Tranquility Connectivity Issues Megathread

I am still having connectivity issues as well. It’s currently Feb 4th and I tried to log in 3 accounts at one time - 2 connected and the third did not. The two that connected did not have chats available for about 5 minutes, the third account told me “Network communication between your computer and the EVE Online server has been interrupted…” Central USTZ.

Try clicking the OK button on the ‘Connection Failed’ popup, and then click on the CONNECT button in the middle at the bottom of the screen. That’s been working for some people.

Location: NW Arkansas
VPN: Not Enabled
Provider: COX

Today I logged all 4 characters in with the launch group option. 1 of the 3 did not immediately go to the character screen, but made it successfully after clicking the original client connect button.

The odd part is 2 of the 4 clients did not connect to chat, and were of the 3 that did not have any initial login issues. 1 of the 2 that did not connect to chat successfully connected when clicking the retry button that appeared soon after.

Planning to leave these characters logged in (I’ll relog the one with the broken chat) and report back later if any random discos occur!

Connecting from East Texas. Was having massive issues disconnecting and what not. Got bored and curious so I whipped out the trusty ole LTE hotspot connected to it. Since then I have also tried the hotspot from my phone and have not experienced any disconnects in two days. Also note chat comes and goes, but you can still play. Hope this might help someone.

I am located in Ontario Canada.
Internet provider is Rogers Cable
I am unable to connect to the game client. Launcher starts the game than it stuck at authentication until it times out.

Connected to the UK via VPN and the game launches with no issues, was running 3 clients without any lag. No chat though

Southeast United States.

Unable to load the game for the last 8 days.

WHEN!!!
WHEN!!!
WHEN!!!

I tried many ways to log in. I can log in unless I use vpn. I’m Eastern US too. My provider is Rogers.

How about moving back the chat servers from AWS so that they can be connected to TQ internally and are thus not affected by external connection issues?

There was never a good reason to move them out to begin with as any kind of scaling benefits of the cloud would be countered by the fact that scaling issues are on TQ itself and not the chat servers.
Get them back in so that when we actually manage to connect through the DDoS protection the game will actually work (we pay money for a working product not for fancy cloud enabled chat that barely works).

Finally, for the DDoS have you thought about having VPN entrances in several countries (something light like wireguard) that can be independently filtered for DDos as well as spread out and would provide a local entrance to the CCP network? This would effectively make the entrance into TQ distributed and thus far harder to attack with DDoS. At the same time it shouldn’t harm the latency too much as the path to TQ itself would be nearly identical as normal connections. Adding wireguard to the client (tunnel only EVE traffic obviously) should be reasonably straight forward and it can be a selectable option (some networks like to block UDP traffic so have to prepared to fall back to normal login).

I have multiple accounts and cannot stay logged in or even connect to any for a period of time…

This needs to get fixed… or refunds should be issued!!

Thanks for mitigating it, so only east coast are effected. It might be a good idea to issue a statement regarding vpn usage during this time and not hand out random bans to people just trying to play your game.

More than half our alliance can’t do anything at the moment.

It would also be a good idea to pause all sov related content. Alliances are literally being removed from their space and that won’t be reversible.

Patch day and still no fixes…
…still hanging on, but seriously, sell the company back to the makers so they can fix it!

On a lighter side of things, All of you having issues logging in and chat server issues, try port-forwarding the game, it actually helps, even though the ports are “open” forcing those ports for the game still helps.

EVE Online - PC

  • TCP: 3724,26000
  • UDP:

US west coast. Still can only connect using the method of clicking okay on the initial fail, then click connect on the bottom to log in. Chat seems to work but only seen one person use it in about 30 min of being online.

Still wont do any active flying till I know it’s safe to do so. Good thing I picked up Assassins Creed Origin’s and Odessey while they were on sale. Amazing games!

It’s not just East Coast… It’s most of America that’s also having issues.

I have to agree with the pausing of sov related content, or at least freeze the ADMs until this is fixed.

Or I have a better idea. Shut the game down, unplug it, get it up running offline, fix your ddos attacks, secure your network again, then launch the game after all is fixed…

and while your at it, add the cloaking ability to have to use fuel and have a cool down timer after a period of time usage (like an hour). It's one way that can counter campy cloakers, give the people an ability to find them and kill them. vs just allowing them to exploit the game via orbiting something cloaked.

That would make ccp a bunch of smart people if they did what you suggest, unfortunately we the players know ccp better than that. Sometimes i think they break things on purpose to spice things up.

still cant login … unplayable

I’m in Massachusetts (east coast USA) and still having bad connection and game stability problems after 8 days… Someone code-savvy really wanted to screw CCP and the game over for some reason…

just notice that this is not the first time EVE was DDOS

This is a great opportunity to let you guys know that STAR CITIZEN has gotten a little better, it is of course still unplayable but at least you will get an hour or two of patch download to kill, then you will play it for about 10 minutes till you realize that it is still garbage, at which point you will realize that since your eve online DOES NOT WORK AT ALL, then your “spaceship fix” is unavailable. Ultimately you will end up Playing Elite Dangerous until CCP issues a statement and refund for this BS
