Ok maybe I’m bugged? I’m not getting cerebrals acc apart from my second site at day one. Maybe it’s something I carry in cargohold? Like additional relics?
Just the rng, I’ve got just two in over 50 sites the last couple days.
Today I ran 7 sites before I got my first acc … and last so far.
I believe so yes. Ive had the can spawn there and it has a digit code like the wrecks.
Seems like the sites have dried up for my timezone. Gonna jumpclone and see if its everywhere i go. If it is i will report back and advise everyone to stay away from my vicinity.
Some Wh and some HS. But I did kill every NPC, bumped all wrecks in most sites so it was a good amount of killing (found 1 HS pocket system with well over 10 sites and it took me a good 2+ hours to clear them in a Gila + RS.)
I thought I had the puzzle figured out but I guess I was wrong. Moved over to each wreck in order Alpha - Echo, only for a NPC/box spawn on the last wreck but the same old Relic dropped .
What puzzle?
As with most PVE, if there is a random respawn mechanic at play sites will naturally pool in low track systems.
As mentioned above I found a bunch of sites in HS, just happened to be a HS pocket in the middle of no where that lead no where. LS has tonnes of sites because they are for the most part too dangerous to run, Wh systems seem to have a few as well (Just ran one in my home system)
What puzzle?
Well I don’t really call Move to wreck, pick-up relic stick in box a puzzle . I had a though while asleep last night that it cant be that basic. Guess I was wrong.
The most I could come up with would be the numbers of each wreck/station being a code that tells you which order to go in. But that seems too complicated for the current event mechanics so I haven’t tracked the numbers or tried to crack it since it’s probably non existent and not worth the trouble.
Still, what is the point of having 2 relics spawn in one site? You only need one for “completing” this site.
Who in the hell is The Agency anyway? Is there any lore behind this or is it just some random thing? It’s like waking up one morning and seeing a message on your computer that you have a job now, and if you do some random tasks you will get paid. Uh okay, I think it’s about time to call the police.
It’s just something to generate content imo. Sometime it can be related to lore and other games, but not always. Just copy some npc stats into some new event group and make an easy site and you got a brand new time sink.
Acc booster drop rate is too low. I killed all the sleepers on 13sites so far and no cerebral acc… and if there is no cerebral acc people don’t go suspect stealing them, so less opportunity for pvp.
Edit: Also, less sites per system, I had to run about 5 to 7 systems before finding a site.
Agency system dates back to the serpentis event last year, but after a few agencies CCP just removed the recurring challenge that allows anyone to grind points at any time, and now you only have challenges reset every 20 hours.
I’ve gotten 4 of the accelerators, they don’t seem to be super rare or anything. IMO having them be more uncommon and a little more special is a lot better than in previous events where there were thousands of the things flooding the market after the first day or two.
yet they sold pretty well for more than 7m each… did you run last event? I run them a lot and by this time I was having profit, and people that don’t run the sites had access to them too. Ritght now only those lucky to find them are using them.
I’ve participated in all of the agency-like vents i’ve seen on eve and i feel like i want to give feedback now of all times.
My first impression for the event was terrible, i died and even with a SOS call for a couple of allies it was futile, you had to add 5 very vague items to your overview and after that they all had that cross-like thing bracket so my call was to try and kill the ones pointing me and bail out but i was dead before i could drop even one of the 2 battleships that spawned on me. I’ve no idea how that managed to get past the test server but at least it got fixed fast (my gila paid the ultimate price for trying the sites on the first days)
Now my 2 isk:
-The whole concept of the agency is amazing, so much potential from it, but the execution leaves too much to be desired and it has earned the discontent of many just for how dull or intrusive have been the past iterations of it. You can make it a individual “quest hub” for the pve oriented player that can scale along with him going from easy ship kills to more complex sites the same way they go from level 1 missions to level 5s and/or add new flavors for the quest tailored for each player tendencies or even skills
-The timer on the “quests” is bad, even if its 22h you still have downtime to do them on an event that makes you complete the set of quests every day for several days to get all the tiered rewards
-The tiered rewards system is horrible, you must do the quests on a daily basis to get the rewards, if you are a weekend player you’re completely ruled out of the reward scheme
-The description is vague to say the least “you may encounter resistance” is an understatement in a game where a crappy belt rat is treated as “deadly” on its description
-The boosters are a decent to great reward, they are harmless on their own but there’s people out there that want that extra % for their performance, same for skins out of novelty
-The mechanics for the agency are still weird, i’ve gotten completion of a site without even turning the relic while i was on a 3 man group
Now my suggestions/requests
-Give credit to every fleet member for the sleeper kill whenever a sleeper dies rather than when you land the killing blow, it makes it more obnoxious to do them with someone else as you have to kill 20 more sleepers whenever you add a corpmate to your fleet to run those sites (don’t deter people from collaborating actively)
-Make the rewards into a mini-store, you earn agency points whenever you complete a quest then you use those to buy stuff like the skins/boosters/apparel/accelerators, you have the possibility to balance it so that none can buy every item from the event to keep variety relevant and the choices feel meaningful
-Make use of other mmo mechanics from games more polished or oriented towards pve, you don’t need a hard cap in the form of a daily(X rewards every Y hours), you can make it a weekly cap (do X sites at Y rewards per site up to Z sites) or a repeatable reward with diminishing returns (first time completion per day = X, Y time of the day = X/Y^2)
-Don’t kill more than half of the play styles for the event, if you use lasers or hybrids you’re out of luck to go solo the sites as you won’t be able to do anything without a battleship with a special fit for the sites (most people won’t even bother for the event that way), make it so you get one type of ewar ship per wave up to a few of them that are NOT battleship type (those are ridiculously tanky)
TL:DR = go read the whole damn post i did take a lot of time to write it for you to ask for a one-line resume
Whilst I understand one does not want to encourage so much grinding it harms people, the 19 hour cooldown, really is not good.
People have differing times of availability, and in a timed event, all it ensures is people become frustrated at NOT being able to complete it, coupled with EVERY release is bugged stealing at least a couple of days from the event, for example, 20 sleepers depends on multiple sites with sleepers, I have run thirty, and still not completed this challenge, due to lack of sites, and lack of sleepers in sites.
Give a couple of hours cooldown, that is quite sufficient, if one needs to prevent chaining play.
I estimate to achieve the final reward at this rate, will require 8-10 hours play a day, switching sleep patterns to a moving 19 hour wake cycle.
Is that really Your intention? If so the reward for such incredible dedication should at least be a fully fitted Pirate supercapital. Most likely you won’t actually get to give many out.
Whilst it is cute to defend “sensai” it is not helpful to ignore and excuse, glaring errors and failiures.
They clearly want to get this right, feedback helps them understand what works and doesn’t work.
So mindless praise and support, and shooting the messengers isn’t clever or helpful.
Check Fountain region. It’s full of these and nobody cares.
