They changed the spawn behavior so that NPC battles became very unlikely. They could still occur, but they weren’t constant on every second gate like before.
With the new update they’ve mostly reverted that again. Not fully, and very obviously tuned to avoid the large wreck fields of before. I think fleets now also disengage if no capsuleer is on grid instead of calling in reinforcement waves independently. Spawns also “feel” smaller, seen solo sleepers roaming.
Oh, and i’m fairly sure they tuned down their previous instalock behavior for roaming fleets, with about a 5 second delay after you land on grid.
The game doesn’t start for me on linux, in flatpak, with the new launcher version 1.17.0. The error seems to be
[client-manager] Error while starting game client [ARGUMENT_INVALID] [ARGUMENT_INVALID] The environment block would be 33972 characters, over the limit of 32767.
whatever that means. Reverting to 1.16.1 fixes it
EDIT: fixed by setting launch command to env LS_COLORS=0 %command% so this is a steam or flatpak issue.
In FCCP’s latest trailer/video the narator says “Fly boldly. Fail spectacularly.” I’m wondering if the "Fly’ part could be replaced with “Update and patch”. Just joking. Nice video.
