I have not been able to stay connected or see chats in since Monday.
I was able to play other games or connect to SISI and play there with no issues.
On Friday I finally tried a VPN and can connect and almost play normal (some lag and chats busted.)
I can live without chats, however the laggy gameplay and ship loss outside my control complicates things.
I can’t even login to Eve forums to reply here without using a VPN.
Some examples why pilots are frustrated:
High sec for example: Drone commands are delayed…shoot instead of salvage a wreck and concord eats your ship
Null/ WH example: when you disconnect from game you “sit” in space instead of warping away
(One of my rorquals disconnected on tether and stayed on grid for 30 minutes.
travel example: Warp command lags before starting process
Feel free to reach out directly if more details or examples can help fix this.
apparently chat in’t restored either. I am about to try and log in, just to see if I can and log off again. my interest in this mmo has been drastically declined.
Same as most of the others on here. East Coast, connection randomly throughout the last week with no chat and random disconnects. Been unable to connect at all since Saturday afternoon. Thanks for the update!
This isn’t a glitch and has nothing to do with how old the game is. This is a DDOS. Even World of Warcraft has experienced DDOS’s which has resulted in players not being able to play.
Whoever doing this, they doing right. After you made european realm open to anyone it was only a matter of time. IMHO it’s better Tranquility rip forever than be polluted with horde of bots.
Fair enough. But understand that isn’t CCP’s fault. By giving up on the game you’re making the criminals who are responsible for this WIN. Show some support behind CCP who are doing a fantastic job.
For me and most of the people I fly with, the connection issues are down from 95% a problem to only 20% a problem. The lag in-game problems are down from 80% a problem to 40% a problem, and the chat issues?
Well, the chat issues from Thursday/Friday/Saturday where we kept getting that port 5222 pop up most of us had never seen before have cleared up. We are back to the “normal” chat operation of some of our toons seeing different people in local, different numbers of people in local, sometimes not being able to see our own alt(s) in local, etc.
If that is what is meant by “odd,” then there you go. But it’s been pretty much the norm since March 2018 when the old chat service was replaced by the AWS cloud chat service. Every time the major issues and full “no local anywhere” problems have been declared fixed, the different #s of people in local in various systems, the “local sometimes shows you people who were in a system from 4 jumps ago but not the alt in your fleet sitting on grid with you” problems… those have persisted on and off with regularity for the past 22 months now.
