Styxx for CSM 19

My short story, is that I’ve played Eve actively, with no breaks in time played, since June 2003. That is 21 years of continuous Eve experience which no any other candidate can match. Sure you can say that isn’t enough reason to vote for me and I get that but maybe like real life experience should count as something and I also have plenty of experience running for CSM each year. I’ve done or am currently doing: the wormhole life thing, High, Low, and Null sec space life with missions and null sec pvp and I have not limited myself to just a couple forms of Eve life as other candidates have. I have always had at least one active character in each of the three security spaces throughout the years and play each almost every day.

My knowledge base is pretty much the entire Eve game and not limited to just one or two areas. Even after 21 years in Eve I still mine, build ships and modules, do incursions, mission, pvp, do exploration, and pve in all areas of security space all the time. I am most likely the only person running for CSM that can say that they have done almost everything there is to do in eve at least once and have done it not just for one day, or one month but have done it for years through all the changes put in place by CCP for each portion of the game. I think that is the sort of Eve knowledge and player you want on the CSM to get your point across and know what he is talking about from experiences in the game. As a fyi, I also have been in the longest active and running 1-man Alliances and corporations in game.

Things I would like to advance include making small fleet engagements viable and easy to have again, easier ways to find pvp engagements and being able to play for say 90 minutes and have fun actually doing something productive in game. I like to help new players in game so that they stay and play. One of the many things I do in game to facilitate this is randomly drop cans of free stuff on gates just for my own entertainment and yours because everyone wants free isk and mods and if this keeps just one new player playing for just one more day that you can shoot it is worth it. I also make a new toon every 12 months to see what it is like to be a rookie in eve space and I help people in rookie chat asking questions that are lost.

So why am I applying for the CSM again you ask. Well as we all know; most candidates feel that they can push their CSM platform agenda items forward on the table when we know CCP already has a list of agenda items in place for the future CSM term so most platform ideas candidates list may not even be touched during a CSM term. CCP is mainly looking for ways to improve the ideas they have in development process. I want to help them in that capacity as much as possible so the game idea they have doesn’t end tragically for the community. Also, at same time, I feel we together should ask to add things to their game timeline that we feel should be addressed as soon on the timeline as possible.

As from what you can expect from me is to listen to you as to what you think is and is not working in game. I’m not here just trying to help new players stay I also want to help all of us 1 to 20-year vets enjoy the game more also.
So use your “xx”'s like in my name STY"XX" on your ballot.

I always read your CSM post and love your CSM platform every year but what I love most is when you take a shot at Brisc Rubal in your CSM post which I see was omitted this year. If you post your 2024 shot about him you have my vote again as always.

@Styxx Do you support hiring (EVE Vanguard) Warclone Mercenaries as an attack/defense vector in Capsuleer conflicts? Like attacking/defending Planetary Infrastructure, Skyhooks/POCOs and Upwell Structures?

As a CSM would you try and pitch for CCP to make stack multi-split (splitting a stack of items into multiple stacks of same size in one go instead of just one split at a time) happen?

O7 Styxx,

Last year I asked eight questions and then compiled the answers into a huge mega-thread. It was massive. With the exception of MILINT_ARC_Trooper, no one had a thread bigger than mine, to be fair MILINT_ARC_Troopers’ thread was so weighty and knowledgable it teetered on the edge of collapsing into its’ own core.

That catalogue of replies is now a time-capsule and encapsulated within are the hopes and disappointments that CSM 18 candidates considered worth speaking about during the year of EVE’s 20th anniversary.

The responses gave voters en masse an opportunity to test and compare each hopeful CSM 18 candidates commitment to their claims of being community oriented, knowledgable, responsive and representative of player values. Given that the CSM does not directly control any aspect of EVE’s development and that the successful candidates are those that can identify existing and future consequences, co-operate with other CSM members, and communicate issues -from a player perspective- to CCP staff one-to-one, I’ve formulated a set of questions designed to seperate the compressed ORE from the Long-Limb Roes in this years election race.

Year-on-year the Independent Representatives, Solo players with single accounts, Worm Holers, Triangle People, Semi-nomadic Role-Playing Sandbox Explorers, and Salvagers, have been organising and gaining traction against the self-secure Null-Bloc Empire Candidates and their vast hordes of leather-skinned, evil, flying-monkeys. More-and-more players are choosing to vote in members they believe can positively impact CCP’s approach to the game regardless of their in-game affiliations.

Exposure matters, who are you, what is your clue?
As was the process last year I will post each candidates reply in a super thread, first-in first-served.

This years questions:

  1. What ONE identifiable consequence requires CCP’s attention?

  2. What PROVABLE evidence can you supply to support your belief in this situation?

  3. What practical, and balanced change can be made to support a solution if any?

  4. What support do your observations have from other CSM candidates?

  5. How will you present your findings to CCP?

If you have already identified and spoken about a problem in your CSM candidacy bio at the top of this thread feel free to copy pasta that response where applicable. I’ll copy paste directly from your response to this post. Choose your goblet…. wisely.

Let the games begin, and may the odds ever be in your favour.
