Points well taken. I’ve been on a war footing for several weeks. I’ve backed off a bit, maybe no one has noticed.
We have some differences which are contextual the explanations of which would merit banning by the moderators.

Also, it’s clear that “opinions” influence CCP hence why everyone in this thread pushing for a nerf. They became aware that CCP was looking into the orca and immediately jump to try and diminish it by influencing CCP with their opinions (half of them outright lies) and alts in order to create the appearance of popular support. One can only hope that one day, CCP stops looking at all forums about their product. I imagine the types that like to cry and whine would quit. Because they ain’t adapting, that’s for sure.

While it’s true there’s plenty of whiners on the forum, there’s probably more truth in the game woulda been a lot better if CCP would have actually listened to a lot of the conversation that was going on here for a long, long time.
I also wouldn’t go so far as to say we’re all pushing for a nerf.

Well thats a lie right there.
I don’t care to be precise when the people who know I’m talking about aren’t. Even if it appears like it weakens my stance, it also weakens theirs since they engage with it. If they were professional about it, they’d do like politicians do and not engage at all while espousing their positions.
So … Its bad when they do it, but not when you do it?

Problem is, when I say “everyone” everyone knows what I mean but when they lie, ignorant people (including those in CCP), are liable to believe them. That’s how these people work. They rely on the ignorance of others.
To be fair i was talking about the orcas problems before CCP said anything.

It doesn’t make sense at all to nerf / change the orca mechanics for any of the reason mentioned here and this is way:

You cannot actively mine as a “mining” ship directly, you require drone to do so. Like any other ship that can hold drones, mining drones are part of the game and any ship can use them. It is not required to use an Orca for mining with drones.

For the skills required and amount of time to acquire this ship, making it a “burst” only ship doesn’t make worth it. If I want another cargo ship you could just do more trips with other cargo ships.

Solo players enjoy the game as a solo miner and CCP need to respect that. It has been this way since the start. Why taking that away from the players. Is that really a reason for the industry changes? I don’t think so.

Not all players AFK mine. If you have put the effort to unlock the Orca for solo mining then you should be able to solo mine with your drones as any other ship in the game. It is not a battle ship.

Players supporting nerfing the Orca, they just simply don’t own one or cannot afford it and are bitter.

Drones have always been a mechanic part of the game . Mining drones don’t cause more lag in game than other drones, players use better rigs nowadays and CCP have pretty good servers for even consider that reason.
CCP, why not implementing other ships with similar or other capabilities to the mining industry instead of nerfing or changing the mechanics of the game.

Im not in favour of nerfing the Orca, as I think it needs buffs, but all your points kind of ignore why anyone mines in an Orca in the first place rather than a ship designed to direct mine; it can sit there AFK for longer that any other ship that can use drones to mine with while doing something.
In short: if you solo mine for the purpose of making a big collection of ore and you arent afk, the Orca is a very poor choice.

Isn’t really a point. The issue isn’t that the Orca can use mining drones, it’s that the way it uses them makes it more commonly used than actual mining barges.
And yet people used Orcas before they got a mining boost. Let alone their other buffs.
I beg of you, anyone, why are there so many people so utterly oblivious to the fact that orcas werw used on grid before the buff?
Are they being dishonest? or just that bleeding ignorant?
Solo mining was also possible before the Orca buff. The rettie/mack was pretty much designed for it since 2012. Demonstrating, again, that there is a problem when a specialised solo ship is out preformed by support ship.
A yield nerf wouldn’t change that. You’d still be able to ‘solo mine with your drones as any other ship in the game’.

I don’t think anyone has an issue with the server load when it comes to orcas.
You have been added to the list of “Problem Deniers”, no further discussion is nessessary and since you deny the problem no input on fixes is needed as well.
The orca very much is used as a solo miner in highsec…a lot. Regardless of yield, lack of drone boost, and price…miners choose it for it’s difficulty to gank without a larger team and AFKishness. Many things ccp may not have intended have been done by players, eh?

It takes me approximately 30 seconds to take a 2 billion ISK Orca with 400k EHP out of commission with a single Machariel…
