Stop Low Sec bullying

I don’t know about you, but I’ve had it with the relentless bullying in low-sec space. I’m out there, minding my own business, scanning anomalies, and then some jerk swoops in with a warp nullifier and blows me up. For what? I wasn’t bothering anyone! I wasn’t looking for a fight! I just wanted to play the game without being harassed every time I undock.

This nonsense has gone on long enough, and EVE Online needs to do something about it! There should be an option to opt out of PvP entirely. A simple toggle that, when enabled, makes it impossible for other players to target your ship. Let people who want to fight each other do so, and leave the rest of us alone. Sure, it could come with trade-offs like reducing or removing the bounty risk modifier—fine, whatever it takes to shut down the endless griefing.

To prevent someone A-hole from abusing it, turning the PvP opt-out on should work immediately to stop the harassment. But turning it off, opting back into PvP, should take 12 hours to prevent people from gaming the system. That’s more than enough to keep it fair while protecting those of us who just want to play without constant attacks.

This game is supposed to be fun, not an endless exercise in dealing with bullies. It’s time for a change.

Ok so how are you going to buy a ship and mods?

Umm, how about: NO?
There is no safe space in EVE Online except docked in an NPC station. It has always been this way and should always remain this way. It’s a core game design principle that’s been in effect since early development.
You can, and probably will, be shot at in any area of space.
You were in LowSec. You received a warning about the lack of CONCORD* when you first jumped a gate into LowSec from HiSec.
You accepted the risk and now you’re complaining about it?
You explicitly consent to PvP in all areas of space when you click the Undock button.
Get used to it or find another game.

(*Note: CONCORD is a retribution mechanic, not a preventative one.)

Last night I went around the low sec looking for a fight.
I’m weak enough to know that I would easily be popped, but no one wanted to fight with me.
A couple of people even rejected my duel invitations.

In EVE I think it all depends on where, how, who, when, why.
obviously? … maybe not

Bullying? Report it!

You got blown up? In Lowsec? Report it!

Griefing? Zounds! Report it!

You can see where I’m going with this, I’m sure, but I’ll spell it out for you. Posting here will gain you nothing but negative feedback. That’s not because respondents are nasty but because you have failed properly to think through the likely consequences of your proposal. Helpfully, @Geo_Eclipse_Oksaras was able to get you up to speed on it.

Listen, Orion; if you give carebears the sort of toggle you envision, they will never, never ever use any other setting but ‘no PvP’. You are asking for the elimination of non-consensual PvP, and with it the death of EVE: Online.

Do go away and have another look at the squiggles you made on the back of that envelope.

That made me laugh.

Nice trolling.

Can I have your stuff?

Maybe you missed it in the tutorial, But that Aura does explain that you are only relatively safe in Highsec. Anyone that has been playing this game for 5 minutes. Knows that there are no places that is safe in New Eden. Except docked up in a NPC Station.

Actually no, not even that is safe.

Somebody had a pimped out Navy Raven worth £2000 ganked. He said he was a real life criminal lawyer and would hunt down all the gankers in real life and have them thrown in prison.

Well, he got another one and pimped that out to £2000 aswell. The goons offered to fly it out of the system for him as told him people are waiting to gank him when he comes out.
So he gave them the Navy Raven much to the amusement of the evil goons.

After losing £4000 worth of Navy Raven, he quit EVE and went back to WoW where he struts around in his expensive armor without any danger of getting ganked.

Surely you’re trolling. This is exactly what CCP designed the game for.

Indeed he is, but sucks. For a modest fee, could give him some lessons. Part of his training will include miner bumping, gankling and slapping you with a wet wish.

If i read how bad of an experience lowsec is for you, what is your stance on the things happening Uedama?

And how can anyone warp in and catch you? Are you not cloaked? Don’t you have an eye on local? Don’t you have a second account one or two jumps out watching local? Don’t you have any countermeasures besides venting frustration in the forums?

Play Elite Dangerous. I am not being sarcastic.

Have you any idea how boring that game is?

Everyone playing in solo player mode, nobody to gank.

EVE=Everyone Vs Everyone
It’s a no rules pvp game , always been this way.

bumped to Player Features & Ideas - EVE Online Forums as this has nothing to do with the Photon UI

Black Desert is also open world PvP but they keep you in PvE until you reach level 50. I know that sounds like a high level but it takes only a few days to get there. Even less, if you speed run the Mountain of Eternal Winter. Once you do reach level 50, the gloves are off, or you can leave your character at 49 because it is a manual upgrade.

Here you are a target on day one and nowhere is safe. They have a “story” about a girl who explored all the planets in the game over a 10 year period without losing a single ship. Yes, the story smells pretty fishy to me too.

Take my best advice…

Have fun!
