Some thoughts on dealing with hi-sec Triglavian recons squads

I dunno what “DeepScan” You mean but yeah if you ignore overview advises won’t help much… but then it’s not like you could do much in EvE when ignoring overview…

I’m guessing he means d-scan (which is directional not deep).

Well if he did, he’s kind of being silly because you can completely deal with all hi-sec non-pvp content and most of hi-sec pvp without relying on D-scan… especially when mining in high sec if you react to triglavians when they warp in to the grid (pop up on the overview tab) you should be able to at least warp out unharmed. And in case of mining in places where they don’t spawn at all - well no need to monitor dscan either.

This is great stuff. Game content that forces you to actively play, make decisions and compromises, rather than login , set it and forget it then go watch netflix. brings the game to life. Alot of corps out there that cannot be war decced. gotta give em something to worry about.

that would be most excellent. every high sec ice system is plagued by mulitibox miners with not a care in the universe. i’ve been away for awhile and having come back i now see freighters in the ice field as well!! that’s a bit much imo. a little trig lovin would be wonderful.

My corp’s home system generated an FOB that hung around for over a week. Finally got a bunch of us together to blow it away. Two days later, yet another FOB. SIgh. Still, we have moons every day and the RECONs don’t go near moons…yet (give CCP time for that one). Best solution we’ve found? Jump to the next system and mine away in peace.

My one and only question.
Can a Thrasher take out the scout groups or is it a waste of time?

That’s a good question.

I’m thinking you’re referring to doing it solo so probably not.

Indeed I was thinking of Solo. I’m now researching into a Battleship, which will take some time but I hear that can handle the Triglavian groups.

This is what I use to kill the recons. It can easily take down a full squad of 5 with half shields remaining. It is also a darn good mission runner breezing through L3’s.

I’m hoping the picture shows up. This is what I kind of plan on using.

that’s a ■■■■ fit.

You need webs to apply, your extenders are completely useless because of shield booster, etc.

This is good info. I’m not a good fitter.

whats more, that the part of the forum dedicated to “mining & extraction”. I guess there should be a forum for trig killing.

You probably are correct however, since there aren’t many, this one will do. I’ve alterred my simulation a bit into a tech 2 version vs a tech 1 version. Would this work better?

bottom left corner => import & export, copy to clipboard. Then paste it here, put it in fixed (monospace) font, hide it so people don’t have an ugly text feces waiting to gank them.

You have both artillery and AC => 1 suckpoint
You have I guess purger or extender rigs => 1 suckpoint
You have 2 extenders, one shield recharger, two flux coil => 10 suckpoints
You have a web and no grappler, while fighting in grappler range => 1 suckpoint.

What you need : cap battery (because they dry you), grappler + 2 webs. rigs can be solidifier if you use large T2 booster, cap rig if you use x-large (or overclock if needed ?). ; possibly a tracking rig.

Revised again. Core launcher is just to use up the high point not enough power grid for 8 1400mm howitzers.

Ultimately I’m still a long way to achieving this type of fit anyways but, I’m trying to get information. Thanks

Could drop down to 1200mm arty’s, they have better tracking and reduced fitting requirements. Then you might be able to switch out the Reactor Control Unit for a Power Diagnostic System which gives a bonus to Shield, Shield Recharge, Cap, Cap Recharge and Powergrid.

thank you for the help.

hmm.

You have no more shield booster. Which means you will die easily.
The maelstrom has a bonus to shield boosting. Use it for this. forego passive/buffer shield modules. So remove that

Heavy Capacitor Booster II

and use a (large ? x-large ?) shield booster.

What you want is, at least 300 ehp/s in order to tank the incoming DPS. Most of the damage is done in explosive type, then thermal, I think I use a 20/30/10/40 damage profile ; therefore going em and extender is a waste of time. go one invul, one explosive hardener, one thermal rig, and cap rig. Check the values by installing pyfa and testing what is the best.

Weapon selection : artilleries shoot further than AC ; but they have much worse rof, worse tracking, worse DPS. Which means against small orbiting targets they are the worse choice. Also they use more pwr. so go with 800mm AC instead.
