Version 21.04 - General Feedback

This explains the constant “Lost Connection to channel” I often get. AWS may be the 800 pound gorilla of the industry, but in my opinion their service is trash.

I join the chorus: graphics are worse (soft and flicker in stations). I gave it a few days, but no, I turned AA off completely (that’s not good either, but better than that new mess anyway).

It doesn’t really upset me, I just enjoy pointing out the hypocrisy of the 2 year 360 they did on their own stance. HTTP is also pretty much universally used and is a tried and tested standard around the world. It’s use also didn’t nearly break the game for me for almost a year, the jabber change did.

I wonder what this is about…

Love hate can be seen as a positive for New Eden.

Check under “New Items” on here. Likely an undesired side effect of the anniversary event stuff being added.

along similar lines as above…

Haven’t played for a good while and returned recently. Holy hell, it’s certainly different.

Not at all impressed with game stability, for the money being charged I was expecting a bulletproof client experience, instead this thing runs like a high school kid’s Unity project.

I’m sitting here waiting for 30 seconds for in-game windows to open or scenes to load, when my ship moves through space it rubberbands, I’m wondering why on Earth I’m paying someone money for this.

Was genuinely contemplating just refunding the $100 or so I spent in the last two days on this unstable mess.

Yup. That’s the cause!

General accessible events:

  • Drag Racing:

this pits players vs players in a race across space system at sub-warp speed. Spectators are allowed to risk ISK on the outcome and may participate in tournaments.

  • One Click PVP:

2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 2v2v2, etc etc, Frigates/Cruisers/BC, etc. Players need only bring themselves, no purchasing of modules or ships required. Each capusleer has a ranking that goes up or down based on wins/losses for each class of ship category. Players are sorted into leagues. Each individual capsuleer may offer any amount of ISK into a pot that is distributed to betting participants only, or simply play for free and earn small rewards. Opposing team player names are Anonymized to reduce collusion and griefing. Players may enter with any other persons, or at random, and are not prohibited from fighting with or against other corp members. Entrants may be charged ISK.

Skill points are all temporarily equalized between between both teams so that neither team has an advantage, leaving only enough skills necessary to operate the ships and modules themselves. Some class ships may be randomized/selected to offer strategic depth of play, at the teams choosing. This could include weapon type. Ship weapon and ship class match preferences can be changed at any time but not guaranteed.

Capsuleers are allowed to multi-que, with the most complex team matches giving the biggest rewards. This means a player can que for both 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4v4, etc simultaneously. Alpha accounts would be prevented in joining the more complex matchups, or from placing bids on the outcome of their team. A score screen would appear after every match, allowing both teams to upvote the player they think performed the best, with an automatic or manual rematch option, or the option to move onto the next team.

This reminds me of the Frank Zappa line:
“A week went by and now it’s July”
Well it’s almost a week…and no reply…

And a couple more months it’ll be July…

And maybe, just maybe, by that time, one could expect a response - but i’m not holding my breath, that alone would be absurd !!!

you mean EXACTLY the way jabber is a tried and tested standard. There is no more reliable instant message standard available. No IM protocol is totally reliable, especially going through ddos and IPS appliances. Not even companies whose business center around instance messaging like microsoft (with teams), zoom or slack are totally reliable and regularly experience minor problems, occasionally large ones. It would be far worse if eve used sip.

I would actually pay extra for a gate key that allows access to such queue for pvp in New Eden.

Ofcourse this would be totally out of character (Pilot)
Though it would then fall into E-Sport streaming ability.

Would the servers be able to handle such?
