Your character was born on June 23, 2008.
Fleet war target inheritance was patched out of the game on June 9, 2008.
Small wonder you don’t think it was running rampant.

Wow, considering I was referring to the time period of 2008 to 2013, guess your claim that the WarDec Fleet scam was running rampart back then was just a bunch of bullsh*t.
This whole side topic started because I told the OP that he would have liked this game back in 2008 to 2013, mainly because there were a lot of helpful fleets happening back then.
Arsehats start flaming that and you, so desperate to join in, just quickly jumped on the bandwagon. Guess I should say thanks since you actually just proved my original statement correct.
Really, that’s what you’re going to go with after prattling on about how easy it was to avoid those fleets that were patched out before you played? “Well I wasn’t even talking about thaaaaat!”
Sure, okay.
Reality is that the claim that fleets are less safe today is unambiguously incorrect and little more than embittered, butt-hurt bittervet false memories of the “good ole days”.
Maybe it will distract from your repeated claims that the thing you weren’t even here for wasn’t actually prevalent.
“Often wrong, but never in doubt!”
On top of his “your character is less than a month old, you know nothing!” he tried to do to me
Yeah, I’m gonna go with that. Especially since the actual topic was about there being a lot of helpful fleets back then.
Also how to avoid that WarDec fleet scam was posted all over the forums at that time, never said I created it.
By the way, this character may have started then but you have no idea when I actually first played this game.
On top of his “your character is less than a month old, you know nothing! ” he tried to do to me
Which is still true and thanks for proving it, especially since you were the one who said that WarDec Fleet scam was running rampart during the time I said there was a lot of helpful fleets happening.
lol

You’re aware that your resolution, at best, was “2008” and for half of 2008 it was, in fact, running rampant (in direct controversion to your prior claims)?
Also how to avoid that WarDec fleet scam was posted all over the forums at that time, never said I created it.
Well yes, we know now that you never had any actual experience with it to begin with (not that you’d ever let that prevent you from bullshitting like you’re an authority on the subject), so I think we already knew that you must have just been repeating something you heard, once, somewhere along the way and couldn’t actually verify yourself. Like any good charlatan might.
I really don’t give a fec what you say or think, all you ever do is constantly twist and pick at things, always looking to flame, this time you did it so much that you actually proved yourself wrong.
I created my first character on 5/30/2008 after I saw the Eve Commercial on Sy-Fy channel during Battlestar Galactica. That character was biomased a couple weeks later and then this character was created.
I really don’t give a fec what you say or think, all you ever do is constantly twist and pick at things, always looking to flame, this time you did it so much that you actually proved yourself wrong.
Really? Because so far you haven’t said a single credible thing to support this claim:
I never said it was a safe thing to do back then but it was definitely a lot safer than now.
Just the same old, “I have no facts so I’ll appeal to my 11 year experience and hope nobody notices how wrong I am… again.”
Reality: Fleeting up with randos in 2019 is generally pretty safe so long as you’re not flying a titan and fleeting up with Snuff for a free DD last-hit. There are entire communities that revolve around fleeting up with miscellaneous players for incursions, invasions, and NPSI purposes, none of which existed in 2008.
You spent more than a few posts trying to claim that the mechanic you never experienced or had any firsthand knowledge of was never actually prevalent in use.
Per usual, you’ve said something demonstrably, ridiculously incorrect and now you’re desperately defending the demonstrably, ridiculously incorrect thing you’ve said at the cost of all sensibility or credibility.
I created my first character on 5/30/2008 after I saw the Eve Commercial on Sy-Fy channel during Battlestar Galactica. That character was biomased a couple weeks later and then this character was created.
Oh, well in that case, you probably became a bonafide expert on the lofty scam in that 10 days, eh?
Despite your failed attempt to redirect, you have no credibility whatsoever. You spent over an hour trying to prove there wasn’t a lot of helpful fleets happening and you ended up proving yourself wrong. ESAD
If you’re spending that much real money, perhaps Star Citizen is for you!
Despite your failed attempt to redirect, you have no credibility whatsoever.
Redirect to… the typically incorrect thing you actually said that which is currently under discussion?
That’s a very… novel… thought process you have, there.
You spent over an hour trying to prove there wasn’t a lot of helpful fleets
No, what I was pointing out was that your claim that fleets used to be “safer” was incorrect.
It was. Along the way we got distracted by you making a lot of positive assertions about mechanics you never experienced and know nothing about, and while that diversion is par for the DMC-said-something-wrong-again course, it’s probably time to circle back to the original topic, don’t you think?
I do try but sometimes its just not worth trying
Try this it helps me sleep
But seriously folks, this OP has some valid points. IMO, players who don’t find the right corp for their own personal needs will likely leave EVE- unless they don’t need others at all, and aren’t bored by the solo player experience.
IMO EVE is just not for everyone.
Is “Often wrong, but never in doubt!” like a personal motto or something?
With him it sure seems to be.
I could add that to the long list of songs to play at my own funeral.
My PC had a hardware device failure, so I’ve been accessing these forums on another PC in the house. So no Eve saved history on the device, of course. So, internet search for Eve Online gets “Play the record breaking spaceships game for free!” If you install, you get “Play Free” as a dedicated in your face icon on the launcher. Certain people might get the wrong idea about this game and how it works. You know?
Yeah, back then people were a lot more willing to help others.
After my first year of playing I bought a researched Hurricane BPC and after looking at the amount of minerals needed, I realized it would take forever to mine those so I just figured it was a waste of ISK. I mentioned it to someone who then told somebody else who then told another, etc and next thing I know I get a Fleet invite to a Mining Opp consisting of 1/2 a dozen Hulks, a Retriver and an Orca.
I didn’t know any of the players but they wanted to help me build my first ship. All I had to do was use my Hoarder Industrial ship and haul the Ore back to station. They mined more Ore for me than what was required and even reprocessed it into minerals for me, all free of charge.
Later on I fleeted with others quite a few times to run various Exploration sites, also various multi-room missions like Angel Extravaganza, etc.
Also back then careers were more specialized and players with those careers would often help each other out which in turn helped them with their career.
AAAAND no thread would be complete without a long-winded, multi-paragraph post from DMC.
“requiring zero brain power to play”

Farewell, Eve Online is possibly the biggest disappointment I have ever run into on an online game.
Hello Op. First, you are not wrong on all points. EVE may look boring and pointless if you look at it trough the lens of other games.
But there is actually a depth to it you will find nowhere else. Some tips if you maybe want to give it another chance one day:
This game isn’t about fair fights with equal equipment and player level. It is about war, and in war you try to ambush your enemy with the biggest club you can find so he has no chance to react. In other words, PvP in EVE is more about picking the situations that highly favors you instead if the actual fight or even skill points and ship fittings. You can learn that, and it requires no omega, no ISK and no SP.
There are things allowed in this game you will find nowhere else. Are you annoyed by the people who try to credit-card warrior their way ahead in the game? Well you are in luck as they probably don’t know about (1). You can infiltrate their corp, you can scam them, you can steal their stuff. All this is completely OK in EVE. And again, it requires no SP, no omega and no ISK. It requires your personal skills and creativity.
Ask other people. No matter what you try to do in EVE, it is best if you do it with other people. You don’t have to, but it is highly beneficial. Just beware of the common highsec carebear corp. Those people will lead you into stagnation and just exploit you for their own gain.
I highly recomend to not fall into the PvE trap of trying to amass ISK by grinding missions or mining. In my opinion this simply qualifies as the most boring gameplay in all of gaming. Some people like it, but if you are not one of them, avoid it by all means. There are far better ways to make ISK, for example by (2).
EVE is a sandbox. There is no right or wrong path, there is no given way to play it. Unlike other games you are not the hero of the realm that sets out to save the world. You are a demigod, one of many, an immortal capsuleer that has to find his own destiny. There are more possibilities to impact the game than you will have in any other game, but it all depends on your creativity and is shaped by your actions and ideas.
Good luck.
