The way we talk on the forums.. Needs fixing

Yeah, I agree about the Agency, nuff said about that.

Reduction of skills definitely provides easy accessibility. Most everything else is basically reduction of complexity.

  • I am goon scum alt
  • I am accused of being goon scum alt
  • I really am goon scum, alt is not required
  • I don’t know anything anyway, just here to troll OP

Saving a custom formation didn’t exist until they made probe formations in the first place.
Come back when you actually know what you are talking about.

@Naari_Naarian you aren’t here to discuss how to fix the way we talk on the forums, you’re here to demonise anybody that disagrees with your opinion as “goon scum” who know nothing; under the guise of a discussion.

All while painting yourself as an all knowing saviour of the game.

There’s a word for acting in this manner, several in fact; many of them are to be found in the 5th edition of the DSM.

Oh, and here’s an appropriate kitten intermission for all of the “goon scum” that dare to disagree with your opinions.

If I remember correctly, in the beginning of the “new” probing system that came with apocrypha, you had to place all the probes manually. It was actually quite the chore to scan something.

After a while they made it that you can just press one button and they have the most optimal position that can even be scaled easily. That was an enormous simplification, I completely agree.

The intention of tiericide was actually to make more modules useful. When EVE was designed they followed the then very established pattern in MMOs of power creep. Where you have a progression of ships and modules that get better with tiers. That never really worked, bevcause you basically had “outleveled” most modules within a week and they where mostly useless junk.

The same was for ships, there where not clear roles and use cases for the t1 ships. Now they have all their uses and in my opinion that increased the choices we have and in with that also complexity.

Just my opinion.

Yeah that system turned me off to scanning forever. I don’t even like it now, and its 400% Easier.

And man that was deep in the brain vault too.

TIL, we are all Goon Scum.

Proof, or shut up. Thx.

So I made a mistake including probe changes, still doesn’t negate the fact that CCP has been consistently removing complexity from the game.

There you go again, dismissing a dissenting opinion as goon propaganda, and attempting to demonise the poster as goon scum.

Meanwhile, outside of the contents of your little echo chamber, people are allowed to have an opinion that differs from yours.

People are allowed to have an opinion in common with others that differ from your own, without sharing opinions on other subjects, or it all being a huge conspiracy theory organised by goons just to mess with you.

We’re not that petty nor are you worth the effort of doing so, I doubt that goons are particularly bothered about you either; bar the entertainment value you provide.

On that note…

I am Mittens, carry on.

Do you not find it hypocritical that you say the way people talk on the forums needs to change, then proceed to spew vitriol all over the place?

Define not a goon.

Apparently anybody who questions your “professional” status or opinion, is a goon or a goon pet.

Apparently anybody that places the burden of proof on you when you state your opinion as fact and they disagree, is a goon or a goon pet.

Apparently anybody that holds an opinion that is shared by others, that happens to disagree with yours, is a goon or a goon pet.

Regardless of whether they’re a goon or not.

You still going to run for csm even though you are a rival game developer and cannot actually get a csm seat?

To my knowledge, not once have you responded to a request for some kind of evidence that backs up your suggested changes to Eve without dismissing it as propaganda; regardless of who has asked.

The moment somebody does so you take it as an attack and respond aggressively, this is not how you have a discussion or a debate; nor is it how civil discourse works.

Without substance your opinion is worth little to anybody but you, if you wish to present your opinion as a suggestion for discussion it is common courtesy to provide some substance to back it up should others ask.

When you say “Removing hisec ganking will improve the game and newbie retention”, you absolutely must accept that not everybody is going to share that view; some will, others will not, this is how opinions work.

The latter group, those that disagree, will certainly include members of goonswarm and their alts, but it won’t be exclusively so. Those that disagree come from all parts of Eve, running the entire spectrum of play styles; this is how opinion works as a representative demographic

In every thread that I’ve seen you post in, you’ve rudely dismissed the opinion of an entire demographic as goon propaganda, because there’s goons included in the demographic.

Have you any idea how ridiculous this looks?

When you goon scum admit you came in the game to kill my corp, and put lies about me on the forums and return to civil respectable discussion.

I only learnt of your reputation after while reading one of your threads where the universal consensus of opinion was that your suggestions you were making were terrible with little consideration for the effects on the game; I agree, they were.

My opinion of you as a poster, based on your responses to the opinion of others, was rock bottom long before I read what you are accused of; every reply you have made since has driven it lower still.

return to civil respectable discussion.

I don’t think this word means what you think it means.

Civil discussion involves considering the opinion of others without dismissing it as goon propaganda.

Many of us have considered your opinion, we’ve picked holes in the basis of it, considered the effects of how it would affect the overall game etc etc. and presented our opinions in turn.

It is up to you, to provide evidence to back your opinion up when you make an initial claim that others disagree with; it’s your job to change our opinion. This is a commonly accepted practice in civilised discussion when offering your opinion in support of change.

Only when you have done that can you ask for others to back up dissenting opinions

This is how civil discussion works.

Therein lies your problem, you want us to engage in civil discourse with you, while refusing to consider the opinions of others; that’s not civil discourse, that’s an echo chamber.

You’re in the wrong place, you should start a blog and disable comments so that nobody can disagree with you.

We do not have to agree with you, players, to make development positions. It’s out job to maintain the game for the betterment of all.

Who’s we?

You’re a player, not a dev, it’s not your job to make development decisions at CCP. It’s not your job to maintain the game for the betterment of all either.

Something I’m sure many are thankful for.

you yourselves admitted being goonscum

ooo this I must see, citation needed.

I guess this makes a change from being called a CODE. sympathiser/alt, eh Jonah.

Now Naari, the tinfoil… you’re not meant to eat it. People can have opposing viewpoints to yours without being a Goon. Or even participating in pvp combat.

No. I dont want conversation with goons. You are not here to better this game, you are here to destroy it. I dont care what propaganda you peddle to try to make it seem other then that, your intentions through your actions have been made clear. Not one of you, in your entire alliance, or collection of pet alliances are to be trusted. We’ve seen your use of alt alliances to abuse csm information.

I have a fairly successful blog, actually.

If having enough knowledge and engagement with the game to realise that the code is a tiny bit of basic commonsense wrapped up in a deluge of pompous religiosity and overly flowery bad prose…

People are more likely to believe this than your claim of being a developer.
