key thing!
If they fail to monitor Overview and DeepScan, any advise is next to useless.
