no mans land, lol near enough , (but that was Flanders Fields between britain and germany in WW1) im actually to young to remember that im glad to say. but good point.
Well, then, as feedback, I am answering your questions, and it seems you’ll say and do anything to avoid engaging with a response I provide you. Which I can only interpret as protecting your already-formed opinion on the matter. That’s fine, but just tell the rest of us you’re “just asking questions” to instead get your opinion out the door instead of making me feel like I’m wasting my time putting actual effort into non-troll answers.
OK , do you think CCP have done the best with eve that was possible due to there limitations. What I want is simple, I want eve to be the best universe simulation that has ever or will ever exist. thats it.
No.
OK. I think there’s multiple ways to achieve that. Do all those paths require Walking in Stations? I don’t believe so. But you’re talking to someone who quit after the Summer of Rage (Incarna, Monacle Debacle/Microtransactions, Pay-for-API-Access) and has only come back 10 years later after slowly addressing pain points (learning skills, ship tiericide, bookmark cans, pod grades, etc), so I am well aware I have a bias.
Yeh I stopped playing for a few months then to , that was a gut wrencher. My reason for going on about walking in stations was to diversify the player base, the more broad appeal eve has the more players we can attract, at the moment its very pvp , and the learn to adapt or die attitude, which is in my opinion very harsh for a game that should and could accommodate a more varied player base. CCP have changed so many fundamental aspects of the game for there older players its not a good businesses model, and that is shown in the current players. but will they learn, not sure , but i am very worried about the game as it is.
It was nice to have a constructive conversation dude, Cheers. if you need a hand give me a shout.
Are ED and SC both on one dedicated server like EVE?
If you want Holly Hobby little dolly dressup I would suggest the FInal Fantasy genre.
There are a lot of options even when we talk spaceships and avatars. No need to play final fantasy games, but they are good.
What is this thread about is writing how it would be nice to have legs and use them in EVE Online and about blasting CCP for their inability to get to the level that others have achieved in avatar plus spaceship gameplay. In that it is a valid opinion and critique. Maybe told too many times, but its still relevant.
They use the cloud so are more resilient than Eve.
This is something more games companies are moving to, even Eve. Especially for auxillary services and streaming content and streaming content is the future of online gaming.
Like it or not, you will have less and less to install on your machine.
Not Sure what MA Means im in the UK , but I figure you mean Mature Audience, Really a music video with no swearing, no nudity, no subtext, means MA. ?
When you have played the game for less than 14 months shut up Nub. (you have no idea what you are on about) There are a lot of people on these forums that dont play at all , and just want to cause drama, Drama i like so for all you that play day to day I respect your opinions, for those that dont or cant play the game (We know who they are) just look at https://zkillboard.com/ to see how active they are in game simple as that as that.
ok… EVE is PEGI-12 I was referring if EVE was PEGI-18
On paper it was a cool idea. Problem was there was no reason to do it. They could have made a casino type game in a lounge. But it took forever to load and was clunky as ■■■■. It was like when they combined destroyer bombardment to dust players. Also in local chat… it was too much for the team they had.
Hey there Internet Tough Guy! You are 100% right. Clearly I have not played since 2004 and in no possible way can any forum poster here without a zkillboard be legit. You go girl!
The main reason and the original goal was for Eve to be a virtual reality set in a futuristic environment.
The code for Captains Quarters wasn’t optimized when it was first implemented so yeah, it was clunky and took a long time to load, even caused computer issues on client side. After being optimized most issues were resolved but it was still slow loading. Course the most important aspect is that there wasn’t any viable Avatar content implemented.
CCP asked the playerbase for content ideas and plenty of them were presented so that’s not an issue. And I’m not talking about Avatar emoting / dancing. CCP even worked on one content idea for a while before shelving it. That idea was turning exploration hacking sites into Avatar PvP shooter content, sorta like DUST 514. Main issue was their system would crash if more than 2 Avatar accounts entered.
I don’t know if it was a lack of server capability or programing skill, that all happened a decade ago. Current technology is much more advanced and with PA’s experience on Avatar based games, it shouldn’t be hard to implement viable Avatar content into Eve.
Sure, they “could” but it wasn’t worth the maintenance work involved, it would also have meant they wouldn’t have been able to drop DX9 like they did recently, so yeah keeping it wasn’t on the card unless you’re offering to maintain it for free and actually have the skills to deal with it and the ancient middleware
See the part you, and others, seem to forget is that, those kinds of players want the avatar gameplay to be the core of the game, which would NEVER be the case with EVE as the space portion of the game is the core gameplay feature, WIS would never have been anything but a side, so those thousands of players wouldn’t actually have stayed long term
Then you know that EVE doesn’t use unreal so the features that UE has have no relevance here, so when people say they would need a whole new engine, they mean that the new gameplay you would want would require a different engine to the one currently in use, and yes we are aware there are numerous different engines that exist and can handle the job, but that would involve what is essentially an entirely different game to be running just to handle some pointless interactions
If you mean WiS ideas then yeah, lots were presented, but most were bad ideas or didn’t actually add anything of value to EVE
I disagree.
Which is fine, but CCP clearly don’t agree with you
