State of Ganking

Lol…I love how everyone is an expert on what ‘most players’ want, which always just happens to coincide with their own personal biases.

Litmus test it.

Let’s imagine an EVE that’s exactly the same as EVE today, but with an additional area of space in which it’s impossible to attack someone in any manner without their consent.

Where would most players play?

Is there a difference ? Even to a noob, it would be pretty obvious that the thing to do is switch gates after Concord show up at one. Whether one case is pulling Concord and another isn’t is largely semantics. The effect is identical.

No difference but I was at one gate with concord when they started to disappear, just as the gankers hit the other gate , it’s not a complaint or anything, just an observation. They changed what they normally do when I was there at that moment.

I would suggest hunting AG as a 3rd option, but that would seem even easier than ganking?

You know she isn’t gonna answer in good faith. Cause we all know the answer LOL.

It is because you are so scary

You can’t even spell.

+100 This is so true. Yet, so sad.

Glad to see someone is out there doing the good work. I’ve never been a suicide ganker, but have nothing but respect for the work they do.

Well done. *tips cap

This is the super-delusional mentality of the carebear though. This is why game companies can never consent to their tears. The tears never stop.

Eve is an open world PvP game. As you said, when you undock, you LITERALLY consent to PvP.

Still, people not only don’t understand this despite how blatantly obvious it is. But, they whine and cry and ■■■■■ until the core philosophy of the game changes to suit them. Then, at that point, they smell weakness and refuse to stop until the game is completely destroyed and turned into LITERALLY every other game on the market.

Huh. I would think a grammar wiz such as yourself would know what shorthand is

Tis true. I was playing New World last night and a dude was crying in global about getting ganked while picking flowers.

Flagging for PvP increases luck and gathering amount. He literally consented to PvP, then cried about getting killed.

I would argue rolling back the war dec changes would change things almost overnight.

I couldnt agree more. Just roll those back and you have a game again.

I tried it out a few years ago. I had a friend build a stupid War HQ. War Decd a bunch of corps. Watched them all drop corp and wait out their one week timer.

My war HQ was destroyed while offline. Had no desire to rebuild.

Who thought this was a good idea?

About 90% of the game’s population that wants to do nothing but farm high-sec PvE in peace?

Don’t confuse the loudest people with the most abundant. I don’t think its an exaggeration to say half of the player base left this game after the safe-space changes were enforced. There still seems to be a strong number of purists around.

The carebears are loud. Very loud.

I can relate to your optimism, but outside of the 2-3 years during which I had to take a break due to RL stuff, I’ve been actively engaging in high-sec PvP since the time that the Privateers were around, and I’ve got to tell you that today the loudest people are also the most abundant.

If you want evidence, all you have to do is sit in the ganking channel, and also pay attention to all of the 5,000-member war-immune high-sec alliances whose first line in their corporate ad reads something like:

Griefing Wardec Immune - ALL members are safe!!

oH I believe you’re correct on the current group of players. Out of the 10k remaining main accounts, probably 7k of them are carebears. Thats what happens when you lose half your player base. I doubt many carebears left back then.

I hope CCP enjoy watching their numbers dwindle and putting their focus into marketing gimmicks with boosters and paywalls instead of actual subs.

I guess CCP doesn’t miss all the amazing player-driven history this game was famous for either.

Man. They used to be a really great company.

Exactly what I do when a gank fails, my ship obviously defective.

Guiding Hand Social Club and… what else?

More players are leaving the game due to the skill/isk/knowledge gap. Not everyone wants to be elitist and minmax. Then having to lose everything over and over to gankers in high sec. A few hundred or thousand of you people that just gank to spite new players are casual players you think you are superior too. What of the tens of thousands who leave the game over toxic people that cant contend with. The community is leading to this games demise and the fact the devs keep trying to put a band-aid on the issue hasnt improved anything. Being able to gank in high sec you are going out of you ways to ruin other peoples fun in the game and if this is all you find fun in this game then that is really sad.
