The Return to WIS?

Why else would they bother with:

I also wondered this, though I figured it was something the code always could do, but maybe needed 64bit client to provide?

Probably not tbh. Pass.

Something something character creator could be used by Pearl Abyss in another game …

gotta make that dolly look amazing so people buy clothing for it, that nobody will ever see them wear.

I look forward to how those new shaders will perform on my eventual shiny new plate mail for capsuleers! :joy:

Have you seen their other games?

PA is miles ahead of CCP characters with their hot bodies, beautiful models, outstanding animations, and dynamic bouncing boobies. Definitely not that.

Probably no. Just imagine the shitstorm from the Spreadsheet Guard if CCP ever announces another attempt at WIS. The howling will be heard from low orbit.

Some people still care how their avatar look in chat. Shadow is not only a black circle at feet of your character but also how lights look on your face.

So many time passed and people still cry about Sims in Space…
Even if they consider writing them from scratch, they not gonna do it before dx12 since this current main goal for devs.

From an avid forum warrior perspective, it would be a thing of beauty. It’s been a while since we had a legit forum meltdown here.

Perhaps…but would ccp care about that? It would be a calculated move on their part. The playerbase has changed significantly since the summer of rage time.

Does anybody really see PAccp passing over a potentially highly lucrative revenue source because of complaints?

This is because they plan to display massive character holograms outside of structures and thus they need those ego dolls to be up to be rendered through the space engine instead of WiS code.

The return to WIS?

When Captains Quarters was implemented, idle characters would swing their arms, scratch their chin, look around, look up, down and over their shoulder. Those actions were also present during Character Creation and also in the character’s full body portrait view in-game.

After the removal of Captains Quarters, I noticed some of those ‘idle’ movements were also removed, specifically ‘scratching the chin’ and ‘looking over the shoulder’.

Maybe CCP re-added those ‘idle’ movements and are advertising them as new.

That’s probably the answer. Building an inflated narrative around fixing something they broke is certainly not new behavior from CCP.

Probably is new to the current developers

I think the changes were made just for the character in the character sheet, which is just your head. On the 64-bit client, however, I noticed CPU stuttering after the patch whenever I open my character sheet.

Anyway I think that’s all there is to it. Captain’s quarters is buried at the bottom of an ocean probably.

if you read the rest of the post, it was answered.

Sooo, I was correct when I said:

@DeMichael_Crimson

it is new … its 64 bits and its a new system in the background … of corse it was in game and it was gone for a time … now its back … so yes its not new … we had it befor …

looks like its old and new …

and WiS was useless … if you could walk arround in the station ok but in only 1 room? sounds not funny to me … if you could decorate the room or something like that … maybe but not really

JuuR

The actual animation in these scenes is new, but we were shooting for the look and feel of what we had before.

I’d very much welcome a worthwhile WiS as an extra to what we already have.
