Walking in stations?

We already know that you personally don’t like the idea of having Avatar content in Eve.

However, you don’t speak for CCP and your statement implying that they feel the same is incorrect.

No but CCP speaks for CCP, and the fact that none of the ideas were implemented and the fact that the project was never iterated on clearly shows CCP didn’t think there was any reason to continue it

Thats because there isn’t actually any viable use for it within the context of EVE, none of the ideas that have been suggested actualyl adding anything meaningful to the gameplay and infact would only result the same actions we do today but at a much slower rate

You don’t have to like it

There was different thing. Work culture, with competences of the particular managers, with famous “pssssshh”. They were not going to make it, there was no way without restructuring and becoming less icelandic in its core, which as Icelandic was a culture of makeshift. But CCP stayed CCP, reasons why CCP didnt get where they wanted to be, they stayed and stagnated.

I blame CCP.

And now you’re just talking BS. They actually did try to implement Avatar content but couldn’t make it work with multiple accounts, either due to programming incompetence or due to server limitations.

That’s your biased opinion.

Yup, just like your biased opinion that avatar gameplay adds anything to the game in a meaningful way and wouldn’t just be eye candy most people would turn off due to it being slower and more demanding on older systems :stuck_out_tongue:

lol, just more biased opinion from you based on issues that were encountered a decade ago.

Maybe… but I stopped playing Black Desert when it kept crashing and resetting my PC. Not sure if it was the game or EAC causing problems. I wouldn’t want EAC (or other kernel level “anti-cheat”) messing up EvE despite liking the idea of avatar based gameplay in New Eden.

you can still WIS if you download the WIS MOD from Nexus. But you have to update it whenever EVE is updated. And it literally is only for your own station. And for some reason you cant see your ships otherwise works fine.

Wait there is
a mod

Its no less of an issue, there are still people playing the game with low framerates on low end hardware, i mean i play with some of them and you no doubt do too

ftfy

imo space, fps, and avatar should be integrated into one EvE world…you know, like ccp original concept was…
When it became apparent ccp was not able to deliver on that and the core spaceship game was actually at risk, we players mostly threw our support behind preserving the game. In the long time since seems many have forgotten that most of the playerbase originally thought it was a good idea.

Anyway…regardless of what we say…does anyone really think PA is going to just pass up money?

There is nothing :pensive:

I didn’t even check, I didn’t think there were and I doubt CCP would allow the use of mods.

When its going to cost them more money than they would make to add avatar gameplay to EO then yes they will pass that up

They could make an entirely new game that was just avatar gameplay, but to be fair that wouldn’t really be anything that unique or interesting, so i doubt they would spend time doing that either, it all comes down the ROI

That’s pretty short sighted to think Avatar content would be limited to just that.

I think Avatar content in Eve would be more like DUST 514.

Sure, DUST 514 died because CCP released it on PS3 which was already in the process of being phased out. CCP should have implemented DUST 514 in Eve with access to it through ‘The Door’ in the Captains Quarters.

This is you assuming.

Because how you can know how did they know how much they would make? Obviously they were so bad at developing games they did start without even knowing how much they would make?

How did Chris Roberts know how much they would make with SC? Even when there was someone like David Braben who how exactly knew how much they would make with ED?

So many questions.

So essentially a whole new game? but based in Eve lore.

Again, why would CCP put all that time and resources into an addon to Eve, over simple creating a new game.

I don’t know what you’re referring to, DUST 514 was an extension of Eve Online, it interacted with and ran simultaneously with Eve.

Again, the original intention of Eve Online was to be a Virtual Reality set in a futuristic environment. That includes Avatar gameplay content.

Maybe you’re unfamiliar with CCP’s history, they’ve tried multiple times to release “NEW” games which failed to even enter Beta Testing.

DUST 514 was their only success at creating another game which was originally intended to be implemented in Eve. Due to creative financing they struck a deal with Play Station and released DUST 514 on PS3 which was already being phased out for PS4.

If they had stuck to their original plan of implementing DUST 514 into Eve Online, FPS Avatar gameplay content would be in-game right now.

Its quite simple, developing ‘Walking In Stations’ with all the multiplayer interaction and NPCs and all the things to do is pretty much creating a new game. So my point here is are you willing to pay for WIS at the price of a new game? because if not, you are asking CCP to pour money and resources into developing a new game but only receiving maybe a slight increase in some Eve subs.

I doubt there are too many people out there who are not playing/paying for Eve because they can’t walk in the stations, so the increase in revenue isnt going to be that much.
