Version 19.11 - General Feedback

how do you spider crab with -100% impedence bonus? whil not having significant outgoing increasements or selfrep bonis like triage or bastionmodules…

And now you start doing the right math, with Waste Probability Calculation attached to the Numbers you just tried to simplify to match your View,
Hint i do not fly a Roqual and this ■■■■■■■■ is just even more ■■■■■■■■.
Half calculated Equations and Sensless changes for changes Sake.
Thats what this is.
Even with 100% More Ore everywhere it does mean that you sit there almost double the time or you go for yield and waste more than half of it.

“What makes you think it’s not?”, Queried the analyst.

Now Ive had a play with setups for different mining ships this update is another step backwards.

The Hulk & Mack have insufficient power grid for some fit variations.

The Skiff can be fitted in various ways and doesn’t loose too much tank but is so slow in movement or aligning its painful. Its also lost drone capacity.

Now comes the worst part : This is a reduction in mining full stop, time is money in the real world, efficiency is king.

Every cycle with 5 drones mining a large rock (augmented) 2 or 3 of them loose all to waste each cycle. This also happens with strip miners (type A) 1 or 2 of them per cycle looses all to waste.

Why do most of the mining / exploration frigates have no drone bay and only 2 turrets with 3 top slots?

Sacrifice the Scanner for speed(It may not be as useful as it use to be anyway with the new field regeneration lifecycle). This 75k ehp / 434 isk skiff can bounce around a field quite effectively and be quickly (financially) replaced when necessary.

Note: Still a work/fit in progress

Residue does not reduce your yield at all.

It reduces how much is left in the rock.

You always get your full yield.

Since rocks just doubled in size, unless you have 100% residue, you’re ahead on where you were last week.

And every mining ship just got huge yield buffs.

This is a fundamental misunderstanding of how the mechanic works, and hopefully I can clarify it a bit for you.

Residue Y is produced at a probability rate dictated by the tool being used, anywhere from 20-64% of the time for most tools currently applicable, where Residue Y is equal to Amount Mined X.

In this way, you are NOT losing cycles of ore mined. You are creating a chance to burn further material out of the rock, equal to the amount you retrieved to your mining hold.

I’d argue that there’s quite a bit of flexibility to be had now. This current hulk fitting as a prime example. Completely infeasible before patch, now quite readily atainable, no implants requirred. Similar fitting applicable to the Mackinaw

It appears that with this patch, CCP has lifted the blanket BAN of all in IN GAME GAMBLEING!! as you appear to be able to gamble again in the Eve-Radio channel. will this also mean the Return of the BIG lottery?? if this is actually the case of this being repealed from the EULA can someone please post it in the next set of patch notes. if this is false then someone needs to poke into the game public channels during the week ends.

can you ask someone at CCP about Operation Permafrost and the Frostline Omnivore Module that was given out then? I have been researching this module and what it was intended for. I have talked to players who had these modules since their inception. Who used them in the event at maximum numbers allowed. Triple Omnivores on Endurances and Quads for Prospect. [Prospect doesn’t get much benefit out of it] The Endurance which comes from Frostline Laboratories though does Ice Harvest Bonus. Can someone do a background check on this module and ask if it was pre-balanced out.

And if they have the information on how this module has performed over the three years? From my experience it was pre-balanced to allow non-modulated modules to have some speed and cycle benefits.
Some people think it was supposed to be allowed for all modules. I see it as being pre-balanced for specific means. It wasn’t broken. I even checked to see the modules interactions. [What I am not sure about is if it was pre-coded to benefit only expedition frigates, it seemed to have an interaction bonus with Expedition Frigates.] Can you ask someone on this?

And then get back to us on it? Because the module wasn’t broken and was working as intended and didn’t need a patch. And this module was an Event Module with a proven track record from 2018.

Total Ice Mining Boost was 24% on Endurance [which stacks with its hull and ice harvesting skills] on a Prospect its 32% [but Prospect has no hull benefits and only ice harvesting skills]

Now if you really did some digging. The Frostline Omnivore Module will show another Frostline Omnivore interacting with it. So if you have two Frostline Omnivores. [if you info a frostline omnivore module it will show the other frostline omnivore interacting with it] So if you have three frostline omnivores and you info a frostline omnivore it will show TWO Frostline Omnivore applications. Same thing happens with most other modules. The bonus was not double stacking. It stayed stable at 24% bonus+ Ice Harvesting Skill + Hull Bonus. Even if you tested it with a Quad Fitted Prospect the same thing would happen…but the Frostline Omnivore module will show Triple module interaction. But it will have less bonuses and effects.

I have Abyssal Modules that will stack up in the same matter because the info card is trying to show which items are combining together to get a stat. Especially if the modules are unique and different from each other. And how they interact with each other.

Which probably shows there is a coding error in how the system adds or attempts to add or show which modules are affecting the bonuses of a ship.

And so the overall is reduced.

Nope. On a cycle at the end of a rock it can happen you get nothing.

There are far more accountants in the world than players in EVE. :stuck_out_tongue:

This is correct, but also quite far from the claim that was attempting to be corrected. That being that three out of five cycles would be lost entirely to wastage(instead of it being additional burn off), when that is not the functional system at play.

Overall, net resource extraction rates are up, and even with waste at its highest potentiality for practical mining(t2 B type crystals), yield per man hour, is up sharply, and effective yield for time in field, assuming 64% residue burn, is still up 36%.

Now if you assume t2 type A, yield per man hour is still up markedly, but not as sharply as B type, with a residue chance of 34%…

This alongside the effective general resource increase, means that overall yields are up across the board by a not insignificant margin

WTF? When did CCP update the FPS Monitor utility? Doesn’t look bad. AT least the graph doesn’t interfere with the fps counter anymore as badly as it did in the past.

REDNES

Can we get the Survey Scanners updated, I have 53km range and scanner is good for 47km ???

Dear developers!
As I see you increased the cargo volume of Hulks to 11.500 m3. But I can’t finish a 2nd round of strip miners, because cargo become full and one strip miner automatically stop working. Should it be possible to change something that a Hulk with available max. efficiency should be able to start a 3rd round with both strip miner? As before.

While it’s not a really big problem due to pretty short skill time for T2 Gas Harvesting Modules, the numbers for the T1 Gas Harvesters are kinda off:

Here is what it would look like if the activation time would be reduced to 120 seconds:

This would bring Barges with T1 Modules in line and higher than a Venture taking 3 days to skill into. In Null this would mean T1 Modules would trigger Gas clouds Explosions more often, but from my testing it’s not really a big problem to tank the cloud damage in a barge. I’ve added the numbers to my previous spreadsheet, here is the link again: GasMiningSingularity - Google Sheets

If we had a yield calculation like for other Mining modules I wouldn’t need to make these spreadsheets and graphs, just saying.

@CCP_Paragon can some please look at the high sec asteroid daily respawn formula and see if waste is being counted in it? I only ask because the high sec belts are laughable small already.

Sure, like every other ship in the game…chooses need to be mad. That they can be tanked sufficient to hold up to all the standard rats up to 3 battleships even in deep null, and align reasonably fast enough to avoid both capital rats and off grid offensive players while yielding more tremendously improves them compared to where they were a couple weeks ago.

Ok, I have been playing with the barge fits all weekend. The barges are garbage!

  1. The high sec belts are too large. None of the barges have enough power grid or CPU to fit a micro warp drive in size 10. An after burn only gets you to 300 m/s that is nothing since the belts are so large now.

  2. The barges don’t have enough mid slots to shield tank. If you use the lows to hull tank, you don’t have any place for mining upgrades.

  3. The ehp increase is nothing compared to what barges lost.

Solutions

  1. Give all the barges 4 mid slots and only two low slots.
  2. Reduce the size of high sec asteroid belts or increase power grid or cpu to fit a micro warp drive.
  3. Make up your mind if ALL ORE ships are shield or hull tanks and then give the ships the slots to reflect that.

I am very disappointed in CCP and all the devs. I will never believe another word or post from CCP. I will wait to see patch notes that go live and make sure they are not bugged. CCP has really been screwing miners/indy players over hard for 2-3 years now. I am tired of EVE and CCP because of how they treat miners/indy players. I am guessing our money is not good enough for CCP any more.
