The End of Highsec

Damn. I was only 2 days away from completing the Palatine Version. Was going to anchor it way out in the Highsec Boonies.

All trade in EVE is arms tradeā€¦ which, historically, is indeed one of the first things affected by conflictā€¦ generally very positively!

Just waiting for that invite and Frostpacker can supply the funds.

Alliance with us to know how to gain access.

There is always low-sec between null and high, the patch notes didnā€™t state you canā€™t anchor your XL structures there.

And the rest of structure types are unaffected so your POS scam can continue.

Letā€™s not overlook that there are a few highsec systems linking straight to Nulsec systems

We donā€™t want the whiners of high sec, they can stay in high sec.

I though you wanted them (ok, us?) to HTFU and stop whining

Market is as free as people shackle it by laws, regulations, taxes and logistical hurdles.

I donā€™t believe Iā€™ve ever told someone to HTFU. I have told people to quit whining. Iā€™m not delusional enough to think it an actually achievable goal. But a man can dream.

How one can stop whining without first HTFU? The only way I see it is to ragequit :stuck_out_tongue:

You are missing the point. I remember 2009-2011 golden age period when EVE was a vibrant, populated place and when highsec was full of individuals. These individuals were more numerous than any null blockā€¦ or ā€œnationā€, as you call it. The game was way healthier than today and was growing because of that.

Besides, how would you market Eve to the new generation of players in 2023: ā€œPay $20 a month to be an insignificant cog in a machine where your voice is drowned by hyper rich alliances of players who are playing this game for 10, 15 or even 20 years.ā€ Yeah, good luck with that.

Before you jump to any conclusions about my play style, back in that golden age I was in Morsus Mihi (THE kings of Technetium) and later Goonswarm and fought in two massive nullsec wars, but I knew then as I know now - new players are starting in highsec. Corporations are formed in highsec. Friendships are formed in highsec. New players need to get their bearings in the most complex game ever created, especially now when the game is 20 years old, before they jump in to null and have resources, skillpoints and knowledge not only to survive in null, but to have fun as well.

The best I could do if I decided to. Is just constantly reinforcing TTT as we are more than capable of doing it quickly.

The problem is the defense fleets can crash the node. I do not mind that the structures stay but at least remove the ability to have market hubs or manufacturing/reserach modules. At best, just ore or clones.

but heyā€¦

Well known truth-tellers, good people and most certainly not criminal-shielders.

Of course Ill take your word for anything.

Back in 2009 was the prime time for Tenbux and ā€œIll move your stuff for you once you pay up and joinā€

Me too. In 2009 I was the newbie in high sec during the golden age.

Thatā€™s funny! While I was gearing up to get out of high sec and building game knowledge with some buds, our mentor was an FC of Morsus Mihi.

All that to say:

Itā€™s you who is missing the point. Even during the ā€žgolden ageā€œ none of us were stupid enough to believe any single one of us as an individual would be able to compete with a corp / alliance, in nullsec, let alone others in high sec.

High sec was crowded with pirates and groups of pirates. If I didnā€™t get a jetcan flipped (because mining Ospreys and Vexors had a tiny cargo bay) it was a lucky day. It was very apparent from the get-go during the ā€žgolden ageā€œ that there was strength in being social and making friends. You just had to pick the right ones (you know exactly what I am talking about if you were in Goons in this period).

So no, not even in the ā€žgolden ageā€œ were those of us in high sec expecting for our silly little individual selves to be able to compete with large corps, nor alliances. Having high sec lay the game bare and raw helped make it easy to go live in any section of space.

The reason the game is unhealthy is CCP keeps trying to make High Sec into something else, and all itā€™s become is a shadow of what it once was because they hate piracy now.

4S Corporation was far away from that, but you wouldnā€™t know. Once you have anything constructive to contribute to the discussion, I might consider your opinion as relevant. Prejudice is not something I am willing to deal with, especially not in a game.
