Except invasion is happening in 3 systems right now… do travel to any of them and tell me again things are not happening. I did move my ass 20 jumps just to take a look.
When the prices of plex were skyrocketing, people were complaining that CCP needed to fix improper risk to reward ratios, botting, and the money supply in order to keep plex prices in check (and, of course, made other suggestions such as dumping seized plex on the market). Some even suggested that CCP wanted plex prices high in order to encourage sales (doesn’t matter who said it, so let’s not think about that too much ). So, it’s kind of funny now that CCP has started to address those issues, people are now accusing CCP of plotting to encourage more micro transactions. Doesn’t matter what CCP does, it’s all a ploy to sell more plex.
Also, the risk to reward ratio of some activities was definitely out of hand, and needed to be addressed. For example, before EC’s were nerfed, I was making 375mil / hr in HS, never lost a ship, and could do it while watching youtube. But you’re right, it’s all about the microtransactions.
Also, also, diversifying your income streams and careers means that you can more easily pivot if isk efficiency for some activities gets nerfed.
What about less plex being bought from CCP due to decreased value? Or the fact that plex prices are catering, while prices of other items are increasing - which means that plex might not be the best place to store wealth right now? Seems to me like you’re just looking at one side of the equation when forming your conclusions.
All that is happening is that Trig invasion is becoming the new Faction Warfare. Except the factions don’t exist in game yet to collect the lp needed for the new EDENCOM ships, or whatever the mechanic will be to build sell and acquire the EDENCOM ships.
I know, right. These cork suckers told us there would be new trig content, but instead of putting their lives at risk during a global pandemic in order to finish it on time, they decided to take a hit to their productivity by working from home. Come on CCP? Is this how you treat your customers? The least you could have done was to release the content in a buggy, clearly unfinished state.
No, some got buffed, some got nerfed.
Because coding and testing can only be done from their office…nobody has a computer at home powerful enough to code with, nor does anyone ever anywhere have the capability to video conference…
Hello
Patch today killed my Sound somewhat, i can hear music, aura and other beeps from the UI - But my Ships are Totaly Silent - No Missles, no Salvagers and since i restartet even no Propulsion (i can hear my own warp sounds but otherwise nope) what bothers me a bit since i often react to the pop of a warp in.
Files and chache i did check and since it just with the Patch showed up i guess it has to do with it - Otherwise my Music and Sounds seems totaly fine. Other games at least have Zero issues…
Someone a idea?
edit i just noticed i posted in the Wrong thread - Sorry, coud a mod move this?
Your post is misdirection at best and rubbish at worst.
The masses always complain.
Bots are not and never were a problem. This is an application with a database and timestamps and logs. If CCP wanted bots out, all they have to do is run reporting over their data with an eye towards consistency / timing based actions.
Your EC comment is irrelevant to the point you try to make with it. It only supports my argument. You can no longer do something that would provide you the ability to plex your account. Forcing a Subscription, Plex purchase or Quit.
Finally you have a point with “What about less plex being bought from CCP due to decreased value?” but you are heading off in the wrong direction.
Exactly, the repercussion to being money grubbing bastards finally coming to an actual conclusion:
The many many people that now wallet warrior instead of doing PVE, largely brought in by the existence of Skill Injectors, no longer play the game at all because they can no longer buy their XXX ship with the plex they buy.
No doubt that there is a curve, so CCP will see that they are getting more money as people buy more plex to get the usual stuff that they want. The problem is when Plex becomes so worthless or the player gets so fedup with the value loss, they simply stop playing.
(Funny and not sufficiently researched but Hypernet, gambling without any oversight that usually accompanies such an industry. Amazing what they get away with)
Long story short, remove asset safety from everywhere in Eve and you will find that the wars start again, the minerals can’t be stockpiled as much (because they need to build replacements of everything lost).
Stated goal: Remove excess minerals etc from the game. Reduce capital proliferation… (lol way to beat a dead horse - I digress)
Root Cause:
Asset Safety - **Wars do not reduce the capability of your enemy. **
Tranquility Trading Tower - Makes it utterly impossible to obtain the same level of resources as exiting powers.
Skill Injectors - Any toon, capable of anything at anytime - Only beneficiary = CCP
CCP Conclusion / Action: Nerf the ability for new groups to get minerals in order to become competitive with existing powers. Do nothing about any root cause.
Being attacked Sansha’s Scavenger x 2, Infester Alvi , Sansha’s Ravener,- shooting at ship and there are no sound effects dang BUGS
First, they had to get everyone set up. They had to make sure everyone got the software they needed, were able to connect to right databases, log into everything they needed to, and all that. Second, even after getting everyone set up, it’s much easier to collaborate when everyone is in the same room or building, than when everyone is working remotely.
BTW, the planning fallacy is a cognitive bias that causes people to underestimate the amount of work/time required to complete a project. It’s why project managers will just straight up add 50% more time to their time estimates when planning. Anyway, it appears that players seem to do the same thing when it comes to MMO development. Eve players apparently think MMO development is easier than it actually is, that delays and bugs are automatically indicative of incompetency, and that CCP should be given zero slack when continuing to actively develop an MMO during conditions that are unprecedented within the entire gaming industry.
No more Emerging Conduits WTHFH dammmmm
They emerged. Now it’s moving to another phase. An evolving game.

Wish they would give a heads up on the new content… oh soon they will
yup
YEs I agree to an extent. Especially about straight up adding 30-50% contingency.
But you know what we also do on large software projects? We communicate. We communicate success, We Communicate failure, We communicate ■■■■■■■ everything.
The Worst possible thing to do maybe slightly worse than missing your deadline, is to leave unrealistic expectations in the consumer/customers mind.
Oh, and we provide a walk-through or manual on how to use the damn feature.
Oh there is a manual some where’s in the trenches
Did post this in a other (mayby wrong) forum.
Two things:
-
Was in Abyssal Space and put my ‘Magpie’ Mobile Tractor Unit back in cargohold, did fly to the gate , did check if all drones was back and Magpie save in cargohold, jumped in next room … Magpie was gone !!! the drones was still in dronebay, just not in the ‘group’ they use to be in.
-
Had to buy a new Magpie, did a trip to Dodixie, but when jumping i Ourapheh system I got the message:
‘DovHammer, you are an enemy of the Amarr Empire! This is your last voyage into our territory!’
And the same message flying back, Ourapheh system are owned by ‘The InterBus’ and my standing to them are plus 6, glad I was not on autopilot.
(would like my Magpie back)
So anything to do with this patch(?)
All I will say is it took less than 24 hours for my wife’s University to have them all set up to work from home including all the databases mail and video conferencing and new remote log in, the entire school staff 24 hours.
Our 3,000 persons company, who were largely against Working from home, managed to pivot in 2 weeks. Its not perfect but development is business as usual.
Edit: The IT portion of that 3000 is under 100 (excludes software developers - obviously they don’t setup networks etc)
