Suggestion: Remove Highsec from EVE Online

Only in parts of Empire space. CONCORD doesn’t respond in Amamake for example, but it belongs to the Minmatar. Or Ahbazon, but it belongs to the Amarr Empire.

No mechanic, but they will ban you for it.

yes, the gankers actually are doing that. none of their gankees look at it that way but yeah.

they are showing them, that you are not safe anywhere in eve…

still. why is this an reoccuring subject? eve isn’t safe, everybody tries to harm you, the game is mean, yapp yapp.
it is how it is. they should simply put it in the launcher. “people will try to kill you! it is allowed! get over it or uninstall!”

imagine this kind of thinking in counterstrike for example:

i am new, they have to give me a chance. if not, valve should ban them

You call it what you like, I will call it what I like. simple as that, we will see how the language of Eve drifts over time.

m (the hisec carebear) ((see what I did, there?))

mister bangbus is right. it does not matter how you call it actually

In case you are not aware - not mechanics, but bannable offences:

Hisec is the number one reason for hisec whine threads on the forums. Forum posters would do well to consider what the forum ecosystem would look like without hisec whine threads.

I’m all for having all of empire space be what is now low sec.

alpha players are limited to suspect and above

and i think highsec should stay

That’s why I said, “Right outside those systems.” You know… at the gate. When they step out into the main world, they find themselves in the middle of a gate camp.

I feel safe in HighSec space, I autopilot all the time with no consequence.

HighSec space is the correct term, security is not a guarantee, but the mechanisms in place to avoid misfortune. If we all think like the OP we would call a rocket transporting humans to the moon unsafe. NASA can’t guarantee they won’t die, but the amount of mechanisms in place creates a virtual safety.

Looks like you all bored and keep creating bad threads, the other dude is complaining about Wave 1/4. There are other games to play you know…

Players will still call it ‘‘high sec’’ even if CCP puts out an official statement saying it’s not ‘‘high sec’’. That’s just the way people speak. You can’t force people to not use certain words.

I CERTAINLY CAN!!!

Nooo….henceforth I will call it Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Starship And Catalyst Appreciation Gankathon Under Supreme Empress Aiko.

When I made this thread, I did so knowing that nothing would change and that the idea would not be adopted.

When I look around these forums and I read some of the gleefully angst filled threads and posts, I just can’t help but wonder. If some of these people were strongarmed into a position where they simply could not play and somehow, magically, be unaware of what this game and it’s 20+ year history really is, would they splurge impotent rage text all over the forums?

Are we, the older players actually building unrealistic expectations simply through convenient terms?

Are these players continually posting really just a handful of people using alts to regurgitate the same tired and increasingly lazy ideas?

You asked for a renaming of highsec in your first post. Now i made a suggestion that even incorporates mechanics and would do away with false understandings.

Now if you call it a lazy idea, please propose a better solution. Empire space does not cut it as explained above.

You could also call it CONCORD space or something. Someone has however to do the research what it means in terms of mechanics.

Whatever it is called. You can’t go solely by the name. You have to get yourself informed about the mechanics in order to be able to use that space type properly.

Yes sure i can. As you might have read above, currently it is best for you to do the tutorials in the starter systems until you have acquired some basic knowledge about the game.

A list was already given above - i repeat here:

Also CCP will introduce a whole area for new players called “Exordium” with the next EVE Evolved patch. You can look it up here:

39 posts for off topic and back-and-forth backtalk that did not contribute to the thread.

Thread moved to Player Features and Ideas

You can call it whatever you want. Whether it will stick with the playerbase at large is another question. ‘Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Starship and Catalyst Appreciation Gankathon’ over ‘high sec’? – Probably not.
