Excellent, glad to see your initiative to make EVE a more friendly place, especially in hisec!
1.0 for everybody!
Everybody gets TOTAL SAFETY!
I m not saying to change anything about the existing systems… I meant to create 2 or 3 new regions with prompt Concord response to any aggro between players… And yes, some new regions for those players who want to enjoy the game without fear of being ganked… I don’t want to change the nature of the game which I find exciting, but on the other hand, something needs to be done to bring in new players and retain them, so the simple answer would be to cater to what alot of players want to get them to stay and keep paying subscriptions… I’m coming from the business point of view towards keeping this game alive and thriving…
I think the game has reached a point where something needs to be done about the deliberate lopsided advantages given to ganking like unrealistically blinding the stations and restricting warp core stabilizer use… Players should be able to see what they would be undocking into and be able to sacrifice DPS and defense for warp core stabilization to get past ganks… It’s all about forcing players into corps to survive…which needs to end, IMO…
I see, sounds reasonable, and based on her recent posts it seems Aiko is in support of such an idea as well.
I’m sure CCP will be thrilled to add a bunch of empty systems which serve no purpose other than to be the designated safe zone.
Based on this
I’m sure you wouldn’t mind, but not just that, would be in support of making those regions productive mining areas along with mission agents and rats.
There is no need to worry about risk vs reward balance either as the resource output is finite so the players themselves will be the very balancing factor, the more people in those regions the less lucrative they will become per player, thus despite 100% safety there will be balance and the ISK, LP and ore generation will be limited, thus will not threaten the rest of the economy.
Based on your recent initiative that is the only conclusion anyone can come to.
All of hisec will be rejoiced to learn you actively support such a concept. The hero of carebears Aiko Danuja, the savior of 100% safe hisec!
I think if you’re adding any sort of safe zones then also some of the lasting effects of Criminal status should be nerfed, like getting aggro off NPCs in systems you’ve previously been sub-chivalrous in.
It’s true actually, any resource you put into the safe area will lose value. If you want to mine Veldspar all day for 0.01 isk, be my guest.
If you’re ultimately saying that the company is getting sold because new players are getting ganked out of the game, then let me prove your thesis wrong. See, I was also a new player once, or still am maybe according to bittervets, whatever. I picked this game up a few years ago knowing nothing about it other than BIG SPACE BATTLES and spreadsheet simulator. Nobody brought me into it and showed me the ropes.
I can assure you that me, and pretty much everyone else that was starting out with me, barely had run-ins with gankers. If I had, I wouldn’t have made these horrible hauler fits, good thing nobody will ever see them.
The point is, what you are insinuating isn’t accurate to the truth. CCP being up for sale (if confirmed) could be completely unrelated to factors within EVE Online. For example, CCP taking massive loans and sinking all this cash into projects that are dead before they even start. Even as a player, this is exorbitantly frustrating to watch. Investors must be in a perpetual state of blinding rage!
All that is to say, the scope of reasons why CCP might be sold is likely several magnitudes greater and reaches far beyond just the new player experience in EVE Online. In other words, a few rookies getting dumpstered in high sec is not going to be the driving reason that CCP has to close up shop.
There is of course massive room for improvement in virtually every aspect of EVE Online. Space combat itself could see an overhaul. Navigation through space could be touched upon. Interactivity with space stations could be increased. Empire Factions should play a bigger role and could be used to make the game more dynamic. AND SO ON, there are millions of things you could tinker with to make the game infinitely greater than it already is, and each one makes a million times more sense than dumping millions into the tenth shooter in a row that nobody wants to play. Is that clear?
With safe regards

Empty systems??? No… Systems and regions just like the existing ones…which wouldn’t be difficult to create… The only difference being that Concord immediately responds in force to any aggro… They wouldn’t be empty because alot of players would fill them because it would allow them to play the way they want and enjoy the game in peace…
I get the other side of the argument that it would reduce ganking prey…but they would still have to leave these “safe zones” to make any kind of reasonable money and to sell the low price junk from high sec activities… Some would get sick of not being able to make bigger money in these systems just like high sec players take risks into low and null for bigger rewards… The point is to give players an option to stay safe if that will keep them in the game and paying subscriptions to help keep this game going…
I think that we all want this game to survive and flourish, it’s just how to go about doing that without destroying the essence of the game… I just hope that the new owner will not continue to monetize it which would have far greater negative consequences over creating “safe zones”…
Would you also like a sign-on bonus when you login?
You mean like what they are now doing with the “gifts” just to get players to log in…or are you being salty??? Lol…
I’m just asking what will it take to get you to undock and mine Veldspar.
Been there and done that when I first started the game… Mining was just way too boring for me…although I did have some fun when gankers tried to get my Orca a couple times… Lol… I’m far from being a carebear in this game with a perfect record of losses…but that will change one of these days…
I’m confused, you found it boring, but you want more boredom zones?
I took on the game as a solo player because I wanted the challenge…not because I’m anti-social or anything like that… My account is 6 years old, but only played for about 18 months… I had quit the game about 5 years ago because they destroyed my investments by monetizing the skins… Just came back to the game about a month or so ago… I’m heavy into trade with one Omega account and 5 alts at the trade hubs… I’m frequently trying to bust ganker blockades at Sivala, Uedama, and Olletiers… I’m getting quite alot of excitement… Lol…
Amazing, sounds like you don’t need an expanded safezone.
No, I don’t need a safe zone, but there are plenty of others who do… I got hardened in a different way… From what I’ve seen, most new players do the mission and mining grind…and then rage quit after loosing their inexpensive ships and cargo to ganking… That’s the thing… New players come in and work hard for chump change in high sec only to see their hard work destroyed by gankers… It’s self-defeating to player retention… That’s why I have been trying to figure a way to address player retention without affecting the nature of the game…
Who, exactly… and why?
Back from the biomass I see and once more spamming the forums with the same nonsensical topics that has been discussed to ad nauseum.
