I spend a considerable amount of my time in game with Rookie Help open, and it continues to be an issue that some veterans are using this channel in particular to target new players who won’t know any better; for corporation recruitment or referral link spam.
How the slightly smarter ones do this is by copying a large chunk of the member list and using this directly in the To field for EVE mails. More steps are needed, but I’m keeping this part vague intentionally. The point is that this is very easy to do quickly and repeatedly, letting them send their spam to hundreds of players in no time.
I can think of no legitimate uses for the member list in this channel specifically (Rookie Help).
And so I suggest removing the member list from this channel entirely, if at all possible. Let no one see it.
This way it can’t be used for spamming purposes at all, and the game’s first impression on new players is improved at the same time.
