I don’t care what any of you say… You’ve not played Eve until you’ve lived in an area where you can get small gang pvp like 5v5 up to 15v15.
If both teams know what they’re doing you’re in for a long technical fight where one mistake could collapse your fleet. This is the real Eve online, don’t bother trying to argue it’s not.
I don’t know what the hell some of you are talking about, Link up with a pvp content creator, no stress, find small gang pvp with your friends and it will be the best gaming experience of your life.
Oh wait i forgot, many of you are boring you stay in hi sec, and if you’re in 0.0 you dock up when a decent fight comes along. you fake eve players.
Obviously you’re unaware you can employ fleet members who will remote rep armour or shield and therefore extend the time it takes for the opps to kill you. During this time you have to kill them. But no you want to exclusively kill miners and other small ships and limit yourself to easy fights. Of course Eve and CCP is to blame for you being risk averse.
Don’t go dissing CCP or fleet warfare just because you cant find a good group or you dont know how to group pvp.
That’s not the experience I had. I found myself loosing a lot so I appealed for help on the forums and found there were a few people to come down to Stain. For a good while things were okay and we got good kills. We started having good fights against much bigger opponents and i met some cool friends, all in all it was a great adventure, the best gaming experience of my life.
It was certainly more than listening to someone eat and call the next primary, we had to develop strategy we had to grind and gather resource for ship replacement, it was good fun theorizing fleets getting the needed ships down there and then executing our plan. Our perspective was the underdog we were always outnumbered but we got a good amount of kills based on our size.
But hey knock yourself out on trolling, one day people will stop following ignorant people and discover the real Eve.
I was fixing your emotionally charged opinionated preferred gameplay style with another.
I get you like blobbing. I’ve tried it. It sucks. It’s not a play style that I like, or enjoy.
What I do enjoy is solo frigate pvp, because I don’t like people telling me what to do.
The problem arose when you made the claim that anyone who doesn’t enjoy your style of game play are “risk adverse” and “carebearish” while only providing your own biased experiences and trying to invalidate others.
Read again…we were the ones getting blobbed if anything, we had to adopt a kind of hit and run playstyle, We were the guys pretending to fall for their bait and then killing their bait ship or we would have a hidden falcon or two and try to make the most of the fight.
I’m a bit of a role player too, I was trying to create a safer space in NPC 0.0 for hisec guys to come down and enjoy. So sorry to disappoint my game isn’t just “press F1” It’s actually an epic sci-fi motion picture.
Ah now we’re getting to the truth of why you view Eve a certain way. Please be aware not everyone thinks like you and are happy to do what a fleet commander asks for the good of whatever roleplay they are currently doing.
Nope that is how you perceived it with your “I will never ever do what anyone asks mindset” I never said my way was better, I implied one has not played eve properly until they have tried all aspects of the game including small gang pvp.
The statement I made was true and factual, how can someone have tried the whole game when they haven’t tried small gang pve in NPC 0.0?
You say my words are obnoxious, what is so wrong with pointing out one aspect of a video game?
Why would I do that when I already said because of where I lived (Stain) resource was scarce so pve was a must? I also mentioned me and the rest of the guys gathered resource, I even claimed to have a role play. How you interpreted that as “all other parts of the game are crap” is beyond me.
I’ve done lots of agent missions in hi-sec and in Stain, I still do stain agent missions today why would I think a pve playstyle is wrong when i do it myself?
You might not have seen me about in the forum, but my belief is actually all playstyles are valid and contribute to the game as a whole. What I did imply is that some players are boring because they don’t bother to TRY the style I’m on about before coming to a conclusion. It sounds to me that you are happy with your rigid perspective, all id say is try to mix up your game play, start another character and train to destroyer and see if you can join a corp that does small gang pvp.
I would agree with this. I think everyone should try all the different aspects of this sandbox from mining to ganking. From industry to null sec alliance fleet operations.
I’ll say it again, this statement here:
Specifically, it’s this part here that I take issue with
That smug little snark right there. It’s a blatant attempt to invalidate any kind of game play aspect that you don’t like. Namely anything else that is not low sec/null small fleet roams.
Then, in a self centered and conceded fashion, you continue with
This is factually incorrect. And offputting.
What I think you mean is, “You’ve not experienced all of Eve until you’ve [insert the activity that I enjoy here].
At which case, I would agree with that.
So, you were right, I was a bit trolly, but only because I thought what you were trying to convey was trolly and snarkish in itself.
You’re a formidable Forum-fooer, and quite enjoyable to interact with!
Honestly, small fleet roams can be fun. And I know a lot of people that enjoy large fleet operations, and again, I’d encourage people to try them.
Right, you seem to struggle with truths. You have an issue with someone asking you to try the whole game before deciding what is good or bad? The same applies to everything in life. If you buy a Boat and you never sail it then how could one come to the conclusion that the boat is good or not?
So I stand by my statement fully as factual and accurate.
Not smugness, I just dont like people giving Eve a bad name without fully trying what it has to offer first.
No No, I meant exactly what I typed. you seem to struggle with people having their own views and opinions, I will tell you what I mean if I am the one talking.
It really was a great adventure, it was even fun just talking with the guys on comms. I’ll never forget my NPC 0.0 group pvp experience it was amazing,
No mate, I just love Eve.
Thanks buddy, I’m enjoying interacting with you too
I can confirm that Aaron is genuine, he loves Eve and loves what he does. My time in Stain with him from April 2010 to early 2011 was truly awesome, intense and great fun.
Only with those that don’t line up with my subjective world view.
Not at all. Every EvE player should try as many different things in EvE as possible. One never knows that they may discover a gameplay they love, until they try.
We have something in common.
Thanks man. Though rumor has it, you don’t undock?
