EVE has only changed because of the players sadly.
Gone are the days when men and women of iron roamed the starscape, forging their futures with fire and blood.
Now, people hide behind shadow puppets and cry when exploded.
It is we, the players, who have led EVE to this shallower time.
The times have changed, that’s all. CCP wants to go mainstream. Not be a nitch, no profit game anymore. What do you expect? I can’t blame them.
I hang around because I think EVE will shrink back into a nitch game again as it used to be simply because some co will come up with a replacement for the game without the old code, better implementation that could never be achieved otherwise. 
We would all have to start all over again, but I’m in on that.
Sadly it is already on the path to fade away.
Gutted by it’s own denizens, as often happens.
What are you suggesting? That CCP will make their game great again, or that Eve will be killed by a competitor?
I have not found a new game that compares to eve yet.
