I’d point out that whilst political type opinion is generally dis-allowed here ( which I totally agree with ), if you are going to allow a thread to move in that direction then you can’t have just one side being presented and people are naturally going to respond if it is.

This is probably the first time ever, on this and on our older, archived forums, that I am confused about the meaning of the forum rules.

If the thread had been about questionable behavior in the game (or forums) related to politics (or religion, or race, or gender, or …) the advice would likely be to “gather the evidence and file a ticket with support”, before it would spin out of control. However, the original post is about how wrong the interpretation of a particular political system is…

The last thing anyone needs in EvE (game and social media) is real world politics souring relations between players (and negatively affecting revenue for ccp).

Game forums should not discuss political topics, it’s my fault! The views of Chinese people on their own country are basically consistent with mine. Young people grow up on social media, and we have a basic understanding of foreigners’ views on China, but we disagree. Similarly, I just hope that everyone can make friends in this game, not just talk nonsense

Getting back to gaming…there was a documentary a few years back about high levels of addiction to gaming amongst Chinese children. A problem the world over…but one area where I totally agree with the strict Chinese policy of denying the kid computer access where such addiction occurs. You’d never get consensus on a rational policy in the west. Gaming should never take priority over eating, sleeping, studying, working, etc.

I’m 100% sure no one is currently dying in the holocaust. Minorities in china now….that’s a different story. Pointing the finger at terrible behavior is entirely appropriate by the way.

I can responsibly tell you that Western media reports about the oppression and killing of ethnic minorities are all fake news, and there are no restrictions on foreigners visiting these areas. They are all aimed at curbing China’s development. If you encounter Westerners returning from China and share their views on China, you will find a completely different China from what your media says!
