Version 19.09 - General Feedback

As much PLEX as it takes to inject a second capital pilot, which doubles your CEQs.

Thank you @Zoiie,

I renamed .steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Eve Online/SharedCache and tried to start. First attempt created a new SharedCache folder, empty, then died. Second attempt, it added some folders and .tmp files, then died. Subsequent attempts died without getting any farther.

That was worth a shot. Maybe Iā€™ll try reinstalling, but my expectations are now pretty low, for the current situation and for the future of Eve on Linux.

Just doing the launcher temp cache folder should be enough.

I realised that after I did a reinstall with the launcher crashing on the launcher updater.

[Completed] Extended Downtime Notification - 26 October 2021 is closed but today we have an unexpected extended DT.

Here is some feedback on the 28 patch.

What heck is wrong you dev or ccp?! These 90% loot drops on player killing are stupid! Why have no other play styles had increased events? Just show that CCP and Devs only develop this game around player killing. There are a lot of other play styles that are being ignored by CCP and Devs. The players see that and not happy about it.

Typos.

Well, if thatā€™s all we have to worry about we good. F12 bug report?

This is the third year with increased drop rates for Crimson Harvest

The Hunt comes with implants dropping from podkills

Guardian Gala often includes increased drop rates in wormhole space.

There are other examples but that should be enough

Such a shame that CCP opted to only reuse first generation (Cold Iron, Blood Raider) and first gen empire skins (Ardishapur/Sarum) for the event points. They could have done an amazing job if they had introduced the Tetrimon skins, which according to the lore have a really cool color pattern of green-copper/orange and some black. This would have been skins that make you want to jump into the skinner box and grind through the hellish number of repetitive data sites and combat sites (that offer no variation in settings whatsoever).

But alas, we are talking about CCP.

So nothing for explores, nothing for mission runners, nothing for combat site runner, nothing for industrial players and nothing for miners.

Yes CCP does the event sights but since CCP misplaced the . and did not reimburse the ships. I donā€™t trust CCP enough to run any events.

I can not help but wonder if CCP acts this way because some the players are enablers?

The icon for Solar System Interference has now been moved to a mouse-over tooltip of the Solar System name in the location info panel.

Wasnā€™t this also a community suggested improvement that should be marked with the respective icon?

What are your smoking? Almost every other event is for PvE/non PvP play styles. A rare PvP event in a PvP game and the Krabs whine like itā€™s the end of the world. I say letā€™s have more PvP events and less PvE ones! I almost never do the PvE/mining/exploration events. Thank you CCP for throwing PvP a bone and please increase PvP in events in the future.

While they are PvE, the sites are garbage and donā€™t cater to any play style like the ganker/player killer events. When have you seen an event with a 40% increase to bounties to kill NPC or a 40% increase of loot drop for missions/Ded sites/combat sites or event a 40% increase to LP payouts? Heck there has never been an event that increase mining yield by 40% or reduced cycle time.

First off PvP is a VERY SMALL part of Eve. The moment that the players start to acknowledge it and stop say that Eve is a PvP, is the minute that the game start to be balanced and move forward. There are two PvP loot drop increasing event every year but not one event for any other play styles.

Nothing for explorers, other than several hacking site based events each year.

Nothing for the mission runners / combat site runners, other than several events per year with those exact mechanics.

Dudeā€¦ Twice a year thereā€™s a few days where the drops from player deaths are reduced less (i.e., only 10% of the mods donā€™t drop, rather than 50%) and you are here complaining about itā€¦

Why? What does this increased drop rate do to harm you?

The loot drop rates or loot tables for any hacking sites or PvE event are not increased 40% like for the ganks/player killers.

Yes it does and it hurt the game also. These increased loot drop rates reward more gankers while doing nothing for the victims. The increase in gate camps from gankers restricts movement and available actives. More risk but no increase to the reward. So only the killers get a reward for no risk.

How it hurts the game is by increasing items that are not destroyed. There by increasing supplies to market and devaluing everything everyone else does in the game. Also a lot of none aggressive players donā€™t play during these event because they are a one sided event.

No, but you do get entire weeks / fortnightā€™s of brand new sites to go run. Those sites, the loot drop rate is +100% as they did not exist prior to the event.

No ganking is not bad, consequence free ganking is bad.

I am not asking for anything to be fair, life is not fair but this is not life. As I paying customer i expect CCP to reward everyone and not just the one play style they are trying to push.

The event in the patch notes and this is the general feed back thread for the patch. So I will express my disdain for CCP favoring gankers and player killers over everyone else.

My earlier post was flagged as off-topic, and of course I do accept that it veered dangerously in that direction.

I shall try not to become so obsessed with the minutiae of peopleā€™s arguments in support of their sincerely held opinions.

I am, of course, thrilled with the new content which is the subject of this thread!
