They have been giving omega to people? I have had a ticket in sense day one and never seen any Omega time from my issues, was paying for 6 Omegas through all this.
The issues may be back as Iāve just been dropped from alliance chat. Connectivity seems to be OK for me though (England player)

I was able to log in for 2-3 days after a 9 day inability, but now Iām not able to log in again.
I happen to be extremely knowledgeable in this field both as an IT tech and as a software dev with enterprise experience, so I am aware of the potential risks of revealing certain kinds information that could be used by those conducting DDoS. However, there are also certain kinds of information that restore confidence to the community without compromising further efforts. Both in the companies Iāve worked for, and as a customer of other companies who have been similarly affected, they have been able to provide additional information that is more detailed than what CCP provides but sufficiently vague otherwise. Nothing Iāve suggested would āsuccumbā to their demands. There is a delicate balancing point with a large degree of subjectivity here, and CCP is not wrong to err on the side of caution.
At the barest of minimums CCP should have stated in the top two posts (where people read updates, not in the middle where people donāt necessarily read along to see all of CCPās replies) that they are intentionally being vague so as to not be confused for incompetence by those who are otherwise not knowledgeable the game theory behind DDoS attacks and mitigation as you or I might be.
(This post is intended to be a counterpoint, not as a ādefense fromā or āattack onā your perspective, which is entirely valid.)

Long delays to switch systemā¦
Confirming āChat channels still have issuesā. Some show no data on initial login but eventually come around after about 60-90 seconds the ones that do seem to show severe lag.
Update: Chat keeps dropping out.
Chat disappeared, loaded itself a few times, disconnected a few times, not showing the right number of players in system. For example a few other ships on D-Scan and visible in the overview but Iām alone in local chat or showing the same players over few systems but not the correct number as well. Game is lagging a lot. Problems started like 5 minutes ago.

CCP has almost always given Omega to tickets that have taken longer than would be acceptable to address on certain matters. An Alpha friend of mine got Omega for a reimburement ticket that took about a week to address from the beginning of the DDoS. I myself have gotten a few months of Omega from tickets Iāve filed over the years. My concern is that this is not a normal situation, so I do not believe Omega should be granted to reimbursement requests during the DDoS period as it would be in any other period. A uniform remedy should apply to the entire community - otherwise some of us will get extra Omega (āspecial treatmentā) just because they filed tickets while the rest of us with equally valid (if not greater) grievance didnāt file tickets and therefore did not get extra Omega.

often, the owners of a āzombieā donāt even know their computer is being used for these purposes.
it would be these āzombiesā which would be found, not the attacker behind the attack.

this attack has a purpose, I have many ideas what that purpose may be, but no idea which is correct.

I did mean normal support ticket. They are getting extra Omega in normal support tickets during the DDoS period, which I think is unfair - that extra Omega should go to the entire community.

oh, my normal ticket was placed on Jan 28 and got no reimbursement even though it was open until yesterday.
That isnāt how service level agreements work nor does it apply to sale of goods. A service level agreement is a guarantee of uptime, for which massive resources are put into redundancy. If you want a SLA you pay top dollar so CCP can install and maintain redundant connections, VPNs, firewalls, and servers. That would cost a LOT more than twenty bucks per month per PLAYER.
When you buy a secondhand item such as a car, or a stove, or a computer, you expect that said item is fit for the purpose for which you bought it. The Law supports you on that. What you CANNOT expect is a repair warranty especially in a private sale. The Law also expects you to perform due diligence BEFORE parting with your money. Inspect that car. Inspect that computer. Get that stove certified. Because latent faults donāt just āsuddenly be thereā, they were already there to be discovered before the chassis sheared itself in half while you were burning the fast lane. Sorry, pal, you bought a car secondhand in a private sale and you accepted its condition AS SEEN.

Well my friend (who was Alpha) got Omega and you didnāt, so there is a lack of uniformity in treatment there. I know CCP gives Omega in general - I know that from personal experience getting free Omega from ticket with lengthy delays/major inconvenience. Thatās why I raise this issue.
Yeah there is a major lack of uniformity, Even through the ticket I told them I was not able to log in at all or if I did disconnected 5 mins later. That went on until this past Friday. Which from time of started having problems till I was able to log in on someone stable connection was close to 15 days. But I guess it is what it is they see I have been playing sense 2007 and oh he wonāt go anywhere, yet a Alpha newbro ooo we need to keep him lets Omega him for not being able to play his free game.
All I know is a Corp mate had a ticket to replace a ship lost during the DDoS. He received his ship back and about one or two weeks of Omega. I donāt know if it was because it took too long to process his ticket or not.

Connectivity hasnāt been too bad for me truth be told just a few days disconnects however chat has been an issue and it still persists today (11th Feb @ 19.30 EVE). Had my channels up and running then blam local wonāt update and then all channels are reporting on my corp channel with no other channel headers displayed.
This persisted for about 2-3hrs then I logged out. Upon re-logging no player channels were active had to add them manually again.
