The Hunt is now live!

Looks like a bug with despawning…

Don’t tell me no lies - everyone is hunting those ultra rare things down
When you get a key there are no outposts around, only bugged ones that don’t despawn.

I make more ISK mining in my Venture

Now done lots of hunt sites, but must have looked in 100 systems for a huntmaster. What am I doing wrong? Checking the map to look for quiet areas, but nothing!

Top tip. To stop the gate helping itself to all you keys, put them in a small container in your hold and and transfer them to the hold one at a time.

Have fun.

I have been doing them in a dual rep Astero no issues , found 10 pods with keys, however in Stain / Esoteria I have only found 3 hunt sites in the past 2 days, loot no good but just unlucky i suppose. So loads of pods just no sites to run for me :frowning:

I think the VIP sites only spawn in Caldari Low Sec and the Guristas home region of Venal.

This seems to be true. I can confirm that no Huntmaster’s in all Heimatar, Metropolis and Derelik, High and Low, and just entered in one Caldari low sec system and found one.

No you don’t. The capsule isn’t always in the same system as the outpost. Grab a capsule and go to the next system

Thanks. That could be very handy info!

You’re welcome, I remember seeing it posted somewhere but I can’t find it now.

Anyway, it seems that info has been verified:

I’ve seen videos of people finding them all over the place. It takes 3-4 minutes tops to scan the capsules down.

Get good

A warning for any other genuinely new pilots in here. This content is totally unsuited to new pilots. It’s been designed for people who are so many levels beyond new pilot status they simply cannot remember with any accuracy what it’s like to be new anymore.

When CCP say

This event has smaller ship classes like Frigates and Destroyers as the focus, so pilots with less experience and fewer skills trained can get involved.

They don’t mean you, they mean people who’ve been flying a good amount of time, with lots of skills / experience for small ships.

I’m pretty sure they had some idea that new players would use “teamwork” - the reason I believe this is because they said get involved.

This is clearly stated in the patch notes. However it is still quite hard to find one when you search these areas. I have found 2 so far and only run 1. It did have quite a lot of loot for a 20min site. The game reckons 300mil isk + a blueprint. The normal sites have been 10 - 40mil

For those that are having problems locating the capsules here are some tips:

  1. Create a tab (Tab) in overview that shows just irregular capsules (not capsuleer capsules). Found under Tab presets / Types / Entities sub category - just do a search in the search bar at the top right.

  2. Go into a system and scan with the Tab and set your D-scan filter to active overview settings, keep your range to 14.3 Au and angle to 360 and enable the search cone visibility.

  3. Pull up the solar system map (under the solar-system map on d-scan) and look for celestial’s out of range of your d-scan sphere if you haven’t picked on up yet.

  4. Once you pick up a Mysterious coloured capsule narrow down the range by reducing the range on your d-scan. If you have the system map you should see which celestial the capsule is at by a means of reducing the Au (when it stops showing on the scanner it means you’ve reduced too much)

  5. Warp to the planet ( planet will be central and allow you to rotate once you’re there) in the cluster where you picked up the capsule. Now reduce your range to the lowest you can while still having the capsule on d-scan, ideally < 1AU, this will eliminate the celestial’s that are further away.

  6. Set your scanning angle to 180* and slowly rotate your view camera (left click + hold in space and drag left or right) until the capsule disappears from your d-scan. This should give you an accurate idea as to where the capsule is and you should be able to warp to that location and kill the capsule.

  7. Take the Key and start warping from system to system looking for a Guristas site.

  8. If you warp to a Guristas Hideout and find that there is loot there and no npc’s the chances are that someone is either doing the second stage or did not have a key. Also there are some people that will wait for you to loot the cans and warp to the second part where they will kill you as you will have a suspect timer.

  9. Rinse and repeat as your heart desires.

Dear CCP,

congratulations to this event! I really enjoy this event a lot. It is indeed tough to run these sites solo with my Wolf (so far I have run only these sites in wormholes) but I welcome the challenge.

By the way, so far I had no problems to find the sites, maybe I was just lucky, but it seems like 1/3 wormhole systems have the Hunt sites.

Best regards,
Meditril

I’m just pointing out, new pilots are trying to do basic stuff like remember to recall their pets (drones) before leaving instance (warping) because pets have to be manually stored inside your character before travel and they cost money to replace and there is often no way back to instances (warp points)… Or at least always remember to use the manual bookmark system because the game doesn’t have any auto bookmark or track locations well.

New pilots are fleeting up to break the 100Dps tank on Dagan. This content is profoundly not for us, anyone who thinks it is, doesn’t remember well what being new in Eve is like, and maybe never experienced being new but surrounded by vets

The press release is deceptive - pilots with less experience and fewer skills should avoid all this basically.
