Triglavian T3C – Revisiting an Old Idea
I’ve been thinking about this for quite a while, and I know I’m not the first one.
The idea of a Triglavian Tech III Strategic Cruiser has come up several times over the years. Rather than letting those discussions disappear into the forum archives, I thought it might be worth bringing the subject back in 2026.
I’m not here to propose exact subsystem bonuses, DPS numbers or a complete ship design. I’d rather leave that to the developers if the idea ever gets serious consideration.
What interests me is whether a proper Triglavian T3C could have a place in New Eden, both from a lore perspective and as a distinct ship within the existing Strategic Cruiser class.
Why I think it makes sense
We’ve already seen Triglavian hull technology combined with other advanced ship systems.
The Ikitursa and Zarmazd are good examples of Triglavian designs being adapted using technology associated with existing empire Tech II ships.
The Tiamat and Hydra are interesting examples too. Although developed by the Society of Conscious Thought rather than the Collective itself, they demonstrate that Triglavian hulls can accommodate covert operations and reconnaissance technology.
And then there’s the Babaroga.
For me, that’s probably the strongest precedent. We now have a Triglavian Marauder, showing that a specialized ship class doesn’t necessarily have to remain exclusive to the four empires.
So why couldn’t a Strategic Cruiser eventually receive similar treatment?
Of course, Tech III is a different challenge. Strategic Cruisers are built around modular, Sleeper-derived technology. A Triglavian version would need its own explanation for how the Collective developed or adapted such an architecture.
But considering what we know about Triglavian technology, their history of observing the Ancient Domains, and their ability to develop highly specialized ships, I don’t think the concept would feel out of place in EVE’s lore.
Quite the opposite, actually.
A Triglavian T3C should feel Triglavian
I’m not suggesting a Tengu or Legion with a disintegrator bolted onto it.
I’d love to see a genuine Triglavian interpretation of the Strategic Cruiser concept, with the modular flexibility that defines the class, but built around the Collective’s own technological identity.
Entropic Disintegrators, armor warfare, energy neutralization, drones, and potentially other Triglavian systems could provide plenty of interesting directions.
The spool-up mechanic alone already creates a different combat dynamic. A ship that needs time to build damage pressure isn’t necessarily going to excel at the same things as one designed for quick engagements.
That doesn’t mean balance would be easy, or that such a ship should outperform the existing T3Cs. It just means there’s room to explore something different.
The Ikitursa didn’t make the other HACs obsolete. It found its own place among them. I’d hope a Triglavian Strategic Cruiser could do the same.
Previous discussions
I also want to give credit to the players who brought up this idea long before this thread.
Some earlier discussions worth revisiting:
-
2019 – T3C Triglavian question in a CSM campaign: ExookiZ for CSM 14
-
2024 – Community petition mentioning a Triglavian Strategic Cruiser: Let’s sign a petition
I’m linking these to acknowledge the earlier contributors and give people some background, not because I think every suggested mechanic or subsystem from those discussions should be implemented.
So, is there still interest?
That’s really why I’m opening this thread.
I’d love to see Fenris Creations consider a proper Triglavian Tech III Strategic Cruiser at some point.
Not necessarily tomorrow, and not at the expense of balance or the existing ships. Just as a possible future addition that fits both the technology and the story of the Triglavian Collective.
I’m curious whether other players still want to see this happen, and what the developers might think of the idea.
Fly dangerous.

Just for fun, here’s a fan-made concept blueprint I’ve been working on for a possible Triglavian T3C.
It’s purely a visual interpretation of the idea, not a proposed final design or a set of subsystem specifications. I’d leave those decisions to the developers.
