Merin,
-wrong again-
getting more isk for doing the -same amount- of mining is a buff…
getting 5x as much for having to do 10+x the amount of mining is not…
come on, it’s not rocket surgery…
Which you almost certainly will, once stockpiles are depleted and the market stabilizes. That is, assuming you are competent and capable of doing stuff like mining in lowsec without dying. If you’re the sort of player that can’t conceive of anything but AFK mining in a 1.0 system within 5 jumps of Jita then you’re getting a well deserved nerf and zero sympathy.
Merin,
you seem very fond of insults, but not very fond of logic or supporting your points…
“If you’re the sort of player that can’t conceive of anything but AFK mining in a 1.0 system within 5 jumps of Jita then you’re getting a well deserved nerf and zero sympathy.”
so, your proof that I fit any of the above?
one could just as easily say “if you are the kind of whiney crybaby, who can’t conceive of any other kind of fun, than to attack unarmed folks who choose to not do what you enjoy, so have to cry and complain to make the other kids -have- to come and play in your yard” applies to some as well…
The whining here and the ignoring of evidence such as low sec ore not being hard to find.
I didn’t say that you did. What part of "IF you are … " is so hard for you to understand? If you aren’t that sort of player then you will see an increase in income. IOW, a buff.
Nevyn,
oh, who’s ‘whining’… I’m stating that I disagree with your definition, and you have yet to provide any support for your definition…
and so you think one quick look in one place counts as ‘statistical evidence’ to your point…
I also note you quite often just say ‘you can find ore’… which is -not- the same thing as ‘you can find -useful- ore’
what you choose to omit and gloss over speaks volumes.
Merin,
it seems to me that -you- are the one who can’t conceptualize that what -you- think is fun, isn’t the universal law of what -everyone- should think is fun.
- I never claimed statistical evidence, again, strawman.
- You provided no figures yourself despite being the initial asserter of that piece of ‘information’.
- You win another trophy for goalpost shifting, and a third in advance for when you shift what ‘useful’ ore is by your definition.
Really, it’s utterly clear at this point you are just whining or trolling. With no attempt to engage in good faith.
Come on down to 1DQ and test my courage.
Nevyn,
so when I ask you to support your position I am strawmanning, and trolling…
and asking for you to prove your point is ‘goalpost shifting’ when I point out that you have omitted or dodged something…
but -I- am the one operating in bad faith… pretty rich.
in a way, it’s kind of funny… someone who wants to pick on unarmed opponents not looking for a fight, but will turn and flee if they meet someone who might actually put up a fight comments on -others- not having courage…
It’s goalpost shifting because you go “Ore can’t be found”, then it’s “No I meant lowsec Ore” then it’s “No I meant ‘Useful’ ore”
That’s why it’s goalpost shifting, because you keep changing what you are asking for. It’s the literal definition of goalpost shifting.
As for supporting my position, Merin provided the theory of basic supply & demand + pricepoint economics, I did the legwork and showed that ore can be found easily. You are the one claiming it can’t be found, and by finding it even just the once I’ve disproven your theory. You are the one here who isn’t supporting their position, just saying “Nah, that isn’t good enough” to everyone else.
Merin, you aren’t showing your work…
Nevyn,
because you choose to assume, and add in things that I didn’t say, doesn’t mean I’m strawmanning…
if you can’t keep yourself focused long enough to realize in a discussion about how they have made useful ore harder to find, and put it in more dangerous places that mentioning ‘ore’ very likely means useful ore moved into lo-sec…
Nevyn,
so in your opinion ‘some folks may profit from a nerf’ is 100% the exact same thing as ‘a buff’?
Supply and demand isn’t a ‘buff’ it’s nature… would you care to show how it fits the commonly accepted definition of a buff… and not just “well, I said so, so neener”?
^ There is your shifting goalposts
You have literally changed what you are asking for as I’ve satisfied your previous request.
And there is your strawman, since I never said that and now you are arguing against something I didn’t say. Again it’s the literal definition of a strawman.
I’ve shown my work: scarcity drives prices upward. You’re suggesting an absolutely absurd scenario where ore is both so scarce that nobody can find any and so low in price that even when you do you don’t make much ISK from it. That’s so far from reality that there isn’t really anything to say to it besides “stop trolling”.
Supply and demand isn’t a ‘buff’ it’s nature…
Creating the conditions where supply and demand produce increased income is a buff.
Nevyn,
so you’ve now managed to try and equate you being intentionally obtuse with me moving the goalposts hmm…
when the point is that it’s harder to find useful ore
your first response was ‘I found ore’… to which I clarified… answer the -whole- question, not just the part you chose to try and pass off…
so your “I found ore” did not answer the question as posed, and when called out on it, you try and say it’s shifting the goalpost…
then when you tried to go “ok, well, here’s something that answers 2 of the 4 points, so point made”… and I point out you still haven’t answred the -whole- question, it’s again me ‘shifting the goalposts’
then when again you came back and said “see, I answere 3 of the 4, so I made my point” and accuse of changing the goalposts when you never made it to the end zone…
so, because Merin made a point that I disagreed with… and you said “Merin is right” you want to call strawman on “well, technically, I didn’t say those words, Merin did”?
Merin,
then may they apply such generous buffs to PVP hmm?
after all if they make it much harder to gank someone, etc, then the satisfaction of successfully achieving it is a ‘buff’
