Test server taken away so stop playing omega

Right this is just my opinion but ccp taking away the test server around mass testing is completely disgraceful and is just a ploy to get people to either loss more ship’s in the real game or stop people practicing to make less errors.

What the test server is good far around just ccps testing?

  • Testing higher end ships to see if you want to core mite the training time to them
  • pvp testing for fits and training for newer players in more relaxed environment
  • A chill creative relaxed environment to hang in
  • New corp recruits can be taken on there to help them again with eve learning curve meaning there less likely t quite.
  • Testing for mission fits and Abyssal ect to encourage players to commit to bigger purchases on the real game.
  • Helps newer corps test and try equipment that would be needed to move in to 0.0 and get systems up and running.
  • People are more likely to buy a expensive ship if they have tried it out first i know i only brought a carrier because i tested it first or i would not have bothered.
  • It actually encourages bigger purchases on the main game so will change with not having access people will used cheaper ships.
  • Youtuber and content creators having test server for them helps them and helps the game ccp tacking this away is just hurting them selves.
  • There are also people that play eve that have difficulty’s or disability’s and having that server helps them set up and get comfortable in the environment this is huge for them.

These are just a few reasons to have a 24/7 test server for players but one main thing i would say is the amount of money to play eve on omaga on two account which most people do ccp should include this in the game as we are the payers and most people i would say 80% of people want the test server back.

I would encourage people to strike in there own way across the game shut omega down and run alpha in-between mass testing which is what im going to do.

Again this is just my opinion and there will be the do gooders who have a pop at me but they are in the minority.

All the reasons you listed is why ccp removed it. One of the first rules of Singularity was it was available first and foremost to test bugs and to give ccp feedback. Nobody was doing that. Rules were more strict on what could and couldn’t be done and too many players using SiSi to gather Intel on TQ. (Hello loot piñata structures). So now ccp is only doing mass testing and opening it up when they need it.

You pay for access to TRanqulity not Singularity

It might not have been what the server first started out being used for but it got a lot of adoption from the community that found great uses for it also helping newer player stay because it made it easier for them to try thing s out. Now that’s not a bad thing in my book. Also i have played with couple people in the past that used it to safely test and set up certain keyboard and voice commands for there difficulty/disability in a safe environment again this was not the servers purpose to begin with but i and a lot would agree this is a good add on to use for situation like this.

Oh and we pay for eve online and singularity was made available for such a length of time to the community that it had become a tool in which people use creators noobs to the game people with disability’s/difficulties testers a the list goes on. I know this because iv had an account since 2008 and i used it back then.

Yea, that kind of was not the intention of the test server.

Also if people are trying out new ships on the test server instead of the main server it means there are less people on the main server.

If you wish to do a training for your corporation, why not do it on live? You might even find other players to fight during your training for live practice!

And to push the limits of your abyssal runs you can start a tier lower on live to learn the mechanics and then try next tiers once you’re comfortable with the previous one.

The test server isn’t needed for any of the things you mentioned, it just made people risk-averse and lazy.

I recall I had a few training sessions with my alliance back when the test server was still being abused for those things. Always annoying to get attacked by those test server warriors who killed anyone they could catch while they were “testing multiboxing 16 Zirnitras” risk free. I’m glad that is gone.

lol made people risk averse and lazy quite the opposite more like well people i know that have used it over the yrs more risk takin than they were before.

So some of the highly skilled and ranked pvpers iv met over the yrs are risk-averse and lazy that just does not make sense.

Practicing on the test server with zero consequences is about the most risk-averse a player can be.

You can practice the same things on the live server.

Before ccp took it away, they stopped putting new changes on sisi so ppl couldn’t learn it before the majority

wow you did not even read what i said they are not risk-averse and they used the test server here and there over the yrs of it being available. so if they lose ship regular and kill ships and are in frequent combat how is that risk averse and they don’t practice on live server they just go out and do it. But over the yrs here and there they have tested certain things on the test server.

Anyway i have stated what i think and that’s my opinion. you don’t agree that is your opinion.

i don’t agree and never will with you and you don’t agree with me.

I would not worry too much anyway this game has not got that many more yrs left in it anyway

Oh so you have insider knowledge that eve online is actually “dying”??

If those players are not risk-averse they surely can practice on the live server then, right?

The most risk averse is testing on a singularity. That is laziness cubed and squared. This is Eve where you learn to fly better or get blown out of the sky. I can not support your position that having taken away singularity. That should be a cause for people to cancel their omega. In the light that singularity was being used not as intended. I agree with CCP in their decision to close the server.

I had a short lived corp m8 who tried to abuse sisi a long time ago. The reset wiped out all his efforts!:rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:

While I miss sisi and didn’t abuse it, I can live without it.

If players were upset about Sisi no longer being available 23/7, they would have cancelled omega over 2 years ago when that access was taken away, but here we are with more players vOv

Yeah and they do PvP wise but PvP is not what I’m on about really I’m mostly on about takin a ship that’s pricey out for a spin before buying like when you my a car most people like a test drive. but let me ask you this who has billions of isk to throw away on testing fits on abisals the higher ones.

Also you see content creator who have been on the game for yrs use for abisals

I haven’t done much abyssals, but can you not simply test a cheaper version of the fit tier(s) lower?

Anyway, pushing the limits of abyssals and occasionally losing ships while doing so has been the design of abyssals.

It’s players who abused the test server who circumvented the risk-reward model of abyssals by testing it in absolute safety - something that never should have been possible in EVE.
