Everyone has access to Skill Injectors and ability to purchase both Plex and Skill point packs.
There is a picture at the top of this thread with that fleet and I have seen it many times. But do you know that this fleet is run by a ganker player?
I agree with you here.
So buff the Exhumers and Barges and do nothing to the Orca. Or nerf ganking where it is harder for them to live in high sec as a criminal i.e. canât dock, or other mechanics.
Do you have ideas how it could be solved?
âI would likeâ I donâ think think that is the same as âI willâ or âIt willâ or anything concrete. If it is a unique role, maybe it is better than what it is today. But all topics to come I guess, none of us have a glass ball I suppose.
Maybe just getting it to the last sentence makes it clearer:
Carriers fighters only need to return to reload bombs, missiles, typically their alpha strike if you will. They can stay out there and fight normally all day long.
Cheers,
Well we are at July, over half way through the year. Maybe it is in the next quadrant. I guess speculating the change is half the fun.
Mining Exhumers, Barges and Frigates are in a good spot. Each of them has a role and none of them invalidate other ships.
The Orca is more survivable, has more tank and more yield than some Barges. There should not be ships in EVE that âdo it allâ. Therefore the Orca is the outlier that needs to be addressed.
How about something like this;
Large ships when close to a Asteroid or Block of Ice could possibly radiate kinetic energy from all those smaller particles that are around the belts impacting into the hulls of all ships though the larger the hull the greater distance these energy waves would travel and this would attract a number of Pirate NPCâs that are alerted by this kinetic energy waves and resulting in a larger swarm arrives on the belt that would target sips based on size.
This might be fun to code in?
So I can trigger a bigger NPC fleet by warping an Orca to a belt? Would be great for ratting and great to push smaller ships from belts by warping the Orca in and out to trigger an overwhelming response.
Yes the White Diamond Pirate NPCâs.
That would suck, we are hoping whinners quit.
high level vision is fleet boosting to make 1 million isk more per 20 minutes and providing range that donât matter to gankers.
Itâll happen. The marauder nerf happened and CCP loves to lose customers due to incompetence and lax excuses. Like a preacher using âgodâ to justify all manner of degeneracy and crimes.
I have to admit I like the idea. I love that PVE could be the main threat in HIgh sec not Gankers and how I think it should be. So if you are mining in a solo Venture, little to no risk NPC comes in. In one two three Orcas with barges and Ventures, there is a chance something big comes.
I think using PVE mechanics in High sec should be pushed harder than PvP. You can still have the destruction, and give security for a mining fleet a purpose.
You are correct there shouldnât be a ship that can do it all. Letâs understand the facts here. The Orca isnât a sub-cap ship, it is a Capital Industrial ship. The survivability is on par with other like-size Capital Ships. Remember the Orca isnât a High Sec-only ship. The mining ability for the Orca is not better than a Exhumer and wouldnât be better than a barge if getting buffs from the Orca. Mining in a Orca is as much work as ratting in null. Unless CCP wants to completely change the role into something we are not thinking of at all in this thread, the Orca is right where it should be maybe too weak. And at current market value, it could use a buff to mining ability.
Every ship should have the ability to pay for itself; is the other way to look at this conversation. If it is abyssal, security missions, distribution missing, anomalies, and the list goes on. At the current pace, it would take roughly 100hrs of gameplay to mine the worth of a Orca. Is there another ship out there that would take this long to pay back itself @Gerard_Amatin ? If not then wouldnât the argument be the Orca is too weak? Does it need to be buffed to mine faster? Or maybe you buff the tank that helps the low and null sec people, and if a High Sec person has it, it keeps the 100hr payback but is almost impossible to gank, which to be honest could be a fair trade-off.
A Orca is worth over 3,300 Catalyst but can be ganked with 20-30. So 2B can be taken out with 15M. And anyone playing the game knows that is a flop-sided battle report. Meaning its risk of having to be in space 100hrs, double most other ships, puts its risk vs reward (only after 100hrs) at a higher level meaning the Orca should get buffs.
Cheers,
@Salt Foambreker that isnât whining that is an opinion. It would be similar to me saying salt farmers are toxic for the game and should all quite. Narcisssistic personally is a serious condition and I want you to know I am here for you if you need me. Reach out anytime.
Cheers,
There is a balance in there, and I get that. We only have some data, not all, which makes the forums fun for speculation. THe Marauder needed a nerf, and it is still strong. I will admit it was fun watching it on YouTube take on 10 man ganks no problem, but I know not the entent. 10 properly fitted ships to fight PVP should at least have chance, where before they didnât.
No company wants to lose Customer, but there is a need to keep a healthy game and ecosystem where everyone simply wants more and more and more. That is very hard to balance, and impossible to keep all happy.
Things that are unhealthy die
In my humble opinion, if they nerf the mining power Orca as the OP and CCP rattati hint, they go to get many unsubs, because many miners now are using Orcas. CCP wil be hurt if they do so.
Myself selling my only mining orca char, this, because the possible changes. My other accounts were not renewed when they expire. 7 to 1 now. And i am doing this because my account is payed for an anual subscription. If not were the case, i simple unsub when the do the nerf, i do so. (the other chars are two cyno characters who can get some love, but not useful as is)
