Time To Sort Out Ship Skins

Hoarders, traders and collectors really don’t like it if there are plans or ideas to increase availability of items. The age old miserable people doing things that only affect them.

And then they try to derail and misdirect. It’s very obvious.

The only Retribution skins not currently on the Forge market are:

Abyssal Glory - This was an arena prize skin, it’s very rare
Halcyon Dawn - comes from login rewards
Ironblood - Came from a direct-reward event (past crimson harvest I think?)
Malagrin Marshlight - Think these were NES sold around halloween but they’ll be in the twitch drops next week
Order of Tetrimon - Same as Ironblood I think?

I don’t think it is necessarily an either/or thing. I don’t have a problem with some skins being rare or people making money from them. The problem is that there’s a limited number of skins for any ship, and most of them are rare to some degree. Also, given that the ability exists to produce amazing skins like the Galnet ones ( I love that metalic pink ) a lot of the skins are just plain boring anyway by comparison.

Sure not ALL skins, some are indeed rare for a very good reason. But most are just run of the mill and made in Paint using autofill, they’re not for some super special occasion nor have any sort of lore significance.

Kind of like the OP thinking only of himself with his selfish desire to ruin the game for thousands of people who worked really hard for what they have. And even if CCP put every skin ever in the NES for 100 PLEX each he’d be whining in here that he can’t afford such a steep price.

Got it.

CCP has been down this road plenty of times since long before skins entered the game and will not change everything to keep some entitled noob happy. Because they are never happy. The demands never stop.

There must have been a competition at CCP for who could create the most boring and un-inspiring skin and fob people off as it being a ‘reward’. I have not come across a single ship on which it looks better than the standard ship skin.

They should have a button you press that gives you all the skins.

You mean you bought a skin for 25 PLEX in some event or got one for free…and ‘worked really hard’ at adding an extra 6 digits to the price ? Heck, don’t strain your fingers adding the extra zeroes.

You should refresh your memory as to what

means.

Even if you could block me, you’d still read all my posts. Though you wouldn’t be the first by a long shot, so there’s that.

Ruin the game by implementing community involvement when making skins? And a logical rotation schedule that creates a nice market (with certain items being rare/limited?)

That the hill you really want to die on?!

The hill has nothing to do with me. And it won’t stop at skins. Especially with Altara and the other terminally entitled like her. Next it will be fashion. Then special ships. T2 BPOs. And a dozen other things I can think of off the top of my head.

Like everything else people come in here and demand CCP do something about, it’s all about them. Usually with the end result that CCP loses money. What they’ll make off of releasing every skin made will pale in comparison to the amount of subs they lose from people doing the special events to get the once rare items.

As for community skins, be prepared to pay way more than you want to for that privilege considering the loss of income from the sale of skins as it is now. Then we’ll see Altara’s next rant about how he can’t afford any skins now that the only way to get one is pay the $125 to make your own.

Be careful what you ask for, people. You might just get it.

How many skins are just sitting around not for sale? Probably alot

Huh? :joy: I don’t believe that tbh.

But it’s free labor from the community?.. To Create these skins?!

Yes! I hope we get community submitted skins via a workshop style. I would love that. What valve has done has made Dota 2, Tf2, CSGO, and probably a lot more games last so much longer because the community makes the skins and the devs then sell it for money.

Stop selective quoting out of context.

You’re better than that.

This isnt the first time either. I think 2018 they said we would get skin creator

That’s just nonsense. All the noobs paying 1/40th of the price of that 2bn ISK skin will more than make up for the rare skins. And they are rare precisely because there aren’t many of them to make CCP money.

Huh ? $125 to make my ship red ? Is this some special kind of red paint made from unused Amarr gold toilet paper ? There are other MMOs where I can make anything I own red with two clicks of a mouse…at no cost whatever. I’m sure even CCP could manage that.

But I guess people who didn’t want their Model T Ford only available in black were just being ‘entitled’…huh.

Ah I lost creditability. Too frustrated to continue.

Thanks tho. Good practice here with rhetoric and debate.

How’s that working out for you?
